Prohibited activities include: theburning of any waste, slash or other ma-terials (piled or unpiled) at a size largerthan one-half metre by one-half metre;the burning of more than 2 open fires ofany size at the same time; stubble orgrass fires of any size over any area; theuse of fireworks, sky lanterns or burningbarrels of any size or description.
Since April 1, kamloops Fire Centrecrews have responded to 49 wildfire in-cidents. Many of these wildfires resultedfrom poorly planned open burning.

“there's been more oil spilled than[kinder Morgan] is saying,” pipelinecritic David ellis said last November. AMarch 2014 document reveals there was,in fact, quadruple the amount that thecompany initially reported to havespilled at Coquihalla Canyon.
After persistently prodding the Na-tional energy Board, pipeline criticDavid ellis finally got a report on kinderMorgan's two oil spills along the transMountain pipeline route. the spills hap-pened last June, and had temporarilyshut the pipeline down for investigation.
what he saw on page two of kinderMorgan's engineering Assessmentfloored him. it stated that instead of just20-25 barrels spilled near the CoquihallaCanyon, the pipeline leaked well overquadruple that amount.
ellis had wondered why kinder Morganwas removing some 5,005 cubic metres (over600 truckloads) of oil-contaminated soil fromthe area. it seemed excessive, which led himto comment at the time: “there's been moreoil spilled than [kinder Morgan] is saying.”
His suspicions were confirmed by thereport, which said a subsequent analysis“resulted in a revised estimated release vol-ume of approximately 18 m3” — or about113 barrels of oil spilled in the park area.
At the time that he started voicing hisconcerns about it, kinder Morgan at-tacked his credentials and maintainedthat the large volume of soil was beingremoved only to “meet strict clean up cri-teria because of its location within aprovincial park." But the latest reportsuggests it was because the spill was big-ger than people originally thought.
Both kinder Morgan and the NeB saidthat the company took all the appropriatesteps to contain the spill once it started.
"the initial estimate of volume wasexactly that, an estimate," said kinderMorgan spokesperson Andy Galarnyk."As remediation work continued we up-dated the volume estimate based on lev-els of contamination discovered."
