Peshmerga announces launching operations to liberate Hawija and Sharqat

The headquarters of the Southern Operations Command of the paramilitary Peshmerga force

announced launching military operations to liberate the districts of al-Hawija and al-Sharqat from ISIS

militants. The commander of the Southern Operations Command, Rasoul Omar, said in a statement

obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Operations to liberate the district of al-Hawija (45 km southwest of

Kirkuk) and the district of al-Sharqat (120 km north of Tikrit) have begun today,” adding that, “The

operations are carried out by the Peshmerga forces in cooperation with al-Hashed, which includes

residents from the districts.”

Security forces cleanse Albu Faraj and Humera areas in Anbar

On Tuesday the leader of tribal fighters in Anbar province announced cleansing the areas of Albu

Faraj and al-Humera, as well as the killing of dozens of ISIS elements in northern of Ramadi, pointing

out to the progress of the military troops in the areas of Albu Aath and Albu Diab. Sheikh Rafia al-

Fahdawi said in an interview for IraqiNews.com: “The security forces were able to cleanse the areas

of Albu Faraj and Humera and kill dozens of the ISIS elements during fierce battles, in which the army

troops and the police have made a significant progress in the areas of Albu Aath and Albu Joleb.”

ISIS executes 27 of its elements for escaping from battlefield

An informed source in Hawija said, that ISIS has executed about 27 of its elements in Hawija district

in the province of Kirkuk because of their escape from the battlefield. The source informed

IraqiNews.com, “ISIS has executed about 27 militants from its elements in Hawija district, and

hanged up their bodies over a bridge in the district.

Abadi renews his criticism of previous government, accuses it of “waste of public money”

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has renewed his criticism of the previous government,

bearing it the responsibility of the waste of public money. Haider al-Abadi said in a speech during the

opening of al-Kafil Specialized Hospital in Karbala that the opening of al-Kafil Specialized Hospital is

an important achievement, while expressed his hopes for this hospital to contribute in the reception

and the treatment of the wounded from the sons of the security forces and al-Hashed al-Shaabi

forces.

6 people killed and wounded in bombing southwest of Baghdad

A source at the Interior Ministry said on Tuesday that six people had been either killed or wounded in

the explosion of an explosive device southwest of Baghdad. The source said in an interview for

IraqiNews.com: “An explosive device exploded, this morning, in a street in Amil district southwest

Baghdad, resulting in the death of two people and wounding four others.”

Khalis bombing toll rises to more than 100 dead and wounded, says Diyala Council

Diyala Provincial Council announced on Tuesday, that the outcome of Khalis bombing has rised to

more than 100 dead and wounded, while called for an investigation into the incident. The deputy

head of the council, Mohammad Jawad al-Hamdani, said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “The

outcome of yesterday’s bombing in Khalis rose to more than 100 dead and wounded.”

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has arrived on Tuesday in the city of Karbala for the opening of al-

A senior security official in Anbar province announced on Tuesday, that the security forces and al-

Hashed al-Shaabi fighters have launched an attack on two areas controlled by the ISIS organization in

Ramadi, emphasizing that those troops have arrived to al-Sharaa Garage area and al-Taqwa Mosque

in the city.

Human Rights: ISIS imposes takfiri curricula in schools and universities of Nineveh allows killing of minorities

Human Rights Commission member , Fadel al-Gharrawi said Tuesday that ISIS terrorist organization

has imposed takfiri curricula in all schools and universities in Nineveh province. Al- Gharwaa said in a

statement, that these approaches considered by the organization as " important lessons that must be

received by students and threatened all departments of schools and universities with death if they

refuse to implement the teaching of this curriculum, which urges the takfirist and violence, fear and

legitimize killing citizens as infidels or apostates or rejecters ".

