From Billings Court (South of QEW) to Harvester Road

NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE

The City of Burlington has started a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to assess existing erosion issues, identify any problems with the existing creek system, and to develop plans and strategies to deal with the existing issues and prevent further erosion along Tuck Creek between Billings Court (south of the QEW) to Harvester Road. As part of the study an implementation plan will be developed to address the issues identified. . The Class EA will establish recommendations for city-led capital works that will address the erosion risks. The study will also identify measures to reduce impacts of the work.A key component of the study will be consultation with interested stakeholders (public, landowners and regulatory agencies). The Public Information Centre (PIC) will provide interested parties with an opportunity to review the work completed to date, discuss issues related to the project, and review the potential alternative solutions. Comments gathered at the meeting will be considered while reviewing the various proposed alternatives. An open-house style PIC will be held on:

Date: Monday, September 16,2012Location: City Hall, 426 Brant St., Room 247

Drop-in Open House: 6p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The study will be conducted as a ‘Schedule B’ project in compliance with the Municipal Engineers Association document “Municipal Class Environmental Assessment,” (October 2000, amended 2007 & 2011) which will address Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA process. We are interested in hearing any comments or input that you may have about this study. Comments and information regarding the study are being collected to assist the City of Burlington in meeting the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act. This material will be maintained on file for use during the study and may be included in study documentation.
