DJECA - MONTENEGRO AIRLINES PUTNICI

Ono πto je isto za svako, pa i zaovo posebno putovanje, jestevaπe obraÊanje MontenegroAirlines bookingu ili prodaj-nom agentu. Naπi agenti sa

zadovoljstvom Êe vam pruæiti detaljnu infor-maciju o moguÊnostima putovanja do æelje-ne destinacije. Prilikom rezervacije, biÊete umoguÊnosti da ostvarite pravo na popustekoje naπa kompanija odobrava svojim na-jmlaim putnicima. Kada ostvarite ove po-puste, karta Êe sadræati sledeÊe oznake:

NEPRA∆ENA DJECA - UNACCOMPANIED MINORS (UM)

Montenegro Airlines prihva-tiÊe na prevoz nepraÊenudjecu (oznaka na kartiUM) od 5 do 12 godinastarosti na zahtjev njiho-

vih roditelja ili staratelja. Djeci mlaoj od 5godina kompanija obezbjeuje pratioca -sluæbenika Montenegro Airlinesa. U sluËajuda je broj nepraÊene djece veÊi od 10, oba-vezno je povecanje broja stjuardesa na tomletu (tzv. proπirena posada).

Djeca se prihvataju na let nakon πto ro-ditelji ili staratelji ispune Izjavu, tj. UM-form.Kopija ove Izjave biÊe priloæena uz avionskukartu djeteta.

Prilikom rezervisanja karte, treba naznaËitikoliko dijete ima godina, imena osoba koje

BRIGA O DJETETU

Od momenta javljanja na odlet(check in) i prolaska kroz paso-πku i carinsku kontrolu pa doulaska u avion, sluæbenici Mon-tenegro Airlinesa brinuÊe se o

djetetu, kako bi mu obezbijedili πto opuπte-nije i komfornije putovanje. Kada dijete pu-tuje samo, obezbijeena mu je pratnja do avi-ona. Na ulazu u avion brigu o njemu preuzimaperser (πef kabinskog osoblja), uz pismenupotvrdu o prihvatu djeteta. NepraÊeno dijetesmjeπta se u prednji dio aviona na sjediπte uprvom redu ekonomske klase, i to bliæe pro-lazu, nikako pored prozora, osim ako putujeviπe nepraÊene djece na letu, kada se smjeπta-ju zajedno u prvom redu ekonomske klase.

BRIGA O DJETETU NA TRANZITNOM AERODROMU

Za vrijeme boravka na tranzitnomaerodromu o djetetu Êe se voditiista briga kao i na aerodromu po-laska, a posebno Êe se voditiraËuna o eventualnim jeziËkim

barijerama. Ukoliko se radi o nastavljanjuputovanja istim avionom, moæe se postiÊidogovor sa nadleænim organima da dijete uavionu saËeka produæetak leta. U mjestimagdje je takav postupak nemoguÊ, u pratnjipersera dijete se sa ostalim putnicima upu-Êuje u tranzitnu salu i perser Êe u tom slu-Ëaju regulisati sve potrebne formalnosti.

Kada nepraÊeno dijete ima rezervaciju koddrugog prevoznika, potrebno ga je ispratitido sluæbenika tog prevoznika, koji preuzi-maju brigu o djetetu, uz pismenu potvrdu oprihvatu djeteta. U momentu prihvata djetetaod strane drugog prevoznika, sva putnadokumenta moraju ponovo biti kontrolisana.

BRIGA O DJETETU NA AERODROMU OPREDJELJENJA

The following lines are de-voted to parents, those of youwho already are parents orsoon to become, and are re-lated to the travelling of theyoungest ones.

GRUPNI PREVOZ DJECE

Ovakav prevoz obuhvata orga-nizovanu grupu kada brojdjece prelazi 10. U sluËajevi-ma grupnog prevoza izdaju sepojedinaËne karte, kako za

pratioce, tako i za svako dijete u grupi.Pratioci djece ne mogu biti lica mlaa od 16godina. Ukoliko organizovana grupa djecenema dovoljan broj pratilaca, kabinsko oso-blje se mora uveÊati. Grupni prevoz djecemoæe se obaviti samo u toku dana, nikakotokom veËernjeg leta.

Kada se vrπi grupni prevoz sa redovnimputnicima, djeca imaju prednost prilikomukrcavanja i iskrcavanja.

PREVOZ TRUDNICA

BuduÊe majke mogu normalnoputovati avionima bez rizika pozdravlje, pod uslovom da trud-noÊa nije starija od 20 sedmica.Trudnicama sa viπe od 20

sedmica trudnoÊe dopuπta se putovanje uzljekarsko uvjerenje, koje moæe biti izdatonajviπe 7 dana prije zapoËinjanja puta i kojemora potvrivati da se poroaj ne oËekuje uroku od 4 sedmice od poËetka putovanja ida ne postoje zdravstvene smetnje za puto-vanje. Ovo uvjerenje ostaje u sluæbi koja vrπirezervacije.

Prevoz avionom se ne preporuËuje:1.ako je trudnoÊa starija od 32 nedjelje i

sedam dana nakon poroaja2.bebama u prvih deset dana nakon ro-

enja.

When making reser-vation, you will have a possibility to fulfillyour right to discounts that our companygrants to the youngest passengers. When yourealize the right to these discounts, the ticketwill include the following marks:

- discount for accompanied babies - INF- discount for the second accompanied

baby - INS

- discount for accompanied children -CHD

- discounts for unaccompanied childrenyounger than 12 - UM.

The allowed discounts depend on the timewhen the journey began. If a child begins aseveral day journey on eg. 15 December, andhe will be 12 on 16 December, a ticket ac-cording to the child tariff will be issued tohim notwithstanding the fact that he will beusing the return ticket when 13 years of age.

UNACCOMPANIED MINORS (UM)

Montenegro Airlines shall al-so accept to transport un-accompanied children (tick-et designation UM) aged 5to 12, upon request of their

parents or guardians. For children under theage of 5 the company shall provide escort - anemployee of Montenegro Airlines. If thenumber of unaccompanied children is morethan 10, then the number of flight attendantshas to be increased for that flight (the so

mpanied child to the person waiting forhim, having previously checked the identityof the person from the Statement foundwith the child (let us remind ourselves ofthe beginning of the journey) along with awritten consent. In the event that nobody iswaiting for the child, we shall try to contactby telephone the person whose contact de-tails are found in the Statement. In case it isabsolutely impossible to establish any kindof contact with that person, parents orguardians who gave the child for trans-portation shall be contacted, for further in-structions regarding who the child shouldbe handed to or for arranging the return ofthe child.

GROUP TRANSPORT OF CHILDREN

This kind of transport implies anorganized group when the num-ber of children is over 10. In casesof group transport individual tick-ets are issued, both for accompa-

nying persons and for each child in thegroup. Persons accompanying children can-not be younger than 16. If an organizedgroup of children does not have a sufficientnumber of accompanying persons, thenumber of cabin crew must be increased.Children can be transported in a group onlyduring the day, and on no account duringnight flights.

When group transportation is done alongwith regular passengers, the children shallhave precedence for boarding and disem-barkation.

TRANSPORT OF PREGNANT WOMEN

Mothers-to-be can travel byplane normally withoutrunning any risk for theirhealth, provided the preg-nant woman is not past

her 20th week of pregnancy. Pregnantwomen past their 20th week of pregnancyare allowed to travel provided they have amedical certificate issued at most 7 days be-fore beginning of the journey and whichmust certify that childbirth is not expectedwithin 4 weeks from the beginning of jour-ney and that there are not medical problemsfor traveling. This certificate shall be kept inthe reservation service.

Travel by plane is not recommended:1. if pregnancy is past 32nd week and sev-

en days after delivery2. to babies in the first ten days after birth.

WITH A BABY ON THE PLANE

Here is something for mothers offuture Montenegro Airlinespassengers. If now your familyhas one more member, andyou wish to travel with the new

born child, we recommend a handful ofpractical pieces of advice and additionalservices that will make your baby’s flighteven more comfortable.

Parents with babies always receive specialattention when boarding the plane and dis-embarking from it. They are secured specialseats on the plane. Flight attendants are alsoalways nearby and always ready to cater foryour needs. If there is a free seat on theplane, do not worry, your baby will proba-bly be the one to obtain a real big seat.