Hakim: The Four-party alliance against ISIS is a correct step

British report: America is sponsoring talks in Tanzania after Doha between the Iraqi government and Baathists

According to the Independent newspaper, the United States and the United Nations are sponsoring a

meeting in Tanzania between Iraqi government officials and leaders of the Baathists for joint

cooperation between the two sides to face ISIS terrorist organization that controlled areas in the

Iraq violence: More than 60 people killed in bombings

One of the largest bombs was in the Shia-majority town of Khalis in the eastern province of Diyala,

where at least 40 people were killed. Another attack in the town of al-Zubair, about 15km (9 miles)

south-west of the oil town of Basra, is reported to have killed at least 10 people. A third bomb in

Baghdad killed at least 13 people, police said.

Taskhiri: Rulers in Iraq preferred their interests on the people

The head of the Supreme Council of Rapprochement Center among Islamic Schools , Ayatollah

Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, criticized Iraqi officials in successive governments after the fall of the former

regime. Taskhiri, one of the leaders of the institution of the Iraqi Dawa Party said in a televised

IS says it bombed Sunni area in southern Shiite city in Iraq

The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for a car bombing in Iraq's southern,

predominantly Shiite city of Basra that killed at least 10 people the day before. IS says in a statement

posted on a Twitter account linked to the group that it carried out Monday's attack in Basra's

southwest suburb of al-Zubair, targeting Shiites. The Sunni-dominated al-Zubair is located 50

kilometers (31 miles) southwest of Basra. The attack was part of a series of bombings across Iraq that

killed at least 56 people.

John Kerry raises Syria no-fly zone despite Obama’s skepticism

Secretary of State John Kerry has raised the possibility of a no-fly zone in Syria to protect civilians

even as President Barack Obama has consistently rejected the idea, several administration officials

told CNN. Officials said Kerry has asked his staff to further develop the idea and raised the issue at a

National Security Council meeting last week, where Obama discussed the U.S. strategy for stemming

the bloody civil war in Syria with his top advisers.

'Intense' New Russian Strikes in Syria: Monitor

Russian warplanes have carried out "intense" new strikes in two Syrian provinces, a monitoring group

said today. Planes "believed to be Russian" hit at least four locations in central Hama province, and

three locations in northwestern Idlib province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The

Britain-based group had no immediate tolls from the strikes overnight and in the early hours today

which were "more intense than usual".

Growing numbers of Syrian refugees in Jordan are returning to Syria, figures from the UN refugee

10 million people in Syria face food insecurity: Oxfam

Some ten million people in crisis-hit Syria do not have enough food to eat, aid agency Oxfam says. In

a Wednesday report called “Solidarity with Syrians,” the agency said global contributions to Syrians

both inside and outside their conflict-stricken country have been “utterly inadequate.” “The

international community is proving utterly inadequate in helping Syrians both inside and outside

their country,” the report said.

Sec. Kerry Asks for Plans for No-Fly Zone in Syria

In a meeting last week, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry instructed the National Security Council

and State Department staff to update plans for a potential U.S.-led no-fly zone in Syria, CNN reports.

Options include a potential area along the Syrian-Turkish border, which Ankara has encouraged for

months, or possibly an area in southern Syria along the Jordanian border. “What the secretary has

been doing is looking for ways to increase pressure on ISIL, ease the humanitarian burden, and

increase leverage for diplomacy to end the conflict,” an administration official said, noting that the

no-fly zone is “one of many ideas that he and others discussed.” President Obama has been skeptical

of the no-fly zone proposals, but he agreed to increase efforts to resupply U.S.-supported rebels in

Syria.

Ex-CIA Officer: US Congress Arms ISIL in Syria Via 'Moderate' Opposition

The US congress armed the ISIL terrorists by providing weapons to the "moderate" opposition,

former CIA counter terrorism officer and Senate Foreign Relations Committee senior investigator

John Kiriakou said. The FSA is an armed Syrian opposition faction, considered "moderate" by western

countries, fighting the Syrian army loyal to President Bashar Assad since the beginning of the war in

2011. In 2014, the US Congress allocated $500 million to create FSA force of more than 5,000 men by
