Since we have not yet sold the paintings that David Cooley generously donated, we are exploring other options of potentially selling them through Ziegler’s or Richard Neel Interiors. If anyone else has suggestions for methods to sell them, please contact Ed Payton.



SOCIALS:Class Outing To See BABA’s Production of ANYTHING GOES – On July 31st, we will end the month by going out to lunch as a class after the 11:00 service and then attending the closing matinee performance of Anything Goes. We are sending sign-up lists around each Sunday in July and need payment at time of sign-up so that we can purchase tickets and get great seats. There is lots of Maranatha talent in the cast and on the production crew so we should have a



great time supporting our own! Put July 31st on your calendar and plan to enjoy those tapping toes in Anything Goes!

MISSIONS:SERVING DINNER FOR ST. LUKE’S REDEMPTION CHURCH: Our mission project this month is to serve dinner at St. Luke’s. It will be well organized so that your time is well spent, but you will



make a powerful impact upon people who need you. Sign-up sheets are being passed around in class. If you are available to help, please contact Jim Embrey or Glenna Arnott.

Stuart Smith (son of Alan & Jane Smith) and his wife recently had their third child, a healthy baby boy. Alan & Jane were poised to start spoiling him in Arkansas, but the baby coyly delayed his arrival until after his grandparents had returned to Tulsa.

We are grieving the death of our own James Kilman. Please keep his daughters Darryl and Renee in your prayers, as well as all other touched by this painful loss.

Lynn Russell sought prayer for her father, who has been moved to hospice care, and their family.

Kendall Carpenter asked that we pray for Grant Pinkstaff, the BAUMC child who was shot in the head by a stray bullet during the Fourth of July fireworks celebration at Mohawk Park.



Jim & Julee Embrey could use our support over the next days, as their son Sam left for basic training on Tuesday, July 12th. While they (and all of us) are extremely proud of Sam, it is very hard to see him go so far away for so long at such a young age.

Rev. EvaMarie Campbell’s father, Rev. Charles Herndon, could use our prayers as he is now under hospice care and very weak. Please also pray for other members of their family as they move through this process with him.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:BABA USHERS NEEDED If you would like to see BABA’s production of Anything Goes for free, please consider ushering for a performance. You would need to arrive at 6:30 on Friday, 7/22, Thursday, 7/28, or Friday, 7/29, or by 2:00 on Sunday, 7/24 or Sunday, 7/31. You would pass out programs and assist patrons to their seats and stay afterward to help tidy the theatre for the next performance. If you are interested, please contact Denise Klein.



GRADUATION FOR CLASS MEMBER Our Apartment M Resident and class member Lee-Lee Defreitas is preparing to graduate from the Exodus House program, with the graduation ceremony and celebration is scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, July 26 th. Maranatha is invited to help send her off with warm wishes for her future success and happiness. If you plan to attend, please email Sharon Earley and plan to bring a side dish to accompany sandwiches and dessert. Lee-Lee plans to move back to Georgia to live with her father after graduation

MOVING ASSISTANCE NEEDED Class member Kip Jones has requested assistance moving from a ground floor apartment at 61st and Peoria to a third floor apartment at 131st on July 29th &



30th. He has rented a truck and just needs help loading and unloading the furniture items. Rev. Bill Crowell was helping Kip makes plans for the move, but isn’t here to complete the task! If any of you are available on July 29th or 30th to help Kip move to his new place, please contact him using the cell phone or email addresses listed in the Maranatha directory.

BOSTON AVENUE SUMMIT Those of you who have not yet taken a Spiritual Formation Class have another opportunity on Friday, July 22nd from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 23rd from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It will be led by Pat Luna, Rev. David Wiggs and Rev. Sara Pugh Montgomery. Child care is available. To register, call (918) 699-0147. This is a powerful event!



CLASS DISCUSSION GUIDELINES - We are a large class with many people who have lots of interesting things to say. In order to give everyone an opportunity to voice their comments, we are incorporating into our weekly lessons the discussion guidelines that Marita Morgan taught us: (1) Only one comment per person per class. (2) Economy of words. (3). Speak loudly so everyone has an opportunity to hear you. Thank you for adhering to these discussion guidelines so that we will all have an opportunity to participate in the discussions and benefit from hearing each other.
