Mirai 未来 is a Japanese word for Future.

We chose this name for the first boiler entirely designed and built by Rinnai Corporation

for the Western market. Mirai best interprets the combination of traditional systems and

condensing technology. In fact, while integrating perfectly with different plant engineering

solutions, it is designed to optimize condensing technology on radiator systems, thus

responding concretely to the money-saving and eco-sustainability requirements of these

heating systems, which are extremely widespread but often unable to take full advantage of

the benefits of condensation. A pleasing appearance and compact dimensions make Mirai

the ideal solution for both initial installations and replacements.

We are ErP Ready

Thanks to the coming into effect of European regulations on ErP (Energy related Products), the aim of which is to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact through eco-design, condensing boilers are the only ones marketable from 26 September 2015. Condensing technology also recovers the heat contained in the water vapour of combustion products, which is otherwise dispersed. This results in significant operating savings both as regards new heating systems and in the event of replacement of obsolete equipment in existing systems. Mirai boilers are class 5 (the most environmentally friendly according to UNI EN 297 and UNI EN 483 standards) with reduced emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon monoxide (CO). The range of Rinnai condensing boilers is able to benefit from tax deductions and has a performance that meets the standards required by current legislation (Italian Legislative Decree no. 192/05 and subsequent amendments). By choosing the new optional Wi-Fi timer-thermostat complete with dedicated Mirai APP, which represents a “building automation” tool, it is possible to benefit from a 65% energy-saving tax bonus.As established by Directive 2009/125/EC, heat generators must be made according to eco-design guidelines and comply with mandatory energy performance requirements, and must be supplied to the end user with energy efficiency labels, as established by Directive 2010/30/EU.

Mirai comes with product label and system label. The Rinnai boiler is in fact controlled by an intelligent external thermostat, which can also be installed in a different room to the boiler. The thermostat can operate autonomously or integrate perfectly with a room timer-thermostat, either a pre-existing one or one supplied as an accessory by Rinnai, thus providing a simplified boiler control option.

SMART ADJUSTMENT

The thermostat is the boiler’s brain. Elegant in design, easy to use, also thanks to the coloured display, the control panel shows the operating temperature, the operating modes and allows easily adjusting all the basic operating parameters of the boiler, such as the desired room or shower temperature, in a totally intuitive way.

HEAT EXCHANGE

Mirai features a copper heat exchange system, with wide flow section: this facilitates the integration on existing radiator systems and simplifies cleaning operations. The perfect solution for traditional, often imperfect installations.

EASY INSTALLATION, ANYWHERE

Comfort has never been so simple

Like all Rinnai Infinity water heaters, Mirai boilers are specially designed to make installation easier. The device is small, lightweight and compact. It is ready to use and does not need to be configured.Any boiler, due to combustion, produces fumes that must be expelled outside. Mirai’s fume system is split into ø80/80 and, thanks to the high fan head, up to 30 linear metres equivalent can be reached. Wall exhaust is also possible without having to rise above the roof ridge in case of specific conditions governed by technical regulations.Replacing an outdated boiler with a new Mirai appliance, including with greater output, is often also possible while maintaining the existing gas line. Mirai’s sophisticated electronics, in fact, optimize combustion speed by guaranteeing the highest possible performance and controlling pollutant emissions. In order to determine this type of intervention and check the legal provisions for gas fume exhausts, we recommend you always contact a trusted installer or us directly.

Comfort has never been so simple

Thanks to the dedicated RINNAI APP, available for Apple and Android smart phones, setting and changing boiler operation has never been so simple. If maintaining a constant environment temperature throughout the day means wasting energy, all you need do is download the APP and activate daily and weekly programming from your smart phone to cut consumption while maintaining home comfort.

Thanks to the APP, you can turn the boiler on and off from any distance, reset it in case of malfunction, receive status notices and change the settings in case of unexpected changes in plan, such as a last-minute dinner engagement, or set the alarm clock which, by synchronizing with that of your smart phone, starts the boiler ten minutes before the morning wake-up, so the shower is straight away nice and hot

From just one APP, it is also possible to manage the operation of several boilers at the same time, for example your own boiler and that of your elderly parents, or that in your holiday mountain home and enable several members of the family to control the boiler.

