We have outlined below some general guidelines for your informaon. Chicken pox is a viral infecon caused by the varicella-zoster virus. Symptoms include fever and “cold-like” symptoms followed by a rash. The rash appears as blisters which crust to form scabs. The rash is more noceable on the trunk than on the limbs and may affect the scalp and the inside of the mouth, nose and throat. The rash is usually itchy. Incubaon period (me between becoming infected and developing symptoms) is two - three weeks, commonly thirteen – seventeen days. Infecous period (me during which an infected person can infect others) is from two days before the rash appears (during coughing, runny nose stage) unl 5 days aſter the appearance of the first blister. Control of spread exclude person with chickenpox unl fully recovered or for at least five days aſter the rash first appears. Note that some remaining scabs are not a reason for connued exclusion any child with an immune deficiency (eg leukaemia) or receiving chemotherapy should be excluded from contact with a case of chicken pox or shingles for their own protecon wash hands aſter contact with soiled arcles (ssues, etc.). Please contact the school if you would like further informaon or if your child has a confirmed case of chicken pox. GOVERNING COUNCIL The Governing Council recently held its Annual General Meeng where reports were tabled outlining the performance and achievements for the school during 2016. A full copy of the 2016 Annual Report will be uploaded onto our website in the coming days with hard copies also available from the front office. Nominaons were received for connuing and new council members. We sll have one posion available for 2017, if any parents are looking to join this year’s council. Please contact the front office if you are interested. CHICKEN POX We have been informed that a few of our students have contracted Chicken Pox. We have outlined below some general guidelines for your information. Some of its uses include alerts, news, reminders, permission notes and information pages. This app is available for all families to download. Instructions for the download process are available from the front office. So that we can have accurate records of who is using this

SOFTBALL STATE CARNIVAL Congratulations to Hayden, Seth M and Seth J for being selected in the Riverland SAPSASA Softball team to play in the State Carnival in Adelaide in week 10 (April 3-7). MAMMOTH MONASH MARKET MEETING The Mammoth Monash Market is our annual school fundraiser and continues to be a significant event on the local calendar. This year the market day falls on Sunday, 28th May. The success of our market is built on a combined effort between staff, students and parents. Plans for the 2017 Mammoth Monash Market are under-way and our first meeting has been set for Tuesday, 4th April at 7.00pm in the school library. This meeting is open to all families and we would love to see a big turnout of parents ready to support the 2017 Market. Please contact Jane in the front office for further information.

WANTED—POTS Families are already asking for pots in readiness for the Plants and Produce stall at our Mammoth Monash Market. If you have any spare, please drop to the school or contact Michele on 0437 380 622 if pick up is required.

This week some 6/7 students are making quiche for the school lunches. The quiche will be served with a salad making it a healthier option for a school lunch and will cost $4.50, which is a real bargain. We would also like to say a massive thankyou to Glenview Poultry Farm for donating some eggs, we really appreciate it. All the money raised from the school lunches will go towards the Yr 6/7 Canberra camp at the end of the year. Your help would be much appreciated, so come and buy our quiche and salad for $4.50!
