The “M” means 90° mountain Fold and the “V” means 90° valley Fold. At the beginning of the game, each player lays down SIX light cycle pieces to form a “game trail.” You do this by overlapping the “cycle” at the head of one piece with the “cycle shadow” on the tail of the next piece... thus moving your bike forward. For example, your game trail might look something like this: After each player has a starting trail in place, roll a six-sided die to see who goes first. Highest roller goes first and then play continues in clock-wise rotation. A player performs their turn by rolling the die to see how far his/her light cycle can move. For example, if the player rolls a “3”, they will choose three trails from their RESERVE collection and ADD it to the front of their game trail. Then they will REMOVE three trails from the back of their game trail and return them to their RESERVE. (Note: After a turn is complete, a player’s game trail is always six pieces long and a player always has six trail pieces in their RESERVE to use for their next turn.) The die is then passed to the next player to perform their turn. The game continues in this manner and players try to trap their opponents in positions that they can not drive themselves out of. Special note: Don’t stress too much about making sure that the trails are perfect 90° angles. Trails may bend a little bit as play continues — and that’s just fine. If a player rolls the die and cannot complete their move because they would run into an opponent’s trail (or fall off the table) their trail is removed from the game and the remaining players continue to race until their is only one light cycle left standing. In addition, you will need one six-sided die to play the game. The geek in me likes to call this the “Master Control Program” Cube! Cut out each light cycle and fold as indicated.

For example, your game trail might look something like this:

After each player has a starting trail in place, roll a six-sided die to see who goes first.

(Note: After a turn is complete, a player’s game trail is always six pieces long and a player always has six trail pieces in their RESERVE to use for their next turn.)

The die is then passed to the next player to perform their turn.

(MCP Cube)

When you’re done, each player will have 12 light cycle pieces of matching color that look like this (top view).

Play on a table that’s approximately 4 ft. x 4 ft. or larger — covered with a table cloth to keep the pieces from sliding away in a Sark rage!
