The four greatest rock n’ rollers on the planet have assembled to give you a Christmas gift—A MILLION DOLLAR CHRISTMAS gift! Join the smash hit cast of Presley, Perkins, Lewis and Cash for a rip-roaring holiday show that’ll have you rockin’ around the Christmas tree! The show is unlike any other—a full catalogue of classic rock n’ roll hits, plus a special selection of heartwarming holiday tunes, all done up in that unmistakable rockabilly style. Presley, Perkins, Lewis and Cash: A MILLION DOLLAR CHRISTMAS is worth every penny—you won’t want to miss it!

PROFILESBenjamin D. Hale (Johnny Cash) played the part of Johnny Cash in Harrah’s Million Dollar Quartet in Las Vegas. As a lifelong Cash and country music fan, it’s a role that suits him just fine—although he’s not all country. He just

finished a six-year run (3,000 performances!) as an understudy (Raoul) in Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian. He has an incredibly wide range, from the low growl of Johnny Cash to the high operatic notes of Phantom, and everything in between. He plays the guitar, harmonica, bass and the dobro. He writes his own songs and knows his way around the recording studio. He has been in more bands than you can count, playing rock, folk, country and blues. Currently his band Crimson Balladeers is a blend of Americana, country and rock.

Jared Freiburg (Jerry Lee Lewis) Starting piano at age five by way of his grandmother, Freiburg has always been a big fan of 1950s music. He initially attended the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music before leaving to join Million Dollar

Quartet on international tours. He has had the honor of paying tribute to The Killer in many productions around the globe over the past five years with fantastic companies like Presley, Perkins, Lewis & Cash. Aside from being a tribute artist, he also writes his own music and his first album release, Vagabond, can be found on all platforms. He thanks the audience for their support and wishes them to enjoy the show!

Zach Ryan (Carl Perkins, Lead Guitar) began as a drummer in his high school jazz and pep band. After discovering the Beatles through the movie Help! he got his first guitar. He has written songs and fronted bands in Las Vegas and Nashville for

the past eight years. He currently tours with a handful of artists and performs his own material in Nashville and around the country.

Michael D. Potter (Elvis Presley) fell in love with early country and rock music at a young age and was quickly strumming Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins’ tunes. One of his earliest memories of singing in public was Elvis Presley’s “She’s

the Devil in Disguise” at a family function. He went to school at BYU-Hawaii where he studied vocal performance and gained experience in the classical voice world, touring with the college choir to New Zealand, Australia and Japan, with many featured solo performances. But alongside each formal recital he was planning and throwing outlaw country concerts or tributes to Johnny Cash. Last summer he performed as Elvis in the jukebox musical Million Dollar Quartet at the Hale Center Theater in Orem. He has toured with this show, Presley Perkins Lewis and Cash on the east coast and is thrilled as always to celebrate the music of the undisputed King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

Scott Hinds (Bass) is one of Nashville’s premier slap bassists. As the lead singer and founding member of The Royal Hounds, he is known for his wild and engaging approach to live performance. Having taken the band on tour across

three continents, Hinds currently calls Music City home. In addition to fronting The Royal Hounds, he played Carl Perkins in the Vegas production of the Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet. He’s excited to be keeping the tradition alive as the bassist for Presley, Perkins, Lewis, & Cash.

Toby Caldwell (Drums). Some of Caldwell’s earliest memories are sitting on the very comfortable couch in his dad’s recording studio. Don Caldwell Studios was a mainstay in the West Texas Music Scene, opening in the early seventies and still

producing great music today. He was able to hear world class musicians perform and hear it captured the way it should be.

Along with running a studio, Caldwell’s father is a great “Texas Tenor” saxophonist. He had a band called the Lubbock Texas Rhythm Machine and played almost every weekend. By the time Caldwell was 12, he was going to all of the gigs, helping with sound and listening to one of the best drummers in the world. Then his dad decided to start a live music venue called The Cactus Theater, which had live concerts every weekend, featuring all kinds of touring acts. Soon Caldwell was running sound and lights for all the shows. He had the opportunity to work with professional local

musicians and pro touring artists like Asleep at the Wheel, Mac Davis, Richie McDonald, Terry Allen, Joe Ely, Michael Martin Murphey, The Count Basie Orchestra, Jerry Jeff Walker, The Texas Tornadoes and many others.

While mixing shows with the house band, Caldwell found himself drawn to the drums. His dad helped him get together a drum set out of parts from an old studio kit; needless to say, Caldwell was hooked. He went to a local jam a few months later and as luck would have it, he got the gig as the house drummer for the jam and started playing three or four nights a week.

When Caldwell was 17, he took over Caldwell Studios. He was able to record tons of music with great gear and work with many talented local and national acts. Around that time, he started subbing gigs on drums at the Cactus. Eventually he became the bandleader for the theater and produced and played on many of the shows they did. He also attended Texas Tech University and studied percussion under Alan Shinn. He played drums in the two o’clock big band, several jazz combos and was a member of an organ trio with his brother Todd Caldwell and the TTU head of jazz studies Brad Leali.

Caldwell’s life has been very blessed and he has always had the support of his wonderful family. In the last few years he has felt driven to go out on his own and pursue his dreams. He considered his options and ended up in Nashville, TN. Caldwell has a home studio where he tracks drums and bass and does his mixes. He looks forward to the next chapter of his life, working his way into the scene and participating in some great music.

The Friends of the MAC is a family of people who have decided that a world-class performing and visual arts center should reside in their community. Ticket sales only provide 42 percent of our $3 million operating budget. It is through the support of College of DuPage and through the generous gifts from patrons and local businesses that we can keep art in our gallery and on our stages.

Your gift to the MAC • Brings nationally and internationally renowned artists to our community • Supports our SchoolStage program that annually offers affordable arts experiences to thousands of school children • Provides students and community members the opportunity to interact with artists • Enhances the quality of life in our community

Without the generous support of the Friends of the MAC we would not be the cultural hub of DuPage County. We gratefully thank our friends and we invite others to join them.

For complete details, visit the MAC Ticket Office or call the MAC at (630) 942-2263 or the College of DuPage Foundation at (630) 942-2466.
