A FATAL case of yellow fever occurred on board one of the ships of the Flying Squadron., under the command of Rear-Admiral Hornby, a, few days after leaving Rio de Janeiro for Monte Video. The contagion was arrested by the energy of the medical officers, aided by the coldness of the weather, and no other cases were apprehended. The squadron left ilonte Video on the 14th September for the Cape of Good Hope. MR. HUGH STOTT, M.R.C.S.-The death of this gentleman to.)I: place at the Royal Kent Dispensary, Green- wich on the 5th instant, from phthisis, at the age of forty- nine years, leaving a widow and ten children, the youngest under a month old. p’or many years Mr. Stott practised at Lewisham, holding the office of surgeon to the Lewisham Union, and was much respected.
