Launch Pad

LaunchPad is an easy to use, graphical application that serves as a central launching point for all important applications. It supports multiple pages, large icons, and eye-catching graphics. Single finger launch, and tap and drag scrolling make LaunchPad easy and friendly.

RKDU

The Harris 117G and 152 radios can be remote controlled using the RKDU (Remote Keypad/Display Unit). The operator can keep the radio stowed and still access all Radio functions via a large, easy to use graphical display. There is also a RKDU for the Coastal Defense MVR-IV. The Thales MBITR RKDU is currently under development.

Re-programmable Buttons

The UTD has 5 software re-programmable hard buttons that can be designated to perform specific tasks. These tasks include System events such as Windows Standby, Screen events such as Screen Capture to a file, AppConfig shortcuts, or Video Port Switching. The buttons can be programmed using a simple, graphical application.

Sync/Async

The on-board FPGA controls the internal COM port utilized by the supported radios. This COM port can be configured, through an easy graphical application, to support both Synchronous and Asynchronous modes. The supported radios determine the requirement of Sync/Async. The software simply makes it easy for the user to set the mode.

BIT

Built In Test. Both the UTD and the MTS perform a Built-In-Test on every power up. The results of these tests are displayed on the Diagnostic Screen in the Status and Configuration Utility (StatCon). The presence of peripherals such as the HMD or GPS as well as the internal operation of system components are displayed. The BIT tests can also be run after startup by the user. These results are also displayed on the Diagnostic Screen in StatCon.

App Config

AppConfig provides a simple and easy way to save and restore your Application Configuration. Once you launch, size, and locate all your applications, AppConfig memorizes that configuration as a Preset. Presets can be restored with a single Tap on the AppConfig GUI, or via a LaunchPad shortcut. All applications are automatically started and placed- allowing the operator to execute faster with less effort.

Low Temperature Storage

The MTS shall operate normally following storage according to MIL-STD-810G, Method 502.5, Procedure I at -40C (non-operational).

High Temperature

The MTS shall operate per MIL-STD-810G, Method 501.5, Procedure I and Procedure II, +60C Operational, +75C Non-Operational (storage). [Battery charge suspended above +60C cell temperature, MTS installed on tactical plate-carrier vest].

Immersion

The MTS shall meet Operational: MIL-STD-810G, Method 512.5, Procedure I (One meter of water, 30 minutes).

Altitude

The MTS shall meet Operational: MIL-STD-810G Method 500.5, Procedure II, 8,000 feet. Non-Operational (storage): Procedure I, 40,000 feet.

Drop Shock

The MTS, while installed on the tactical plate-carrier vest, shall operate normally during and after being subjected to five drops on the face and five drops on the back (10 drops total) into 4” of gravel from a height equivalent to a 6’ person falling forward and backward while wearing the vest. Utilize MIL-STD-810G Method 516.6 as a guideline. May be performed over two UUT samples; surface abrasion and cosmetic damage is acceptable.
