2What is holographyHolographyis a technique that allows thelight scattered from an object to be recorded and later reconstructed.

The technique to optically store, retrieve, and process information.

Preserve the 3-D information of a heliographed subject. What is holography Why holographic displayHow Holograms worksMicrosoft HoloLensReal World Types of Holograms

What is a hologram?

A hologram is an object like any other object in the real world, with only one difference: instead of being made of physical matter, a hologram is made entirely of light. Holographic objects can be viewed from different angles and distances, just like physical objects, but they do not offer any physical resistance when touched or pushed because they dont have any mass. Holograms can be two-dimensional, like a piece of paper or a TV screen, or they can be three-dimensional, just like other physical objects in your real world. The holograms youll see with MicrosoftHoloLens can appear life-like, and can move, be shaped, and change according to interaction with users or the physical environment in which they are visible.3What is holographyWhy holographic displayA high resolution three dimensional recording of an objectGlasses free 3D displayNo need for projection screenLife like imagesInteractive display

4What is holographyHow Holograms works

The time-varying light field of a scene with all its physical properties is to be recorded and then regenerated.

Hence the working of holography is divided into two phases:RecordingReconstructionWhy holographic displayHow Holograms worksMicrosoft HoloLensReal World Types of Holograms

What is MicrosoftHoloLens, and how does it work?MicrosoftHoloLens is the first holographic computer running Windows10. It is completely untetheredno wires, phones, or connection to a PC needed. MicrosoftHoloLens allows you to pin holograms in your physical environment and provides a new way to see your world.MicrosoftHoloLens features see-through, holographic, high-definition lenses and spatial sound so you can see and hear holograms in the world around you. Complete with advanced sensors and a new Holographic Processing Unit (HPU) that understands the world around you, MicrosoftHoloLens is able to run without any wires while processing terabytes of data from the sensors in real-time.

8What is holographyWhy would anyone want holograms in their real world?

Why would anyone want holograms in their real world? While weve made incredible advances as an industry in the way in which we interact with computers, we are still constrained by the need to conform to the ways computers recognize our commands through mouse clicks or by touching a screen. Using holograms, you can pin your digital content, such as apps, information, and even multi-dimensional videos, in the physical space around you, so you can interact with them in the same ways that you interact with other physical objects.9What is holography How can one see holograms mixed with real world with Microsoft HoloLens?

How can I see holograms mixed with my real world with MicrosoftHoloLens?MicrosoftHoloLens generates a multi-dimensional image visible to the user so that he or she perceives holographic objects in the physical world. Holographic objects seen with MicrosoftHoloLens can be pinned, or anchored, to physical locations you choose, move according to their own rules, or remain in a specific location within your field of view regardless of where you are or in which direction you are looking.10Advances in technologyTouchable hologramsTactile holographic display with haptic feedbackHorizontal 360 view of a image on table topUser interfacing integrated displays