And something more. You know well thatat landing increased pressure in the ears maybe a nuisance. Though he/she cannot tellyou the baby will be bothered by this. If youare a nursing mother, try to breastfeed your

An unaccompanied child shall carry ar-ound the neck a plastic bag with the mark“UM”, and parents or guardians shall pro-vide all the necessary documents needed forthe trip (ticket, the Statement, passport andcertificate on vaccination if it’s an interna-tional travel).

TAKING CARE OF THE CHILD

From the moment of check in andpassing through the passport andcustoms control up to the mo-ment of boarding the plane, Mon-tenegro Airlines officials shall take

care of the child, in order to ensure as rela-xed and comfortable travel as possible.When a child travels alone, escort to the pl-ane shall be provided for him. When heenters the plane, the Purser (chief of cabincrew) shall take care of him, along with awritten acceptance of the child. An unac-companied child shall be placed into thefront part of the plane on a seat in the firstrow of economy class, next to the aisle andin no way next to the window, except incases when a number of unaccompaniedchildren are on board, in which case theyare seated together in the first row of econ-omy class.

TAKING CARE OF A CHILD ON A TRANSIT AIRPORT

During stay at a transit airport,the child shall be taken care ofin the same way as at the de-parture airport, and possiblelanguage barriers shall in par-

ticular be dealt with. If the child continuesthe journey on the same plane, an agree-ment may be made with the authorities forthe child to wait on the plane for continua-tion of the flight. In places where such aprocedure is not possible, the child escortedby the Purser shall be directed with the oth-er passengers to the transit lounge and inthis case the Purser shall deal with all the

child at take-off and landing. Breastfeedingfrequently helps in this situation.

TRAVELING WITH TWO BABIES

If an adult passenger desires to travelwith two babies, an accompanyingperson for the second baby has to besecured.On reservation, it is obligato-ry to state that you will be traveling

with two babies, for there is a possibilitythat the baby will be accompanied by aflight attendant. If the need for flight atten-dant as the accompanying person of the sec-ond baby has not been reported in advance,you may experience the inconvenience ofyour baby not being admitted on the plane.The tariff for the second baby is charged asfor a child, while the passenger designationhas to be INS - discount for the second ac-companied baby. Leave the rest to ourflight attendants and enjoy your flight.

That is why, due to enor-mous interest of Montenegrin diaspora, Montenegro Airlines has increased the numberof flights to Zurich. Namely, Montenegro Airlines operates direct flight Podgorica -Zurich - Podgorica five times a week, on all days except on Tuesdays and Thursdays.The flight from Tivat is operated three times a week, on Wednesdays, Fridays andSundays.

To remind you, let us state apart from these new routes, Montenegro Airlines fliestwo times a day on the route Belgrade - Zurich - Belgrade, and from Nis twice a week,on Fridays and Sundays, througout the year.

Aeroflot Don and Montenegro Airlineshave signed a Protocol on Cooperation re-garding export of know-how service, whichis the most appreciated and the most prof-itable service in the world and a significantproject for Montenegro Airlines. The compa-nies providing know-how have extensiveknowledge, experience and credibility in theactivity they are engaged in, which is whypartners address them for this kind of serv-ice.

Aeroflot-Don is the daughter of Aeroflot, aworld renowned company. The Russian air-line decided to consult the expert staff ofMontenegro Airlines prior to entering intocommercial contracts regarding the pur-chase of Fokker 100 aircraft.

The reason for this is that, as it is well-known, Montenegro Airlines stands as theleader in South East Europe for this type ofplanes. The idea of Russian representativesis to make commercial agreements withMontenegro Airlines for using the know-how service after obtaining the commercialfleet. This would mean that the experts ofMontenegro Airlines would train staff of theRussian airline i.e. organize specialist train-ing of engineers, airplane mechanics andflight staff - pilots and flight attendants.

This is the third in a series of arrange-ments of this type that Montenegro Airlineshas concluded recently. As it has alreadybeen presented in public, in the previous pe-riod the same arrangement was made at theterritory of Libya, while at the moment theaircraft, the crews and technical staff havebeen given on lease to the Albanian compa-ny Albatross Airways for a period of threeyears. This proves that we have becomerenowned exporters of know-how at themarkets in the region.

Montenegro Airlines brings French tourists

27th June, Paris. The promotion of Montenegrin tourist offer, organ-ized by Montenegro Airlines, was held in the Embassy of Serbia andMontenegro. The working title of the project is “MONTENEGRO 2006”.

Serbia and Montenegro Ambassador to France Mr. Predrag Simicopened the meeting. After the introductory word, Mr. Dejan Bojanic,Commercial Department Deputy Manager, introduced the guestswith the work of the company “Montenegro Airlines” and its furtherdevelopment plans for the French market.

Apart from Montenegro Airlines representatives, the meeting wasattended by forty tour-operators and tourist agencies from Francewho expressed great interest in our tourist offer. There were alsorepresentatives of 15 hotels from Montenegro. The bond of the proj-ect is Montenegro Airlines, who is willing to assist the growingtourist demand from the French region and use its planes to transportguests to Montenegro.

The development trend, of this already promising route, will contin-ue in future, as Montenegro Airlines has already started transportingthe first French tourists in the allotment (the allotment of the planeseats by French tour operators) in this season.

At the meeting, the concrete agreements were made withrenowned tour-operators: Jet Tours, Nouvelle Frontier and Pr-oduntour. The other participants of the meeting will together outlinetheir commercial agreements in the following period. Therefore, theaim was to timely direct French and Montenegrin partners, which willenable, besides better hotel capacity occupation, the increase of thenumber of rotations of Montenegro Airlines planes at this destination,from currently two rotations in the season, to three flights a week.

a u organizaciji Montenegro Airlinesa. Radni naziv projekta je ”MONTENEGRO 2006”.Skup je otvorio ambasador SCG u Francuskoj, g. Predrag SimiÊ. Nakon njega, goste

je sa radom Montenegro Airlinesa i daljim razvojnim planovima za træiπte Francuskeupoznao zamjenik komercijalnog direktora Dejan BojaniÊ.

Pored predstavnika Montenegro Airlinesa, skupu je prisustvovalo Ëetrdeset fran-cuskih tour-operatora i turistiËkih agencija, koji su pokazali naglaπeno interesovanje zanaπu tursitiËku ponudu. Prisutni su bili i predstavnici petnaest hotelskih preduzeÊaCrne Gore. Spona projekta je Montenegro Airlines, koji je spreman da izae u susretrastuÊoj turstiËkoj traænji sa podruËja francuske i svojim avionima preveze goste doCrne Gore.

Ovo Êe biti trend razvoja ove perspektivne avio-linije, jer je Montenegro Airlines ovesezone veÊ poËeo prevoziti prve francuske turiste u alotmanskom zakupu (zakup sje-diπta u avionu od strane francuskih tour-operatora).

Tokom odræavanja skupa postignuti su konkretni dogovori sa renomiranim tour-opera-torima: Jet Tours, Nouvelle Frontire i Produntour. Ostali uËesnici skupa Êe u narednomperiodu uobliËiti svoje komercijalne ugovore. Dakle, cilj je bio da se partneri izFrancuske i Crne Gore pravovremeno upute jedni na druge, πto Êe omoguÊiti, poredbolje popunjenosti hotelskih kapaciteta, poveÊanje broja rotacija Montenegro Airlinesaviona na ovoj destinaciji, sa trenutne dvije rotacije u sezoni, na tri leta nedjeljno.

HIT Maestral has been carryingpassengers between Podgoricaand Bari as of October last year.Within the same arrangement, di-rect flights Podgorica - Naples -Podgorica are offered as well. This season the route to Paris was introduced considerably ear-lier than in the previous years so that Montenegro will be connect-ed with France without interruptions throughout the year.

RASPJEVANI »ARTER MONTENEGRO AIRLINESA Talentovani mladiÊi grupe ”Noname” svojim πarmom, nepo-srednoπÊu i profesionalnoπÊuosvojili su sve sa kojima su doπliu kontakt tokom πest dana ton-

skih proba, konferencija za novinare, gosto-vanja na raznim evropskim televizijskimstanicama, æurkama i druæenjima sa kolega-ma iz drugih zemalja. Kamere i blicevi sije-vali su sa svih strana, a svaki njihov nastuppraÊen je ovacijama. Ovi mladi momci, nasamom poËetku muziËke karijere, uspjeli suuz pomoÊ odliËno usklaenog tima da se nanajbolji naËin predstave na festivalu koji su udirektnom prenosu gledali milioni gledalacaπirom svijeta. Pohvale za najaktivniji navi-jaËki tim na Eurosongu dobili su ljudi iz Mi-nistarstva za turizam i TuristiËke organizacijeCrne Gore. Naravno, kao i uvijek, njihov bo-ravak u Kijevu bio je i radne prirode, tako daje ministar za turizam CG Predrag NeneziÊu predivnom prostoru ”Arene” odræao odli-Ëno posjeÊenu turistiËku prezentaciju CrneGore.

