    Make this depressed area in

the concrete approximately 2.5feet x 2.5 feet square and

depressed by 2 inches. This is a

    place for playing with paint,

    which can be washed away

easily. Use a wooden board tomake this depressed area.

Make a canal from the depressed

area to the edge of the concrete

foundation to allow water inside the

depressed area to flow out freely.

Insert a PVC segment that is

    approximately 1 inch in diameter

larger than the bamboo pole for

the frame of the school into the

    concrete foundation, a few minutes

after the concrete is poured. This

should be done for each of the 12

    large frame bamboo poles.

    PVC segment is 14

inches in height. 10inches of it should

    be buried in the

    concrete

    foundation.

    Make sure that the

    PVC segments point

    straight up. Use a

    builders level to do

    this.

    sand.

    2 inches layer of sand.

  • 8/7/2019 MIE School Feb 18th 2011

    14/16

    After inserting a

bamboo pole, pourmore sand into the

    PVC segments until

    the sand reaches

    the top of the PVC

    segments. Thisstep will stabilize

    the frame

    bamboo poles.

It may be helpfulto shake (rock back

    and forth) the

    poles as they are

    filled with sand.
