NASA launched first-ever InSight (Interior Exploration using

Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport) lander

dedicated to exploring the dedicated to exploring the deep interior of

The Water Resources Secretary U.P. Singh who appeared in the

court in response to the contempt plea filed by Tamil Nadu,

presented the scheme in a „sealed cover‟ to the Court. The structure

of the scheme is almost similar to the Cauvery Management Board,

which will set up the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee. It will

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K Palanisami inaugurated

the „Police Museum‟ on State Bank road near Coimbatore railway

weaponry of the police and the armed forces. The museum,

The Tamil Nadu government on May 28 ordered the closure of the

Sterlite Copper factory in Thoothukudi. The decision to close the

plant was arrived at upon consideration of the interests and

sentiments of the people of Thoothukudi. The company had been

operating the plant since 1996 in the Thoothukudi SIPCOT. The

protest by the people of Thoothukudi against Sterlite, which they

have claimed is polluting the town and resulted in a higher

incidence of cancer, during which 13 people were killed in police

firing.