StatistiËki podaci kaæu da je Ukrajina neza-visna dræava, Ëlan Ujedinjenih nacija i SavjetaEvrope, a broji viπe od 52 000 000 ljudi.Zauzima povrπinu od 603 700 kvadratnihkilometara. Njen glavni grad Kijev smjeπtenje na rijeci Dnjepar - jednoj od najvaænijihnavigacionih arterija u Evropi. Legenda onastanku Kijeva govori da je dobio ime poKiju, jednom od braÊe koji su zajedno sa ses-trom doplovili Dnjeprom negdje sa sjeverazemlje i osnovali grad. Pretpostavlja se da suto bili Vikinzi, koji su ova podruËja koristilikao trgovaËku rutu prema juænim toplimmorima radi trgovine sa starim semitskimnarodima, pa nije ni Ëudo da je prvi ruski carbio πvedski viking.

Tokom Drugog sv-jetskog rata Kijev je dijelom razoren, a pono-vo je obnovljen izmeu 1944. i 1952. godine.Ukrajinsku prijestonicu karakteriπu πirokeulice, veliki trgovi i mnoπtvo zelenih oaza.Jedna od najveÊih zelenih povrπina Kijeva,pored botaniËke baπte koja se nalazi usamom centru grada, jeste Marinski park, ukojem je nezaobilazna destinacija Marinskidvor.

Kijev svaki dan primi veliki broj posjetilacakoji su radoznali da vide prelijepe graevine,zgradu opere, pozoriπta, nacionalnog muze-ja, kinoteke, univerziteta. To arhitektonskobogatstvo na najbolji naËin predstavlja duguistoriju i tradiciju Ukrajine, koja datira joπ iz11. vijeka. ProlazeÊi ulicama Kijeva, imateutisak da prolazite kroz razliËite istorijske pe-riode. Na tren ste u Kijevu iz doba vladavine

nekadaπnje carske Rusije, a onda se naeteu dobu komunizma. Centralni Trg nezavis-nosti proπle godine bio je mjesto na kojemsu Ukrajinci podigli ‘’narandæastu revoluciju’’i izborili se za svoja prava, a predsjednikJuπËenko, uz pjevaËicu Ruslanu, jedna je odnajpopularnijih liËnosti u ovoj zemlji.

Moj boravak u Kijevu obiljeæili su: hladovi-na ogromnih procvjetalih kestena duæ svihglavnih avenija, (cvijet kestena je simbol gra-da), muzej Bulgakova, kijevska Sveta Sofija,zasljepljujuÊe zlatne kupole crkava i kon-stantna upala miπiÊa u æelji da obiem πtoviπe i da grad doæivim na najbolji naËin. Ima istarijih, i veÊih, i bogatijih gradova, aliKijev je ipak jedinstven.

of rehearsals, press conferences, guest pe-rformances at various European TV stations,parties and gatherings with colleagues fromother countries. Cameras and flashes wereblazing from all sides, and every perform-ance of theirs was followed by ovations.These young boys, at the beginning of theirmusic career, managed, with the assistanceof an excellently coordinated team, to pres-ent themselves in the best possible mannerat the festival watched in a live broadcast bymillions of viewers all over the world. Peo-ple from the Ministry of Tourism and the To-urist Organization of Montenegro were alsopraised for the most attractive support teamat Eurosong. Naturally, as always, their stayin Kiev also had a nature of work, so the Mi-nister of Tourism of Montenegro PredragNenezic, in the magnificent surrounding of

“Arena” had a well attended presentation ofMontenegro.

And what kind of country is Ukraine? Forthe beginning, it is a huge country. To bemore precise, it is the second biggest coun-try in Europe after Russia. The topographyof Ukraine consists almost entirely of ste-ppes partly covered by forests. Known atone time as the “breadbasket of USSR”, foralmost half a century it was covered byfields of wheat. In the old times, Kiev usedto be the political, economic and spiritualcentre of the Kiev Russia.

Statistical data say that Ukraine is an inde-pendent state, a member of the UnitedNations and the Council of Europe, with apopulation of over 52 million people. The Ce-ntral Square of Independence was the placeat which last year the Ukrainians started the“orange revolution” and fought for theirrights, and President Juschenko, along withthe singer Ruslana, is one of the most popu-lar personalities in this country.

Ja dugujem Novom.

Smatrate da slici ne treba tumaË i in-terpretacija sa strane?

Slike nisu razumne, nisu nauka. Umjetnostje antiintelektualna, ona je spontana. Umje-tnost se ne razumije, ona se osjeÊa. Slika je na-jsubjektivniji doæivljaj. Kako onda donijetisud o neËemu πto je subjektivno?

Kako doæivljavate savremenu umjet-nost?

Stara umjetnost joπ nije prevaziena.Umjetnost Amerike i Evrope danas je u mu-zejima. Moderan roman viπe liËi na novi-narstvo nego na knjiæevnost. Novi komadi sublijedi u odnosu na stare. Ranije je kultura bi-la elitna, a danas je masovna. Svima je dostup-na, ali je zato povrπna. Umjetnost je danas ap-atiËna.

Moderna umjetnost u odnosu na staru jekao mlijeko u prahu u odnosu na pomuzenood krave. Ja sam moderni umjetnik, bez obzi-ra na to koliko sam u nekim stvarima konzerv-ativan.

Ipak, danas ima velikog slikarstva. Ima ga iu Crnoj Gori. Divim se vjeπtini MacanoviÊa,njegovom renesansnom svjetlu. OdliËni sumladi crnogorski slikari. Izdvojio bih Oda-loviÊa i Dragaπa. Divim se svakom slikaru kojimoæe ono πto ja ne mogu.

Poslije nekih izloæbi jednostavno pometuinstalacije i odnesu na smetliπte. Prava umjet-nost je trajna. Ne moæeπ potroπiti sliku koja jedobra. PosjeÊivao sam Luvr dva mjeseca.Najprije sam sve prepjeπaËio, ali sam malusliku Van Ajka "Kancelar" gledao bezbroj pu-ta. Slika mi se svaki put sve viπe sviala.

KlasiËna muzika se najteæe svidi na prvosluπanje. Tek kasnije je osvajaπ. Laka muzikaoduπevi na prvo sluπanje, ali poslije je nemoæeπ Ëuti.

Zuko Dæumhur je govorio da moraπ desetdana Êutati da bi priËao jedan sat.

Ako si sliku radio pola sata, ne moæeπ je gle-

dati dva sata. Naprotiv, treba da radiπ desetsati da bi je gledao deset minuta. Slika zraËienergijom koju unesemo u nju. Ljepota jepozitivna. Kao lijep dan.

©ta mislite o hiperprodukciji u umjet-nosti?

Svako moæe napisati pjesmu ili naslikati sliku,ali je pitanje da li je zbog toga pjesnik ili slikar.

Kolik je udio tehnike u odnosu na tale-nat?

Koji je Vaπ najveÊi uspjeh?Moja izloæba na Venecijanskom bijenalu

1996. bojkotovana je i prije nego πto sam stigaotamo, ne iz politiËkih razloga, veÊ zbog interesaodreenih lobija. Ja sam uvijek bio disident uslikarstvu. Uvijek sam guslao svoju priËu.

I baπ tada sam dobio preko 2000 Ëestitakaiz cijelog svijeta. Tamo sam i pozvan da gos-tujem na univerzitetu u Njujorku kodËuvenog Roberta Bojersa.

Vi ste umjetniËka familija. GospoaNada je vajarka, a vaπ sin je pijanista.

Da, Tomo je nedavno imao dva koncertana Menhetnu. Proπle godine je nastupao naDubrovaËkim ljetnjim igrama. Tomo je praviCrnogorac, nauËio je da svira da ne bi radio.Iz istog razloga i ja sam slikar.

Crnogorci su najinteligentniji narod. Znaπpo Ëemu to znam. Ne vole da rade.