Save limits max operating temperature and controls the pump to reduce consumption;

Sleep lasting six hours altogether, during which time the operation of the boiler varies according to the sleeping schedule of the body.

TO MANAGE AND CONTROL THE BOILER IN TOTAL FREEDOM, ANYWHERE AND

AT ANY TIME, THERE IS AN ACCESSORY WI-FI CONTROL UNIT.

Our houses are not all the same. Just think of geographical position, exposure to the sun, degree of heat dispersion and type of heating system. A good boiler is able to control all these factors, inside and outside the house and to understand by itself, in an automatic way, how to operate to maintain set living comfort, without any need for physical intervention. While, as regards internal factors, the room timer-thermostat is a valid aid for the boiler (which receives the signal to switch on if home temperature is lower than that set), inside the heat generator there is nothing to monitor how cold the outside temperature is and therefore the boiler has no indication of how much output to deliver in order to reach the desired room temperature, in the right time and without waste.

The external probe is the only accessory available to the boiler to monitor the

temperature outside the house and act accordingly. However, the installation of

the probe is not immediate either for the installer (who must locate the exact

position, facing North and never exposed to direct sunlight, connect it to the boiler

and configure it) or for the end user (who must purchase the accessory and incur

additional labour costs).

Mirai solves all these problems: it features an integrated climate probe, acquires a complete vision of everything that happens around it and adjusts itself accordingly, in an intelligent way. By selecting the AUTO function, the integrated probe detects the outdoor temperature while the sensor located on the control panel measures the temperature inside the home. Mirai receives these inputs and, after necessary electronic processing, takes them into account to adapt its operation and operate in sliding-temperature climate control, thus ensuring desired levels of comfort.

ANTIFREEZE

As is usual with Rinnai products, Mirai is also IPX5D certified and comes standard with an automatic antifreeze kit able to withstand down to -20°C, which protects the heating circuit and domestic hot water production of the appliance from harsh temperatures. Thanks to this function, Mirai can be installed not only indoors but also outdoors without any need for protection, as long as the hydraulic connection pipes are properly insulated (to prevent freezing), the connection of the combustion air intake and exhaust pipes is tight (to avoid the risk of infiltration) and the power supply and gas supply are always guaranteed, in order to maintain the operation of the antifreeze kit.

WARRANTY Service quality and customer care are important values for Rinnai. In order to preserve the integrity of the boiler and maintain its safety and performance characteristics over time, annual maintenance is recommended. Rinnai provides a widespread network of more than 300 authorized Technical Assistance Centres, highly skilled because they are constantly updated by means of refresher courses, as well as a pre-sales organization throughout Italy and in its headquarters to help professional technicians and private customers to select the right product for their needs.

INTEGRATED CONDENSATION

NEUTRALIZER

Like any high-efficiency condensing boiler, during operation Mirai produces condensate, i.e. water with acidic pH, non-potable and corrosive, which must necessarily be drained off. Disposal of acidic condensation causes damage to the house pipes (channels, gutters, etc.) and to the environment. To avoid corrosive effects, Mirai features a special internal siphon which, with the addition of granulate (available as an accessory), neutralizes the acidity of the condensate, making it completely harmless. The Mirai system is thus doubly advantageous for the end user, who does not have to pay any additional costs either for the purchase or the installation of an external neutralizer, and does not have to occupy further space outside the generator.

AUTO MODE By selecting this operation mode, thanks to the integrated external probe, you choose to be able to forget the boiler: on its own, it activates when needed, with the output and time required to provide you with all the heat and hot water you need. A single button for relaxation that lasts throughout the winter season.

COMFORT DHW MODE In keeping with Japanese tradition, Mirai also pays particular attention to the production of domestic hot water. By selecting the preheating mode, Mirai brings the dhw exchanger to temperature, waiting for a supply point to be opened. This way, waiting times are reduced to zero and hot water is immediately at disposal. After 30 minutes, the generator returns to normal operation, deactivating this mode and avoiding unnecessary waste.
