We are pleased to present you this Sixth edition of MMM e-CONNECT. The objective of newsletters is to keep the members informed of the activities in the Mandal, recent developments and future programmes. A feedback and suggestion from the members is always welcome.

We are approaching towards end of the term of this team which took over on 28th June 2014 for two years. This year the Committee has decided to hold Annual General Meeting of Members in first half of May 2016 which will give enough time to the new committee elected in the forthcoming AGM, to prepare for Diwali Ball 2016. Formal notice of meeting will be sent by the Secretary soon. I take this opportunity to thank all the members for their support to this team for various activities undertaken during the tenor.

No society can run smoothly without active participation and support of members. Mandal is a platform for you to provide your services to the community. I make an appeal to all the members to spare a small portion of their valuable time to contribute towards the society.

My sincere thanks to fellow members of the Management Team, who worked hard and put in all possible efforts to make it a memorable and successful term for Mandal.

Singapore Gujarati Society Celebrated 60th year on 20th February 2016. President of MMM Mr.Santosh Kumar Tibarewala Represented Mandal to this event

Gita Chanting and Havan On invitation of Gita Jayanti organizing Committee, Members of MMM participated in Gita Chanting and Havan organized on 20th March 2016.

Post Budget Dialogue Session President Mr. Santosh Kumar Tibarewala and Treasurer Krishna Kumar Bagaria participated in Post Budget dialogue session on invitation of Integration Division of Peoples Association on 31st March 2016. Dr. Janil Puthucheary , Minister of State, Ministry of Commerce and Information & Ministry of Education was Guest of Honour

Blood Donation Drive Sunday, 3rd January 2016 SCA Kallang Ground, 31 Stadium

Crescent, Singapore 397639.

Blood Donation drive was done in association with Singapore Sindhi Association, Amber Neighborhood Committee, Singapore Gujarati Society and Maharastra Mandal Singapore. Members of all participating organizations supported the noble cause by donating blood. Total 63 people donated their blood on this day.

Holika Dahan Tuesday, 22nd March 2016

Sri Sivan Temple, 24 Geylang East Avenue 2, Singapore 389752.

Marwari Mitra Mandal Singapore and Singapore Gujarati Society jointly organized the Holika Dahan Program at court yard of Sri Sivan Temple. Pyre was lit after Pujan. People from Marwari Community as well as Gujarati Community participated with their friends and family.

Holika Dahan is symbol of the victory of Good over Evil. People gather around the fire and pray. After Pujan, prashad was distributed and was received by more than 1000 persons.

Holi Mela 2016 Friday, 25th March 2016

Open Field between Costa Rhu & Pebble Bay, Tanjong Rhu View,

Singapore. Traditional Color Playing Event, Holi, was jointly organized by Marwari Mitra Mandal (Singapore), Singapore Gujarati Society, Singapore Sindhi Association and Maharastra Mandal Singapore along with Katong CCMC. The Event was also supported by The Kamala Club Singapore.

More than 3000 members of various societies, not only from Indian Community but other communities too, gathered to play Holi with their friends and family. This was an example of integration and harmony between various communities.

Mr. Lim Biow Chuan, Deputy Speaker of Parliament and advisor to Mountbatten Grassroots Organizations, MP-Mountbatten SMC was the Guest of Honor. He mingled among the participants and played Holi with them. Indian High Commission in Singapore was represented by Acting High Commissioner Mr. Paramita Tripathi and First Secretary (Commerce) Mr. Pradyumn Tripathi.

Various Cultural performances were presented by all the participating organizations as well as Katong CCMC.

Rajasthani Holi Dance was Presented by the Mandal.

Weddings Mandal would like to congratulate the Members and Best Wishes to Newly Weds: 1) Ms. Astha Aggarwal daughter of Mr. Krishan Kumar Aggarwal and Ms. Sangita Aggarwal was married to Sri Tarang Agarwal (son of Mr. & Mrs Pramod Agarwal of Geneva) on 22nd December 2015. Our Congratulations to Aggarwal Families.

2) Our Member Mr. Navin Bafna got married to Ms. Eliza Tan on 29th January 2016. Congratulations to Navin and Eliza.

3) Our congratulations to Mr. Surya Jhunjhunuwala and Ms. Ritu Jhunjhunuwala for wedding of their daughter Shivika with Shashwat Goenka on 29th January 2016.

4) Ms. Amisha Kabra, daughter of Sri Chandra Prakash Kabra and Ms. Jyoti Kabra was married to Mr. Mohit Sharda , son of Sri Seeta Ram ji and Smt. Gayatri ji Sharda on 14th February Congratulations to Kabra and Sharda Family.

Congratulations to the Members with Blessings to the New Born Babies: Deepika daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Sunil Garg was blessed with a Baby Girl on 28 March 2016. Our Congratulations to Garg and Patel Family.

Condolences Mr. Din Dayan Didwania and Mr. Vinod Didwania lost their beloved mother Mrs. Basanti Devi Didwania (W/O late Ram Gopal ji Didwania) on 31st January 2016. Our condolences to Didwania Family.

Mr. Bajrang Sharma lost his elder brother Mahabir Prashad ji on 22nd February 2016. Our Condolences to Sharma Family