Ja se na neki naËin πvercujem kroz æivot.Isto kao onaj koji svira harmoniku u dokolici,a neko mu plaÊa za to. Zabavljam se, pa usputod toga æivim. Takvo je slikarstvo. NeshvaÊam muËenje u stvaralaËkom radu.

»ak i u Svetom Pismu stoji da je Bogkaznio ljude da moraju da rade. Ako sihriπÊanin, smatraπ da je rad kazna, a ne privi-legija. (Smijeh.) Crnogorci se toliko muËe idovijaju da ne bi radili. Moæda bi im bilolakπe da se late posla i malo oznoje.

Nisam religiozan, opsujem Boga najmanjepet puta dnevno. Ali Ëim opsujeπ Boga,samim tim ga i priznajeπ. I to je neka vrsta re-ligioznosti.

Psujem Boga da me ne bi sluËajno poslao uraj. Poπto sam ja poπten Ëovjek, a pomalo iskroman, to bi mi se lako moglo desiti. To bime straπno pogodilo, najviπe zbog toga πto ta-mo ne bih naπao svoje druπtvo. Ne shvatamraj kao godiπnji odmor, πetnju parkom i izo-bilje voÊa. VeÊ me hvata jeza i od same tepomisli. Vjerovatno ne bih mogao ni karte daigram u raju, ni vino da pijem. Moæda je tamojedino πah dozvoljen. A ja ne umijem da

Nedavo ste izlagali u Moskvi, u galeriji"Zurabija Ceretelija". Ruske novine sudosta pisale o Vama. Jeste li sabraliutiske?

Moj utisak o Moskvi formiran je za Ëetiridana. Rusiju sam zamiπljao kroz razne predra-sude. Niπta od debelih æena koje voze trak-tore. Nigdje nisam vidio toliko vitkih i zgod-nih dama. OËekivao sam da me susretne ruskapatetika, ali Rusi su vrlo uzdræani, otmeno uz-dræani. To mi se straπno dopalo.

Nada: Ostalo je to od stare ruske aris-tokratije. Neoprostivo je da æena dopusti go-dinama da je svladaju.

Vojo: Bili smo u hotelu Rusija, koji je naj-veÊi u svijetu. Iz njega vidite i Kremlj i crkvuVasilija Blaæenoga. Tu se vidi istorija Rusije. UNjujorku istoriju kompenzuje visina.

U Moskvi sam shvatio da Rusi nemajuproblema sa prostorom. Rusi nemaju razlogada budu agresivni, jer joπ nisu savladali ni svojprostor.

Vi ste promociju svojih slika prepustiligaleristi. To je uobiËajeno u svijetu, alineobiËno za nas. Kolika je uloga galeristeu æivotu slikara?

Æivjeli smo u dræavi koja je bila mama pa-tria. Navikli smo bili da sve traæimo od dræave.Nekolicina poe kod Blaæa JovanoviÊa i kaæe"nemam atelje". I tako prebacimo problem naBlaæa. Nije se lako preπaltovati na drugi sis-

sam uz crteæe sabrao i svoje misli.

O ljepoti

Lijepa iluzija je ispred ruæne istine.

O promjenama

ProËitao sam da je neko rekao da se

"samo idioti ne mijenjaju". Ja sam je-

dan od tih idiota. Ne vjerujem u mije-

njanje ljudi i ne vjerujem u ljude koji

se mijenjaju. »ovjek se samo usavrπa-

va i postaje bolji ili gori, ali uvijek on.

Koliko je umjetnik obavezan nadruπtveni angaæman?

Umjetnik je utoliko bolji za dræavu ukolikoje bolji umjetnik. To je njegov jedini dopri-nos. Svaki drugi naËin je pogreπan, ako zavisiod bilo kakve milosti.

Vjerujete u dominaciju uroenih stvarii unekoliko ste poklonik teorije da seËovjekova duhovna supstanca bitno nemijenja u toku æivota. Prezirete pri-preme i skice: koliko se dajete slici?

Slikam svakog dana i slikam πto bilo. Uvijeksam uporan da dovrπim sliku. Nikad se nisamodrekao nijedne slike. Joπ nisam nauËio daslikam, pa ako mi neπto uspije, to je samo mo-jom greπkom. Nikad ne znaπ πta Êe se dogodi-ti kad staviπ boju. To se nikako ne da naslutiti.I to te zapravo i vuËe. Kad bi sve bilo jasno,bilo bi dosadno. Uvijek imaπ osjeÊaπ da Êeπnapraviti onu "sliku".

Kad radim jednu sliku, vazda sam u njoj.Ne poËinjem drugu dok ne dovrπim onu kojuradim. »ak i dok sjedim u kafani, ja slikam tusliku. Potpuno sam zaokupljen njom. Bezobzira na to koliko ona bila blesava. Ja samËovjek od jedne slike i jedne æene.

Takav sam ja tip. Imam jednu jedrilicu kojaje ovdje meu manjima. Prijatelj me pita kadÊu kupiti veÊu. Ako budem kupovao drugu,kupiÊu joπ manju. Ja ako i ne volim nekustvar, kad je veÊ imam, onda je vremenom za-volim. »ak i Êikaru, pepeljaru. Tako i mojugospou. Sad je volim joπ viπe nego prije.(Vragolast pogled na Nadu. Ispunjavaju li Vas viπe male ili velikestvari?

Ne znam πta su velike stvari. Velike stvari suu stvari puno malih stvari.

Sanjate li? Kad mi je dosadno, poËnem da snivam.

Imam neku barku koja je nestabilna i kojumoram da balansiram svojom teæinom da sene prevrne.

Poπto uæivam da jedrim, kad legnem, dabih zaspao, poËnem da zamiπljam da jedrim.Tako se uspavam. Toliko se uæivim u to, dapoËnem da balansiram u krevetu. Lakπe jejedriti nego pjeπaËiti πumom. Ja sam ipakCrnogorac, ne volim da se muËim.

Imate odliËan pogled kroz ova dvaprozora. Dvije razliËite slike. PuËina ikroπnja na dva metra rastojanja.

Da, odavde vidiπ nebo i more. Nekad sati-ma gledam. To je fantastiËan prizor za fo-tografa. Nikada se nije ponovio nijedan oblak.Joπ je Leonardo primijetio da je nemoguÊenaÊi dva ista lista lipe. Isto je sa otiscima prsti-ju. Bog je uradio i poneπto dobro, koliko godda je zeznuo stvari.

O problemima

Problem je sve ono πto æeliπ da

imaπ, jer ga moraπ ostvariti. Æivot bi

bio dosadan bez problema. Kad ne bi

bilo nikakvog problema, onda bi to

bio problem.

O dræavi

Ako dræava ne valja, sjetimo se da

smo i mi krivi za to. Vlast uvijek liËi

na ljude koji je biraju. Ona je naπ

proizvod.

O prevari

Kad sam se oæenio, varao sam sve

druge æene na svijetu sa mojom

gospoom. Prevara je u maπti. Ako je

nismo ostvarili, onda nismo realizo-

vali naπu pokvarenost. Onda izgleda

kao da smo poπteni, a nismo.

have not yet conquered their own space.

You have left the promotion of yourpaintings to a gallery owner. This iscustomary in the world, but unusual forus. What is the role of a gallery owner inthe life of a painter?

We used to live in a state which was mama

patria. We were accustomed to asking for eve-

rything from the state. Several people would

go to Blazo Jovanovic and say “I do not have

a studio”. And thus we would pass the prob-

lem over to him. It is not easy to switch to an-

other system. This is where the gallery owners

bring salvation. In the West, painters depend

on the gallery owner, who makes the contacts.

The Government cannot solve the problem of

painters. You must be a good painter, so that

somebody will have material interest in sup-

porting you.

The gallery owner Gajo Vojvodic is my Fore-

ign Affairs Minister. I do nothing without him.

Do you think that you have made He-rceg Novi your debtor by your paintingsor has it made you its debtor by the in-spiration its represents?

I owe it to Herceg Novi.

Do you think that a painting does notneed an interpreter and explication fromaside?

Paintings are not rational, they are not sci-

ence. Art is anti-intellectual, it is spontaneous.

Art is not to be understood, it is to be felt. A

Recently, you have exhibited your wo-rks in Moscow, in the gallery “ZurabijaCeretelija”. Russian newspapers wroteabout you. Have you assembled your im-pressions?

