from!!

Computer Software Engineer

Median annual salary is $92,340

(Awesome!)

At least a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Computer software engineers design and

develop software.

Statistician

Median annual Salary is $72,610

A Master’s degree in Statistics or Math is usually

the minimum requirement.

Statisticians develop statistics and work with

data. They will also create surveys and

experiments.

“About 30 percent of statisticians work for Federal, State, and local

governments; private-industry employers include scientific research and development services, insurance

carriers, and pharmaceutical and medicine manufacturing.” -Bureau of Labor and Statistics

Actuaries

Median annual salary is $84,810

(NICE!)

Actuaries are essential in the insurance

industry because these are the people

who calculate insurance costs for

clients of insurance agencies.

They rely heavily on statistics and take

account of age, gender, history, etc. when

calculating the cost of insurance.

Mathematicians

Median annual salary is $95,150 (Woohoo!)

PhD in Mathematics is essential. With this particular field you get the

chance to work with theoretical or applied math almost everyday!

Operations Research Analyst

Median annual salary is $69,000 (Sweet!)

Master’s or Ph.D will suffice. “Operations research analysts formulate and apply mathematical modeling methods to develop and interpret information that assists

management with policy formulation and other managerial functions.” -Bureau of Labor and

Statistics

These are just a few examples

of careers involving math.

Math can go beyond high school and

create a very successful

career.

So next time you say, “I will never use this in the ‘real’

world…”
