Students can also request a complete annual campus security report from the administrative office. This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Center for Allied Health Education and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report further includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies regarding sexual assault and other matters. MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM ABOUT US CAHE’s Medical Assistant Program is an accredited, 50-week program that cross-trains students to meet healthcare providers’ administrative and clinical needs through integrated didactic instruction and hands-on clinical experience. The scope of practice for Medical Assistants includes the following aspects: Customer Service Manage the check in and registration process for patients Take patient vitals Act as triage and liaison between patients and physicians Provide information to patients on wound care, medications, and lab results Clinical Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures (Phlebotomy), and assist with minor surgical procedures Perform electrocardiograms (EKG) Administrative Perform data entry into EMR system Order supplies, stock exam rooms and schedule patient appointments Upon graduation, students are qualified to apply to sit for the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examination administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants or the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) examination administered by the American Medical Technologists. Students also qualify for national certification in EKG, Phlebotomy and Medical Billing. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

In order to qualify for the program, candidates must:

• Be at least 18 years of age prior to orientation

• Hold a High School Diploma or a High School Equivalency Diploma/GED

• Meet the technical standards of the program which can be viewed at www.cahe.edu/technicalstandards

CLINICAL SITES*Clinical Education is an integral part of the Medical Assistant curriculum. Working alongside qualified clinical staff with real patients provides students with the opportunity to develop confidence, become competent in their skills, and accustomed to the healthcare environment they will ultimately seek to work in.
