Words of Appreciation I would like to thank all the Hibben Family for all the prayers, calls, cards and support during the last few weeks after my mother, Doris Shuler, passed away. All your kindness has helped our family start the healing process that we know will take some time. Mom always loved her visits to Hibben over the years and always said how welcomed she felt here. We thank all of you and pray God’s blessings. ~ Eric Shuler and family

Help Feed Our Volunteers Would your Sunday School class or small group help feed our VBS volunteers? Lunch is needed for around 50 volunteers each day at the conclusion of VBS. If you can help, please contact Amy McCurley at [email protected] or (843) 709-4937.
Let’s Finish It! Thank you for your generous support of Hibben's debt reduction effort. Recent activity in our "Let's Finish It" campaign has been encouraging. Since 2008 Hibben has reduced its mortgage obligation by 90% from $1,200,000 to a level of $103,693 today. As a result, we have reduced annual interest expense by more than $40,000. These funds are now applied to support many of the critical ministries Hibben sponsors.
Thank you, all of you, for your generosity. Those pink envelopes in the pew are a good reminder of this continuing initiative.
~ Rev. Ray

This Week Featuring
Sandie Griffith
June “Sandie” Griffith was born in Chester, SC, in the Methodist parsonage. Sandie’s nickname was given by her older brother, Reverend Dr. George Duffie (a former Hibben pastor). Her parents wanted to call her by her middle name Mellosan; but George, being only four years old, pronounced it “Sandy.” The nickname has carried through the years. Sandie received her B.A. degree in History from Columbia College and continued her graduate work at Winthrop College. She and her husband, Ronald, were married in 1963 and welcomed two daughters, Robin and Elaine. Sandie is a published authoress in the South Carolina Advocate, Response, The Columbian, The Criterion, and a booklet, The Unique Flower. After her husband’s death in 1998, she moved to Mt. Pleasant after retiring as a public school teacher. Joining Hibben in 2004, Sandie has been involved in teaching Sunday School and Bible Study leadership. As a certified lay speaker, she has conducted worship services in churches and area retirement homes. Sandie enjoys spending time with her two somewhat mischievous dogs, Sparky and Gracie.
