This year each class will contribute to their Jar of Gratitude which will be shared in Celebration Assembly each Friday. We are reminded that the more we are thankful, the happier we will be! We are also thinking about “Pioneers and Explorers” so that we, like them, have the courage to start doing something new, so that we can become more independent. Here’s to a pioneering year! Any inhalers/epipens are the responsibility of parents to ensure they are in date and handed to your child’s class teacher. In addition if any of your children have an allergic reaction to wasp or bee stings, you must inform the school office immediately. We will always contact you if your child does get stung, so that Piriton or sting relief cream can be administered with your permission. Please make sure all your contact details and notice of any eligible adults to pick up your child are up to date. We will not allow any child to leave school with another adult unless you have given us permission to do so. This is extremely important. If for any reason you are delayed, your child will be sent to the Squirrels Club, for which you will be charged. If your child is off sick please leave a message on the absence line, otherwise the absence will be marked as unauthorised. Year One to Year Six Parents we invite you to come and work alongside your child, if you wish, on a Tuesday morning until 9.00am. We are very sad to have to tell you that our dear friend and Chair of Governors, Mrs Brenda Thompson, passed away on Friday 7 th September. She was such an inspiration to so many of us at school, and her high standards and expectations helped Worlingham CEVC Primary school to be the place that it is now. I, along with other school staff and Governors, will be attending her funeral on Thursday 11 th October. Perhaps you could spare a thought for Brenda on the 11 th as she is laid to rest in the peace and quiet of her beloved Norfolk village of Filby. Parking We have two disabled parking spaces in our staff car park. These are for visitors/ parents/carers who have a disabled badge. Please do not obstruct or park in these spaces. We have received complaints about this already and will have no option but to take registration plate details and refer them on if necessary. Thank you for your consideration.

Mighty oaks from little acorns grow growgrow

Welcome back to the Autumn Term 2018! This year

each class will contribute to their Jar of Gratitude which will be shared in Celebration Assembly each

Friday. We are reminded that the more we are

thankful, the happier we will be! We are also thinking about “Pioneers and Explorers” so that

we, like them, have the courage to start doing something new, so that we can become more independent.

Year One to Year Six Parents – we invite you

to come and work alongside your child, if you

wish, on a Tuesday morning until 9.00am.

We are very sad to have to tell you that our dear friend and Chair of Governors, Mrs Brenda Thompson, passed away on Friday 7

th September. She was such

an inspiration to so many of us at school, and her high standards and expectations helped Worlingham CEVC Primary school to be the place that it is now. I, along with other school staff and Governors, will be attending her funeral on Thursday 11

th October.

Perhaps you could spare a thought for Brenda on the 11

th as she is laid to rest in the peace and quiet of her

beloved Norfolk village of Filby.

Harvest festival

“We’ve seen a 95% increase in 3-day emergency food supplies given to people in crisis in 2017”

“1 in 5 of the UK population live below the poverty line”

These statements taken from the Waveney Foodbank website are shocking, which is why we at school will be supporting this charity again in our Harvest Assembly on Monday 1

st October. We have chosen this charity again

because we want, like them, to make sure no one has to go hungry. “The Waveney Foodbank relies on your goodwill and support”.

Urgently needed food items (as listed on Waveney Foodbank website) Pasta sauce, sugar 500g, coffee, tinned tomatoes, long life fruit juice, custard powder,

tinned vegetables, rice pudding Please send your child to school with the food gifts on Monday 1

st October. A representative from the Foodbank will

be at our assembly to talk to the children. Thank you so much for your support with this and for our school in general. We look forward to a happy and successful year working in partnership with you.

OPEN DAY

There is an Open Day for new Reception intake (September 2019) parents and carers on Monday 12th November. There will be two sessions that parents can attend for a tour of the school: 10.00-11.30am or 1.30-3.00pm Please pass on this information to any prospective parents/carers.

We are delighted to tell you that we will be holding a Book Fair after school on Monday 15th

to Thursday 18th October in the KS1 exhibition area.

Please come along and support us!

Many of our children either cycle or ride scooters to school.

Please remind them to ride them safely, not to crowd the gate and not to weave in and out of parents and children walking to school.

If you have any

letters, slips,

correspondence

that you wish to

leave at school,

please place in

the red box in

the school foyer.

This is emptied

daily.
