Merry Christmas!

We are so thankful for everyone who has supported Grace Home in any way in the past year. It’s certainly been a crazy one! From the anticipation of our grand opening, to the devastation of a tornado, through all the rebuilding and the expectation of reopening, the One who is Faithful and True has never abandoned us. In this season of joy, as we remember the birth of our Savior, we pray that you will be struck anew by God’s amazing gift of Jesus. “Long lay the world in sin and error pining till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.”

2015: A Year of GraceHere’s a look back at the year. We’ve been through a lot! In March, Grace Home was completed.

In April, we worked on decorating and furnishing the home as well as

training the houseparents.

On May 9th, we had our grand opening!

On May 23rd, a tornado hit Grace Home. God graciously and immediately provided temporary housing for our houseparents.

Although the home was destroyed, theadministrative building was untouched.

During the summer, we regrouped, worked on insurance issues, and prayed about how to move forward. We decided to use the administrative building as a temporary home for our houseparents and future residents while we began the rebuilding process.

In September, we hired our assistant houseparent, Lesley Luna.

Find out more about Lesley on page 9.

In October, Katelyn became our first resident!

Besides learning about basic infant care, she has already tried her hand at crochet and bread-making thanks to our volunteers.

In November, we held our first gender-reveal party. Katelyn is having a boy and his name is Camden Levi.

In December, we hired relief houseparents Josh and Jessica Cockroft, and Katelyn was baptized!

As of late December, the cabinetry is completed and we are ready to begin painting and staining the interior of Grace Home. We are hopeful that we will be able to move into the finished building on or around the 1st of March, 2016. We have already had many delightful volunteers come in to participate in

Grace Home programs, and we hope to continue those activities. We are so grateful for the community support that we have received. Currently we can take in one additional resident; when we move into the new building, we will be able to house up to six girls.

January 16: New Volunteer Training

James 1:27: “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” Many women who come into a maternity home don’t have the support of a husband or family. They are cultural widows and orphans who need the body of Christ as their family.

Join us on Saturday, January 16th, from 10:00 to 2:00 for our Grace Home Volunteer Training to learn how you can be a part of this important ministry. Our sessions will include “Willing Hands & Loving Hearts,” “Understanding the Culture,” “Parenting Plans,” and “Where Should I Serve?” No role is unimportant; we have a place for you, including remote serving opportunities. See page 9 for some immediate needs.

We will provide lunch. Contact Julie at [email protected] to register.

Inside LookAn interview with Lesley Luna, who joined Grace Home in September as our assistant houseparent.

What does your job entail? My job is very similar to that of the houseparents. SinceKatelyn came, I’ve been baking a lot with her; I alsoshepherd her in her new walk with the Lord. I’m able togive her some medical information about pregnancybecause I’m studying to be a neonatal physician, and sheused to work as a pharmacy technician so she teaches meabout that, too. We’ve been able to learn a lot from eachother!

What’s rewarding about working here at Grace Home?Katelyn and I get along well. Being able to help her is very fulfilling, especially since I want to be a neonatalphysician.

What do you like to do in your free time?I love to travel! I recently went to Hawaii and I have trips planned to Belize and Greece. My favorite place that I have visited is Paris.

Thank you for all your hard work, Lesley! You are a blessing.