My impression on Moscow was formed dur-

ing four days. I imagined Russia through vari-

ous prejudices. None of the fat women driving

tractors. Nowhere have I seen so many slim

and beautiful women. I expected to be met by

Russian pathetic, but the Russians are very re-

served, reserved in a noble way. I liked this

tremendously.

Nada: This was left by the old Russian aris-

tocracy. It is unforgivable when a woman lets

the years defeat her.

Vojo: We stayed at the Hotel Russia, which

is the biggest one in the world. From it you can

see the Kremlin and the church of Vasil the

Blessed. One can see the history of Russia here.

In New York, history is compensated by height.

In Moscow I realized that the Russians do

not have any problems with space. The Ru-

painting is the most subjective experience.

How then can one make a judgment on some-

thing that is subjective?

How do you see modern art?Old art has not been overcome yet. The art

of America and Europe is in museums today.

Modern novel resembles journalism more

than it resembles literature. New pieces are

pale in relation to the old ones. Before culture

was elitist, and today it is mass one. It is avail-

able to everyone, but it is therefore superficial.

Art is apathetic today. Modern art in relation

to the old one is like milk made of powder in

relation to the milk the cow gives. I am a

modern artist, no matter how conservative I

am in certain things.

Still, today there is great painting. There is

such painting in Montenegro. I admire the

skill of Macanovic, his renaissance light. Yo-

ung Montenegrin painters are excellent. I wo-

uld single out Odalovic and Dragas. I admire

every painter who can do what I cannot do.

After certain exhibitions they simply sweep

away the installations and take them to a rub-

bish heap. You cannot consume a painting

that is good. I visited the Louvre during two

months. At first I walked around the museum,

but I watched the small Van Ajk’s painting

“The Chancellor” a myriad times. Every time

I liked the painting more and more.

One can hardly take a liking of the classical

music at first listening. It is only later that one

starts to conquer it. Popular music delights

one at first listening, but afterwards you can-

not listen to it…

Zuko Dzumhur used to say that you must

be silent for ten days in order to speak for one

hour. If you worked on a painting for half an

hour you cannot watch it for two hours. On

the contrary, you should work for 10 hours on

it in order to watch it for ten minutes. The pa-

inting radiates energy that we put into it. Bea-

uty is positive. Like a beautiful day.

What is your opinion of hyper produc-tion in art?

Everyone can write a poem or paint a pictu-

re, but the question is whether you can call

the person a painter or a poet because of that.

What is the share of technique in rela-tion to talent?

A man cannot excel oneself. Spontaneity is

the biggest force of a painting.

What is your biggest success?My exhibition at the Venice Biennial in 1996

was boycotted before I arrived there, not for po-

litical reasons, but for interests of particular lob-

bies. I have always been a dissident in painting. I

have always recounted my own story.

It was precisely then that I received over

2000 greetings from all around the world.

There I was invited to be a guest of the fa-

mous Robert Boyers in New York.

You are a family of artists. Mrs. NadaStanic is a sculptor and your son is a pi-anist.

Yes, Tomo has recently had two concerts at

Manhattan. Last year he performed at Dubro-

vnik Summer Festival. Tomo is a real Monte-

negrin; he has learned to play in order not to

work. I am a painter for the same reason.

Montenegrins are the most intelligent peo-

ple. You know how I know? They do not like

to work. In a way I steal through life. In the

same manner as that character that plays the

accordion at leisure, and someone pays him

for that. I amuse myself, and make a living of

it along the way. This is what paining is like. I

do not understand torture in creative work.

Even the Holy Writ says that God punished

people by making them work. If you are a

Christian you consider work as a punishment,

not a privilege. (Laughter). Montenegrins go

to so much pain in order not to work. It

might be easier for them to tackle some work

and sweat a little.

You frequently mention God and referto the Bible. Does this mean that you arereligious?

I am not religious, I swear God at least five

times a day. But the moment you swear God,

you recognize Him. This also constitutes

some kind of religiosity.

I swear God so that He does not happen to

send me to Paradise. Since I am an honest

man, and also a little modest, this might easily

happen to me. This would upset me terribly,

mostly because I would not find company for

myself there. I do not consider Paradise a

place of holiday, a walk through a park or an

abundance of fruit. The very thought gives me

the creeps. In Paradise, I probably could not

even play cards nor drink wine. Maybe only

playing chess is allowed there. And I cannot

play chess. Then I prefer to go to hell, for I

am sure I would find company there. I hope

there are no prospects for heaven.

AN AFTERNOON WITH

VOJO STANIC

In a stone house at the beginning of the waterfront in Herceg Novi lives thepainter Vojo Stanic. A lemon tree rises over the staircase that leads from thegarden into the house. Its strong scent fills the space. The scent is fresh andpersistent; it awakens and inebriates, provokes and reminds of things. Itlingers in memory and leads into a new dimension. Actually, it sends the sig-

nal that two souls smelling of lemon freshness live in the house. Vojo Stanic, the icon ofMontenegrin culture and his wife Nada, a charming lady with a spirit of a girl.

On his canvasses, Vojo gave a witty representation of a seaside town physiognomyin an interesting and quite private geometry. In an unusual painting experiment,he mixed modern Mediterranean topics and traditional Montenegrin symbols, heconfronted the archaic and the modern. The result of this is a precisely perceived sit-uation, a painting that conquers you at first sight, while the love remains for life.A fine dose of mild waspishness, for Vojo is too intelligent not to be a little ironicalas well, but he is too noble to be cynical. In his aesthetic categories, beauty equalsgoodness. He does not court neither God nor men. He drinks red wine with delightno matter what the reason for it, the time of the day or of the year is. The same istrue about this interview.

On genius

What seems easy frequently is the

most difficult. The most difficult thing

is to be a genius, but it is easy for him.

On what we say

Sometimes what we say seems exposed and banal when it is written down.

While we speak, we wave our hands and thus contribute to making what we

pronounce more convincing. Since frequently I gave interviews in haste and

said what I did not mean, I wrote “At leisure”, where along with my drawings I

collected my thoughts too.

To what extent is an artist obliged tosocial engagement?

The better an artist is the better he is for the

state. That is his/her only contribution. Every

other way is wrong, if it depends on any kind

of mercy.

You believe in domination of innatethings and you are to some extent an ad-vocate of the theory that a man’s spiritu-al substance significantly changes duringlife. You despise preparations and ske-tches: how much of yourself do you giveto a painting?

I paint every day and I paint no matter

what. I always persist in finishing a painting.

Never have I renounced a single painting. I

have not yet learned how to paint, so if I suc-

ceed in doing something, this was entirely my

mistake. You never know what will happen

when you put paint on canvass. One cannot

even anticipate it. And this is precisely what

drives you ahead. If everything were clear it

would be boring. You always have the feeling

that you are going to make “the painting”.

When I work on a painting, I am permane-

ntly in it. I do not start another painting until

I have finished the one I am working on. Even

while I am sitting in a café I am painting the

picture. I am completely absorbed in it. No

matter how silly it is. I am a man of one paint-

ing and of one woman. This is the kind of man I am. I have a sail-

ing-boat which is among smaller here. A fri-

end asks me when I am going to buy a bigger

one. If I decide to buy another one I will buy

an even smaller one. Even if I do not like a

thing, when I already have it, I come to like it

with time. Even a cup, an ashtray. The same is

true for my wife. Now I love her even more

than before. (Mischievously glances at Nada.

She returns by an effective joke.)

What makes you happier, small or big

things?

I do not know what big things are. Big things

are actually a compilation of many small things.

Do you dream?

When I am bored I start to dream. I have a

small boat which is not stable and which I

der to fall asleep, I begin to think that I am

sailing. This is how I fall asleep. I enter into

the spirit of it so much that I begin to balance

in my bed. It is easier to sail than to walk a

wood. I am a Montenegrin after all; I do not

like to make great efforts.

Through these two windows, you havean excellent view of two different im-ages. The open sea and a top of a tree ata two meter distance.

You, from here you can see the sea and the

sky. Sometimes I just watch for hours. This is

a fantastic sight for a photographer. Not a sin-

gle cloud repeated itself ever. It was Leonardo

who noticed that it is not possible to find two

same leaves on a linden. The same is true of

fingerprints. God made some things well, no

matter how much He twisted other things.

On changes

I have read that someone once said that “only idiots do not change”. I am

one of those idiots. I do not believe in changing of people and I do not believe

in people who change. A man only perfects himself and becomes better or

worse, but remains himself.

