This was incorrect and Mike Wigley had not spotted that Dave Robinson had promoted this in his column in Cycle. There may well be future such meeting, so keep your eyes peeled. It was minuted that Bury CTC is celebrating 100 years. Incorrect! Those whipper-snappers are only 80 years old. 3) Reports from Officials a) Secretary had been contacted by West Yorkshire CTC requesting that postcode area OL14 (Todmorden) be transferred from our area to theirs. The area is totally within Calderdale local authority and such a move would be in line with CTC’s current policy of aligning our districts along local authority boundaries, for better campaigning purposes. The meeting unanimously approved the move. Mike will contact Chris Crossland (West Yorkshire CTC) and Adrian Lawson at National Office. b) Treasurer Terry Hodges was not present at the meeting but we’ve still got money n the bank so all is well. c) Magazine Editor/Publicity Officer/Membership Registration Officer Graham had brought the latest Northern Wheel to the meeting for distribution. There is £2037.37 in the Northern Wheel bank account with £28.23 in cash He has lost AJ’s as an advertiser - they’ve had to move from Henbury but are expected to relocate so we hope to gain a cycle-friendly cafe elsewhere in Macclesfield. It was minuted that Bury CTC is celebrating 100 years. Incorrect! Those whipper-snappers are only 80 years old.

3) Reports from Officials

a) Secretary had been contacted by West Yorkshire CTC requesting that postcode area OL14 (Todmorden) be transferred from our area to theirs. f) Peak Audax Events Secretary: Mike Wigley reported that we’d lost one of our regular riders in Robin Smith of Merseyside CTC. Robin has ridden all five of the hilly audax rides into the Peak District run from Marple, but he died of a heart attack aged 69 the day after one of these this August.

g) Welfare Officer: No report

4) Reports from Groups

a) Bury: reported the sad loss of Walter Pilkington, a former section President,a founder member, and a regular member of the section until 1994 (nearly 50 years!). Walter died 27th August 2009 at the age of 87.

b) West Manchester: Ian reported on the Beard Cup, this year won by Blackburn & District CTC so well done them. Adam Pindar broke the course record. Thanks go to timekeepers Mavis Ross & Mike Carr, Robert Browning for pushing off, Phil Rigby for collecting the finishing times and presenting the prizes and many thanks to Eddie McGrath Cycles for their very generous help with the prizes. Again we were lucky with the weather when you consider how bad it had been the preceding week. The results will be displayed on the website shortly.
