• Regional Council System Development Worksheet
• Trauma region does not have focused training that we cancollaborate on
• KDEM Disaster Training is being developed and sent out
• Butler county has chosen disaster preparedness as a 2020 priority
• What opportunities and funding can the Trauma region leverage forcollaboration?
• Possible collaboration with the Homeland Security Council
• Public Health Sector is looking to do primary pod training and massdistribution of medical counter measures
• PODs – if there was to be an infectious disease outbreak,coordinated distribution of antibiotics and antidote agents
• State Mass Exercise will be in April 15-17, 2020. The scenario ispandemic flu.
• There are very few events that will happen with a pediatric surgethat will not be trauma related.
Opportunities:
• Opportunity for people to participate/play a role in the State Massexercise. If your agency is interested in participating, [email protected]
• Pediatric Surge Annex Table-Tops will be held in 2020. For moreinformation contact [email protected]. The HCC and Traumaregions could collaborate on table top exercises. Includes writingAnnexes and testing them. Could trauma region facilities participatein these table tops? Focuses on support and coordination before thepediatric patients get to the hospitals and after.
• Level IV Trauma Centers have to participate in a minimum of twodisaster preparation drills for their designation process.

• “Triage Tuesday” – running through the process of triaging a patient.Generate awareness and accountability for patients. What isstandard in the SC trauma region for triage practice?
• Do we need to do re-education on disaster tag? How are they usedand how do we track them?
• What is the hospital’s best practices for receiving these patient?
• How does rural and frontier communities respond within theseparameters?

Funding Distribution Report Purpose: Regional Engagement and Equity of Distribution Audience: Council
2 facilities out of 34 have received funding in the first two quarters of 2020.
0 prehospital services have applied for funding in the first two quarters of 2020.
1 out of 19 Health Departments have applied for fall prevention funding in the first two quarters of 2020.
Trauma Center Report Purpose: Regional Engagement, Strength of Regional System, System Planning Audience: Hospital Administrators, Peer Network of Trauma Program Managers, Council The South Central Region has two Level-I facilities, one Level-III facilities, and
17 Level-IV facilities. This region has no Level-II facilities
2 facilities are undergoing the designation renewal process.
3 facilities are in a grace period.
4 facilities expired. However, Susan B Allen intends to pursue designation next year and Harper and Anthony consolidated into Patterson Health Center. Patterson will begin the initial designation process next year.
We have received three letters of intent for this region. However, two have not continued with designation process since submitting their letter.