On cheating

When I got married, I cheated on

all other women in the world with my

lady. Cheating is in the imagination.

If we have not realized it, we have not

realized our perversion. Then it seems

that we are honest, but we are not.

On problems

A problem is everything you wish to

have, for you have to realize it. Life

The interior of the Bay of Kotor is surrounded by highMontenegrin mountains which precipitate towards thewaters of the Adriatic, over which the mount Lovcen ris-es. The reminiscence of the Alpine lake the landscapeevokes is so strong that a passenger arriving from the hin-

terland into the Bay of Kotor cannot even assume that this is just anepisode of the Mediterranean Adriatic waters. The feeling of isola-tion and of being sheltered most probably was the reason why thefirst urban settlements were created precisely in this part of thebay where people were denied a view of the open sea, but wherethey were also hidden from the ambitions of numerous enemiescruising the Adriatic.

Numerous charming settlements that developed during cen-turies testify not only of the ages long harmony created betweenthe man and the nature, but also of the more intense civilizationand communication which modeled its diverse architectural formsof the private and public buildings in the Bay of Kotor upon thestyles of Gothic, Renaissance and baroque. This reduced and stylis-tically multilayered town planning charm is recognized even todaydespite the unstoppable and explosive urban development in re-cent decades. Churches, palaces, squares and the overall atmos-phere seem to revive the spirit of the time in which they were cre-ated.

Relying on the relevant music tradition of the Bay of Kotor,which maintained its continuity from the early Middle Ages and in-tensively fed on the Mediterranean music heritages, young and rec-

ognized pianist Ratimir Martinovic started in 2002 an initiativenamed KotorArt, which was supposed to give the ambiance a mu-sic significance in the form of a festival-pedagogic engagement.Searching in the region and wider for artists interested in participat-ing at it, KotorArt has attracted a whole range of eminent artistsamong which we single out artists such as Aleksandar Serdar,Dejan Sinadinovic, Konstantin Bogino, Kemal Gekic, Lovro Po-gorelic, Bozo Paradzik, Ksenija Jankovic, Roman Simovic, SretenKrstic, Ksenija Akeynikova, Egon Mihajlovic, Ljubisa Jovanovic,Darinka Maric-Matovic, Alun Francis.

Ensambles such as the Zagreb Philharmonic, String orchestraof St. George, Ensamble “Lado”, opera ensemble from HannoverPolyhymnia, which performed for the first time an opera of aMontenegrin composer - “A Girl without Arms” by Tatjana Prelevic,had guest performances at KotorArt.

From the very beginning KotorArt promoted top level perform-ing and pedagogic art providing an opportunity to young music stu-dents from the wider region to acquire new knowledge and im-prove their artistic potential with renowned guests of the festival.The desire for Kotor to become a true place of creative encountersthrough this initiative is expressed in a special manner by gathering

of music youth coming from different European countries who byworking and being together during the festival practice a relevant allevening choir programme. This year it will be Stabat Mater ofPergolesi, which is to close the festival on 14 August.

KotorArt 2005 begins on the island of Our Lady of Rocks by ajoint performance of Dubrovnik Symphonic Orchestra, theVojvodina symphonicists and the Chamber Orchestra of KotorArt,who will perform Handle’s Water Music and Fireworks Music in theideal context of the petrified ship of Our Lady’s island. Among nu-merous distinguished guests we wish to point to the pianist MichailVoskresenski and Itamar Golan, the ensemble Di Villancico fromSweden, string quartet Tartini from Slovenia.

St. Triphun’s Cathedral, the Church of St. Spirit, the island of OurLady of Rocks, as well as numerous squares in Kotor, will again thissummer become the target of numerous admirers of music her-itage, and the best guarantee of a genuine experience are therenowned performers from the world who, year after year recog-nize Kotor more and more as the place of true cultural and artisticexperience.

Balkanske inspiracije Pabla Pikasa

Film Bitka na Neretvi vidjelo je oko sto

dvadeset miliona ljudi. Osvojio je Ëetrnaest

meunarodnih filmskih nagrada i

nominovan je za Oskara. Svojevrsno

priznanje dobio je i potpisom Pabla Pikasa

na plakatu.

Iza Pabla Pikasa (1881-1973) ostao je opus od oko 50 000radova. ”Genije XX vijeka” sa istom straπÊu i uspjehom st-varao je slike, skulpture, grafike, keramiku. Bio je pomaloanarhista, revolucionar, komunista. Uvijek angaæovani umjet-nik, govorio je: ”Umjetnik ne moæe biti samo posmatraË poli-

tike. Ne, slika ne postoji zbog dekorisanja stanova. Ona je ratni in-strument za napad i odbranu od neprijatelja”.

Slikom Gospoice iz Avinjona Pikaso je 1907. godine stvorio novipravac u umjetnosti-kubizam. Nakon nekoliko godina, kubistiËka sli-ka je doπla na granicu apstrakcije. Pikaso je smatrao da ”ne postojiapstraktna umjetnost poπto uvijek mora iz neËeg da se poËne”. Dabi zadræali vezu sa prirodom i slici dali oblik konkretne stvarnosti, Pi-kaso i Æoræ Brak 1912. godine upotrijebili su nova sredstva: ti-

pografiju i kolaæ (papier collé). Tako je nastao sintetiËki kubizam. I upravo tada, u prvom velikom ciklusu kolaæa nastalih tokom ok-

tobra-decembra 1912. godine, Pikasa inspiriπu zbivanja na Balkanu.Francuski listovi, poput Le Journal i Les Soirées de Paris, objavljujupriloge o Balkanskom ratu, posebno o Crnoj Gori. Meu brojniminostranim izvjeπtaËima sa ratiπta bilo je i Pikasovih prijatelja. ”KraljNikola je zapoËeo avanturu - kao da gledamo zanimljiv film”, pisaoje publicista Tudesk. Svakodnevno su se nizale vijesti o toj ”avan-turi”, o crnogorskim borbama za Skadar i diplomatskim igrama u ve-zi sa njim. Fragmente ovih storija sa naslovnih strana Pikaso je pre-nio na svoje kolaæe.

U poËetku evropske politiËke krize izazvane balkanskim ratovimafrancuska diplomatija je nastojala da saËuva status quo, da se ratizbjegne, odnosno da se πto prije okonËa. Kasnije, prihvatila je izv-jesna osvajanja od strane balkanskih saveznica kao svrπen Ëin.Francusko javno mnjenje nije bilo jedinstveno. Dio je podræavao bor-bu balkanskih naroda, a drugi dio, kome je pripadao i Pikaso, bio jeskloniji miroljubivoj politici. Rat je, za Pikasa, bio savrπeno sredstvoza jaËanje velikih sila na raËun stradanja malih naroda. UbacujuÊi usvoje kolaæe novinske isjeËke o aktuelnom ekonomskim stanjuFrancuske, Pikaso je ciniËno ukazivao i na finansijsku motivacijupolitike francuske vlade.

Kontakt sa filmom

Pikaso je u svom bogatom opusu uradio samo dva filmska plaka-ta. Jedan je nastao 1929. godine za film Andaluzijski pas, koji su ra-dili njegovi prijatelji Luis Bunjuel i Salvador Dali, a drugi 1969. go-dine za film Veljka BulajiÊa - Bitka na Neretvi.

Na filmskom festivalu u Monte Karlu 1964. godine, BulajiÊev do-kumentarni film Skopje 63 je dobio Gran pri. Nakon zvaniËnog pri-kazivanja filma, Marsel Aπer, predsjednik æirija, priredio je Pikasu pri-vatnu projekciju nagraenog filma. Slikar je bio zadivljen BulajiÊevimdjelom.

Kada je, nekoliko godina kasnije, Veljko BulajiÊ poËeo da radi Bi-tku na Neretvi, predloæio je Pikasu da uradi plakat za film. Pikaso jeodgledao film, prouËio prateÊe materijale i prihvatio posao. Posled-nju sliku iz ciklusa Otmica Sabinjanki, svoj poslednji veliki rad o uæa-sima rata, inspirisan politikom Dæona Kenedija prema Kubi, priredioje kao filmski plakat za Bitku na Neretvi.

Po autorovoj æelji, plakat je πtampan u osamdeset primjeraka.Svaki je potpisao na poleini i strogo zabranio njihovu upotrebu ukomercijalne svrhe. Slavni ©panac je od Veljka BulajiÊa traæio i dobioneobiËan honorar - dvanaest boca vina.

