Meedhoo Today: We need to change
By: Shahid I don’t want mention a thousands of problems and the wrong things we witness and live with eve-ryday. We need a solu-tion for our problems. Here is what I find speak-ing with the parents & youths.
The parents understand that when our children grow up, they will have to compete and succeed in
the community and their working career. They rec-ognize that is the only way we can built healthier community. There maybe differences on how to accomplish it. But every-one agrees that Meedhoo must provide best educa-tion not just for our is-land, but four our coun-try.
The parents fully under-stand the danger of drugs our children face. They recognize keeping eye on their children 24/7 is no longer enough.
The parents understand travelling Hithadhoo for medical is not the solu-tion. They also under-
stand building a new Health center is not a so-lution. They recognize the need of good doctors for the new health facility.
The Meedhoo youth needs a place for them-selves in their community. They are ready and will-ing to get involved in community activities when it means they can act on their own values and bring about changes that will affect their daily lives and lives of the peo-ple they care about. Young people want recog-nize them as an assets and experts about their own community.
