MISSION EDUCATION Because we believe in nurturing interest in missions among young people, Woodmont Hills annually allocates a portion of its mission budget for partial funding of short- term, foreign mission experiences. Priority is given to college-age young people with a relationship to Woodmont Hills and to areas where we have a missionary presence. SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIPS Visits to our mission sites build relationships with our mission partners, help us get to know their needs, and encourage them and the churches they serve. At the same time, the visits bless those who make the journey. Service opportunities on these trips include teaching, preaching, translating, working with youth in the churches, assisting with medical care, construction, and many forms of outreach. The mission committee welcomes your interest and involvement. WOODMONT HILLS MISSION PHILOSOPHY The Woodmont Hills Church, represented by its shepherds, deacons of mission and mission committee, holds to the following views and goals for mission work supported by this church: To see God glorified through the image of Christ, in every mission location. To bear witness to the Christ through caring and sharing ministries. To provide for both spiritual and physical needs through our mission work. To make a commitment of significant resources to sponsored missionaries and outreaches. INDIA – TAMAR MINISTRYThis Jesus - modeled ministry was birthed in Mumbai in 2007 to lead women out the destructive life of prostitution. The ministry also helps rescue girls from trafficking and sex slavery by helping meet their basic needs, providing safe houses, medical care, job training, and especially with spiritual mentoring. Special donations help provide further care for the rescued women and their children. This summer a

Lipscomb mission team led a Tamar Childrens Bible Club and shared the Gospel with 129 Tamar children.

GHANA – KENNEDY OSEI-HWEDIEKennedy has led the church of Christ at Kona since 1999 and has helped establish many churches in the Kumasi area; he is well respected for his church leadership training. His primary work is operation of a Christian counseling ministry that provides multiple services. In 2014 he and his wife Victoria, with 20+ years of childhood education experience, opened a private Christian elementary school whose facility is also used by a local church. They trust this will open great doors for the Gospel to be preached in the school community and beyond.

PAKISTAN – ERIC MASIHWoodmont Hills has supported the Kingdom work of Eric Masih for over 25

years as he shares Jesus under the most dangerous of circumstances in Pakistan. He and his team of workers serve in many diverse communities with the approval of anti-Christian government and local leaders whose respect Eric has earned. He has planted numerous churches, nurturing and encouraging them to live out their faith with courage and to minister to all in need; he has initiated and led repeated disaster relief efforts in the Lahore area. Eric walks daily by faith, refusing to live in fear in a country of frequent Christian persecution.

EL SALVADOR – BOANERGES FLORESA Baxter Institute graduate, Boanerges has started numerous community churches and oversees the growth of the lead church in the mountainous area of Santiago de Maria. A tireless worker for the Lord, his ministry includes church development and encouragement to the various church leaders. Scholarship support for children in the El Salvador churches is available, providing funding for school fees, supplies and uniforms that are requisite for enrollment but not affordable for most families.

EL SALVADOR – EFRAIN GUTIERREZAnother long-term missionary of Woodmont Hills, Efrain focuses his work in the major city of San Miguel, in eastern El Salvador, and has overseen the work of the Holy Spirit in growing seven churches in the area. Efrain uses his strong communication skills to host a Christian radio program and to guide and mentor local ministers. The next generation of Christians is being raised in El Salvador, in great part a result of the Woodmont Hills-sponsored student scholarship program for children and youth in the churches there.

NICARAGUA – VALENTIN FLORESBased in Chinandega, Valentin works with the Puerta de Piedra, Las Brisas and Leon churches in El Viejo, one of the poorest areas in northwest Nicaragua. These churches oversee successful agricultural and pig co-ops that have enabled many families to become self-sufficient. Under Valentin’s administration, Woodmont Hills also supports a scholarship program that sends 50 children to school each year who would not be able to attend otherwise.

GUATEMALA – DR. WALTER SIERRADr. Sierra is a Guatemalan medical doctor supported by Woodmont Hills through Health Talents International. With the Ezell Clinic as his base, he rotates mobile clinics throughout the surrounding rural areas treating the Mayan Indian population that lacks adequate health care because of discrimination. Woodmont Hills and other North American medical professionals volunteer their time to perform surgery and translate, with local Christians doing follow-up while sharing the love of Christ with patients.

INDIA – GRACE HOME ORPHANAGE Grace Home was established in 1999 after a major typhoon left many children orphaned. The home now shelters children whose parents are victims of persecution for their Christian beliefs. Trained social worker Steven Jyothi directs the program that oversees the care, protection and education of 40+ children. Sponsorships that provide primary funding for the children’s basic needs are available through the Woodmont Hills Mission Committee for $50/month. Contact Wayne Lindsay at [email protected] for details.
