What made you want to be a teacher? I wanted to be a teacher for various reasons. I always enjoyed school and my music teachers influenced me greatly. In elementary school Mrs. McCosh was ahead of her Dme, teaching the Orff process before it was well known which I also teach. Mrs. Saulmon and Mr. Miller were very passionate about teaching music well - loved the experience throughout my years at Chapman High. I also knew being a wife and mother were important to me and the schedules work very well together - raising a family and teaching. Do you have a favorite color? My favorite color is blue - especially sapphire blue. What advice do you have for students? My advice for students is to never give up! You don’t know what you can accomplish if you don’t try. Find the good in your day - it’s there if you look! If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? S I would like to travel to the east and west coast of the USA and internaDonally the Swiss Alps would be a beauDful place to experience. What is your favorite part of teaching? My favorite part of teaching is helping the students find the joy of music. Some students like to sing but others find joy in the music making of instruments. I try to find the aspect in class that brings them joy and a sense of accomplishment. Where did you go to Elementary School? I aPended Blue Ridge Elementary School, a small rural school in the Chapman District.

THANK-YOU for all of your hard work during the fourth quarter of school. We are a GREAT team! Have a wonderful summer and we can’t wait to see you again next year!