Film Bitka na Neretvi vidjelo je oko sto dvadeset miliona ljudi.Osvojio je Ëetrnaest meunarodnih filmskih nagrada i nominovan jeza Oskara. Svojevrsno priznanje dobio je i potpisom Pabla Pikasa naplakatu.

An opus of around 50 000 works was left behind PabloPicasso (1881-1973). “The XX century genius” creat-ed paintings, sculptures, graphics and ceramics, allwith the same passion and success. He was a little ofan anarchist, a revolutionary, a communist. Always an

engaged artist, he used to say: “An artist must not be just an ob-server of politics. No, a painting does not exist just to decorateapartments. It is an instrument of war for attacking and for defensefrom enemies”.

With the paining Mademoiselles of Avignon Picasso created in1907 a new style in art - cubism. Several years later, the cubistpaining arrived at the verge of abstraction. Picasso always thoughtthat “there was no abstract art since it always has to begin fromsomething”. In order to preserve the link with nature and give thepainting a form of concrete reality, in 1912 Picasso and GeorgeBraque used new means: typography and collage (papier collé).Synthetic cubism was thus created.

And it was precisely then, in the first great cycle of collages de-veloped during October-December 1912 that Picasso was inspiredby the events in the Balkans. French magazines, such as Le Journaland Les Soirées de Paris, published articles about the Balkan war,especially about Montenegro. Among numerous foreign reportersfrom the war battlefield there were also friends of Picasso. “KingNikola began an adventure - as if we were watching an excitingmovie”, the publicist Tudesk wrote. Stories on that “adventure”followed one another every day, stories about Montenegrin fightsfor Shkodra and diplomatic games related to it. Picasso transferredfragments of these stories from the front pages on to his collages.

At the beginning of the European political crisis caused by Balkanwars, the French diplomacy strived to preserve the status quo, toavoid war, i.e. to end it as soon as possible. Later, they acceptedcertain conquests on the part of Balkan allies as an accomplishedact. French public opinion was not undivided. One part supportedthe struggle of Balkan peoples, and the other part, to which Picassobelonged, was more inclined to peaceful politics. For Picasso warwas a perfect means for making stronger big forces on the accountof small peoples’ affliction. by around 120 million people. It won 14

international film awards and was

nominated for an Oscar. The signature of

Pablo Picasso on its poster represented

also a kind of acknowledgement.

Contact with the Movie

In his rich opus Picasso made only two movie posters. One wasmade in 1929 for the movie An Andalusian Dog, which was filmedby his friends Luis Bunuel and Salvador Dali, and the second in1969 for the movie of Veljko BulajiÊ, The Battle of Neretva.

At the film festival in Monte Carlo in 1964, the documentarymovie of BulajiÊ, Skopje 63 was awarded the Grand Prix. After theofficial showing of the movie, Marsel Asher, President of the jury,organized a private projection of the movie for Picasso. The painterwas amazed by the work of BulajiÊ.

When, several years later, Veljko BulajiÊ started working on TheBattle of Neretva, he proposed to Picasso to make a poster for themovie, Picasso saw the movie, studied the material and acceptedthe job. He arranged the last picture from the cycle Abduction ofSebinian Women, his last great work on war horrors inspired by thepolitics of John Kennedy in Cuba, as the film poster for the movieThe Battle of Neretva.

According to the author's desire, eighty copies of the posterwere printed. He signed each one on the back and their use tocommercial purposes was strictly forbidden. The famous Spaniardasked and obtained from Veljko BulajiÊ an unusual fee - twenty bot-tles of wine.

Na dvadesetak kilometara od najjuænijeg crnogorskoggrada Ulcinja, prema granici Albanije, nalazi se ©askojezero (Shasi), jedinstveno po svojoj ljepoti, bistro imirno, bogato ribom i staniπte raznovrsnih ptica. Dojezera se dolazi uskim putem koji prolazi kroz kameni-

ti predio obrastao niskim rastinjem. Priroda koja okruæuje samojezero sasvim je drukËija. Plodna ravnica, travnate povrπine i visokatrska pruæaju novi, gostoljubiviji ambijent. Prvo na πto se naie jesteinteresantan, prilagoen ambijentu, restoran Shasi, koji se nalazi uzjezero. Meutim, samo jezero se odatle joπ uvijek ne moæe vidjeti,osim πto visoka trska nagovjeπtava da se iza nje kriju voda i jezero.

Zimi je Ëitav kraj, osim atraktivanog restorana, pod jezerskomvodom, ali u ljetnjem periodu jedini prilaz do jezera je kanal dug okotrista metara, obrastao gustom trskom dok se po vodenoj povrπiniprostiru cvjetovi lokvanja. U Ëistoj vodi lako se mogu vidjeti primjer-ci rjeËne ribe. U vrijeme ribolovne sezone veliki broj ribolovacamoæe uæivati u ovom jedinstvenom ambijentu bogatom jezerskomribom i jeguljom.

©asko jezero je idealno izletniËko mjesto na kome se moæe orga-nizovati dobar piknik, igrati fudbal, odbojka, kupati se u Ëistoj itoploj jezerskoj vodi ili sunËati na specijalno pripremljenoj plaæi.Jedinstven doæivljaj je i voænja po jezeru malim Ëamcem, splavom iligliserom, a posebnan uæitak je letjenje motornim zmajem koji poli-jeÊe sa male piste ispred restorana Shasi.

Dvije kapije SvaËa

Sa sjeverne strane jezera nadvisuje se joπ jedna atrakcijaovog kraja - SvaË. Bio je to velik i blistav grad srednjov-jekovne Zete. Danas je on u ruπevinama, pust i mrtav ispada u najatraktivnije ”mrtve gradove” Jadrana. Nagrebenu iznad jezera i sada se vide ostaci srednjov-

jekovnog gradskog zida i dvije kapije. SvaË se prvi put pominje u XIvijeku kao episkopski grad, a po legendi koju su zapisali Dæustinijani

1533. godine i Bici 1610. godine, SvaË je imao crkava koliko je u go-dini dana.

Od ljudi ovog kraja ËuÊete i legendu koja kaæe da je crkve podiglaKosara, æena plemenitog dukljanskog kralja Vladimira. Podizanje365 crkava bilo je uslov da se njenom suprugu povrati vid koji jeizgubio u zatoËeniπtvu. O uzviπenoj ljubavi Vladimira i Kosare piπe”Ljetopis popa Dukljanina”, hronika koja se bavi genealogijom du-kljanskih vladara.

Danas se u SvaËu mogu prepoznati temelji osam crkava od kojihsu dvije najveÊe - katedrala sv. Jovana Krstitelja (albanski ©in -on),na najviπem dijelu grada sagraena u romanskom stilu i franjevaËkacrkva sv. Marije na zaravni u podgrau podignuta u gotskom stilu.Na novcu kovanom u SvaËu u XIV vijeku naslikana je trvava sva urenesansnim oblicima, na tri sprata, sa kolonodama i sa donæon ku-lom. To je jedana od najljepπih tvorevina fortifikacione arhitekture.

Daleke 1242. godine SvaË su napali Mongoli pod vostvomKajdan-kana, unuka Dæingis-kana. Poπto nisu mogli da osvoje Ulcinj,udarili su na SvaË, do temelja ga poruπili, a njegove stanovnike, kojinijesu uspjeli da pobjegnu, pobili.

Preæivjeli SvaËani uspijeli su da podignu svoj grad iz ruπevina, aliu XV vijeku grad je doæivio novi ruπilaËki udarac, ovog puta odTuraka. Poslije toga nikad nije obnovljen i æivot u njemu je zamro.

Proposal for an ideal excursion

Some twenty kilometers away from Ulcinj, the town in thefar southeast of Montenegro, towards the Albanian bor-der, there is the Sasko Lake (Shasi), unique for its beauty,clear and peaceful, rich with fish and a habitat of varioustypes of birds. The lake can be reached by a narrow road

running through the rocky area covered with small bushes. The na-ture that surrounds the lake itself is totally different. A fertile valley,grass covered land and high reed create a new, hospitable environ-ment. The first thing one runs into is an interesting Shasi restaurant,adjusted to the overall ambiance and situated right on the lake.However, the lake itself can still not be seen from that point, exceptfor the fact that the high reed announces that it hides the waters ofthe lake behind it. In winter times, the whole area, except for the at-tractive restaurant, is flooded by the lake, but in the summer timethe only way to reach the lake is a three hundred meters long canal,covered with dense reed, while the water is covered by the waterlilies. It is easy to notice different types of fish in the clear waters ofthe lake. During the fishing season a large number of fishermen canenjoy this unique environment rich with lake fish and eel.

