In 2012 Messick’s added our fourth store location in Carlisle Pennsylvania, with the acquisition of the Peterman Power Equipment dealership. The location at 225 York Rd served the community well but was fairly limited in equipment offerings and service capabilities. Early this year Messicks was presented with an opportunity to acquire a New Holland dealership on the opposite end of town in Carlisle. The dealership formerly known as R&W Equipment turned out to be a great solution to expand and offer more to the customers in Carlisle. On April 1, 2015 Messick’s officially closed the doors on it’s 225 York Rd store and merged it’s offerings and employees over to the new store location at 2510 Ritner Hwy. As part of the transition Messick’s began a huge renovation to the facility and much has changed as the construction has progressed. Make sure you stop in and see all the new equipment offerings, renovated showroom and all the brands we have to offer at the new Messick’s Carlisle at 2510 Ritner Hwy.

The Kubota equipment dealer formerly known as O.C. Rice in Biglerville Pennsylvania has officially transitioned over to Messick’s Equipment and is currently undergoing a handful of renovations to the facility. This location has served Adams County since 1941 with a full lineup of the best new & used equipment, parts, and accessories available. The Biglerville team actively worked with the surrounding community to fulfill the needs of many orchards, agricultural, landscape contractors and homeowner needs. As always, we service what we sell and carry an extensive inventory of repair parts and accessories. At 225 feet long and 180 feet wide our service shop has 40,500 square feet or almost an acre under roof. The shop design includes 4 separate shop areas for Ag, Self-Propelled, L&G and Setup. We have 38 techs on staff including our drivers, 6 shop managers, and 5 full time support staff. For efficiency, we’ve located all of our shop managers and technical resources in a centralized location so both our techs and customers can have easy access.

With an area this big to heat and cool, we’ve installed 5 gigantic fans to equalize the temperature between the ceiling and the floor for energy conservation and a better work environment for our employees. Efficiency continues in the heated floors that keeps the heat closest to where our techs are working. The overhead lights are on a motion sensor, so if there is no movement detected in 15 minutes they will turn off but turn back on instantly if motion is detected.

The service areas are designed for work efficiency as well. Each tech has individual air supplies and chain hoists. Each of the lawn and garden techs has a lift table in their bay capable of lifting 6000 lbs. For air quality we have drop down exhaust hoses throughout the shop for when the units have to be run inside. The tech service bays are each 20’x33’, which means that the larger equipment that we previously had to work on outside can now fit in the building. Technology is also important and all of our techs are equipped with laptops at their stations to access parts and service information in an effort to complete work more efficiently for our customers.
