A101yearoldmanwaspulledalivefromtherubbleofhishouseinNepalsevendaysafteritcollapsedinadeadlyearthquake,policesaidonSunday.

FunchuTamangwasrescuedonSaturdaywithonlyminorinjuriesandairliftedtoadistricthospital,ArunKumarSingh,alocalpoliceofficer,toldAFP.

"Hewasbroughttothedistricthospitalinahelicopter.Hisconditionisstable,"saidSinghinNuwakotdistrictaround50milesnorthwestofKathmandu.

"Hehasinjuriesonhisleftankleandhand.Hisfamilyiswithhim."

"Theyarebeingtakentohospitalfortreatment,"saidSurajKhadka,anofficerwiththeArmedPoliceForceinKathmandu.

Nepal'sgovernmenthadonSaturdayruledoutfindingmoresurvivorsburiedintheruinsofKathmandu.

Multipleteamsofrescuersfrommorethan20countrieshavebeenusingsnifferdogsandheatseekingequipmenttofindsurvivorsintherubbleofthecapital.

Butoutsidethecitysearchandrescueworkhaslargelybeencarriedoutbylocalpoliceandtroops.