The Sasko Lake is an ideal excursion area, where one can organ-ize a nice picnic, play soccer, volleyball, swim in the clean andwarm waters of the lake, or sunbathe in the especially developedbeach. A unique experience is the lake ride in a small boat, raft ormotor boat; or even more unusual - flying in a motor kite departingfrom the small runway in front of the Shasi restaurant.

The two gates of Svac

From the northern side, the lake is looked at by another at-traction of this region - Svac. It used to be a big and daz-zling town of the medieval Zeta. Today, it is in ruins, de-serted and dead, and it represents on of the most attrac-tive “deserted towns” of the Adriatic. On the reef above

the lake there are still some remnants of the medieval walls of thetown and of the two gates. Svac is mentioned for the first time inthe 11th century as the town of bishops, and according to the leg-end written by the Justinians in 1533, and by the Bici in 1610, Svachad as many churches as there are days in a year.

From the people of this region one can also hear the legend say-ing that the churches were built by Kosara, the wife of the noblePrince Vladimir of Duklja (Doclea). The construction of 365 church-es was a condition in order for her husband to regain sight that helost while in captivity. This noble love between Kosara and Vladimiris described in the book “Ljetopis popa Dukljanina” (“Chronicle ofthe Priest of Duklja” or Regnum Sclavorum), a chronicle dealingwith the genealogy of the rulers of Duklja.

Ingredients

1/2 kg of mussels1/2 kg of small shells200 g of prawns1 dl of olive oilsome fresh tomatoessome garlicpepper parslywhite wine

Put olive oil and garlic into a pan, add tomatoes and stew all together. Add mussels, small shells and prawns and then pepper and parsly. Cover with a lid and leave to boil. Add white wine in the end.

Today, one can find the remnants of eightchurches, out of which the two biggest ones arethe Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (Sin Djon inAlbanian), in the highest part of the town, built inthe Roman style, and the Franciscan Church of St.Mary, situated on a plateau in the lower part of thetown, built in the Gothic style. On the coins mint-ed in Svac in the 14th century there is a fortress ofa Renaissance style, with three stories, the colon-nades and a dungeon tower. It is one of the mostbeautiful creations of the fortification architecture.

In 1242 Svac was attacked by the Mongolians,lead by the grandson of Jingis-can. As they wereunable to conquer Ulcinj, they attacked Svac, de-stroyed it totally, and killed all the inhabitants whodid not manage to escape.

The inhabitants of Svac who survived managedto rebuild their town, but in the 15th century thetown was destroyed again, this time by the Turks.After that, it was never rebuilt and the life in it wascompletely extinct.

Bilo jednom u jednoj maloj Ëarob-noj zemlji izvoriπte bajki. Nalazilose u tuænom srcu jednog poseb-nog djeËaka. DjeËak je æivio u na-krivljenoj drvenoj kuÊi æute boje.

Njegova majka je bila previsoka i imala jepreveliki nos i previπe muæeva. On je mrzioboju njene jedine haljine i njene ruke, vjeËitosmrznute od pranja. DjeËakov otac mirisaoje na ljepilo za cipele i pravio mu je drvenepajace. DjeËak je imao i djeda koji se uvijekπetao sa papirnim πeπirom na glavi, pa su gadjeca zadirkivala da je lud poput svog djeda.Nakon oËeve smrti u ratu, mahovina je mno-go bræe prekrivala krov, zimski mrazevi suoπtrije πtipali, u kuÊi se palila samo jedna svi-jeÊa i rastao je strah od razliËitosti. Æuta kuÊase nalazila u istoj ulici u kojoj i zatvor. Za-tvorski Ëuvar kruæio je unaokolo sa sveænjemkljuËeva zakaËenim za pojas: oni su sigurnootvarali sva vrata ovog svijeta… DjeËak jepoËeo da sanjari da je kraljeviÊ koji æivi u os-vijetljenoj i toploj palati i ima sestru koja nebi mogla zaspati ako bi joj neko podmetnuozrno graπka ispod sedam duπeka na kojimase odmaraju kraljevi. Da njegova majka,poput snijeæne kraljice, moæe svakog dapretvori u ledenu statuu. To je bio naËin dazamrzne svoj bol i da ga viπe ne osjeÊa.DjeËak sanjaπe: da je bogati i prepredeni tr-govac, mala sirena koja æeli da dobije noge,mahuna koja cvjeta i postaje predivna biljka,kresivo koje ispunjava æelje…

Bajke se raaju iz tuænog i uplaπenog srcaovog djeteta, iz njegovog sna da bude nekodrugi. Njegovo je ime poznato πirom svijeta.On je Hans Kristijan Andersen.

I odrasli Andersen pati od brojnih neuroza ipreosjetljivosti. Jednog dana ga uæasava po-misao da je progutao Ëiodu, drugog dana je

ubijeen da gubi vid, muËi ga zubobolja,plaπi se vatre, nikada nije raπËistio da li je ho-moseksualac ili heteroseksualac. Ogleda seu dramskim tekstovima, piπe zanimljive pu-topise. Njegovi tekstovi su reminiscencije,pune prefinjenih mirisa proπlosti. Njegoveprelijepe i Ëesto tuæne bajke su sublimacijapatnje. ”Æivjele su u meni kao sjeme, i bio jedovoljan daπak vjetra, sunËev zrak ili kap sagorke trave da se ono razvije”, citira ga KnudFerlov u predgovoru zbirke od preko stotinubajki.

"Drvena kutija" u Odenzeu

U Odenzeu, na par metara od kuÊe u kojojje roen prije dvije sotine godina, nalazi sepredivna kuÊa za djecu, sva u brezovini istaklu. Ime joj je ”Drvena kutija” i svi izuvajucipele na ulazu.

Majke dolaze da doje novoroenËad, taminijaturna rozo-bijela biÊa Ëija lica provirujuiz kapuljaËa malenih skafandera. Majke æeleda njihovi prvi pogledi na svijet budu puni bo-ja i magije. Djedovi i bake dovode unuËad,bdijuÊi nad njihovim snovima dok i samiponovo otkrivaju Ëari maπte koja ne zna zagodine.

Svi dobijaju na poklon crveni kartonski ko-ferËiÊ sa papirnom pahuljicom, parËetom og-ledala i drvenim kaleidoskopom. Na ulazu senaπaraju lica i navuku se crni perjani ogrtaËi,plavo-bijela satenska odijela, uzimaju se kar-tonski maËevi i vilini Ëarobni πtapiÊi. Potomulazite u ovu kuÊu i postajete neko drugi. Udrvenoj kuÊici je kraljevski tron na koji naizm-jeniËno sjedaju male plave djevojËice. Oneisprobavaju smijeπne ledene poglede premaostaloj djeci, zaËuene πto se ona ne pret-varaju u ledene kipove.

Ljubav je magija

I nakon dva vijeka, na ovom bajkovitommjestu, koje miriπe na svijeÊe, svi su pomaloAndersen, svi su u njegovim bajkama, na

njegovim fantastiËnim putovanjima, dio nje-gove taπtine, potrebe za bjekstvom i dio nje-govih strahova. Nije vaæno πto su se vreme-na promijenila, broji se samo ono πto ostaje:zima, gradiÊi od drveta i kristala, zelene ure-ene πume, labudovi koji se nespretno kliza-ju na ledu, Ëipkasti dvorci, toplina u kuÊamaza patuljke, vezene zavjese i cvijeÊe na pro-zorima.

Malena Danska obiljeæava godiπnjicu roe-nja svog slavnog sunarodnika nizom prosla-va i manifestacija, a preko sto zemalja najav-ilo je proslave.

Nakon dvjesta godina, πirom svijeta, bezobzira na godine, svi smo Andersen i nje-gove bajke. Ono πto se vremenom promije-nilo nema znaËaja: tamo su svi jednaki - bo-gati i siromaπni, lukavi i glupi, nesreÊne i vje-Ëne ljubavi.

Djeci se dopadaju ljudske osobine kojekod Andersena poprimaju æivotinje, kao i toπto predmeti oæivljavaju i Ëesto postaju boljiod ljudi.

Odraslima se dopada koncept biÊa i izgle-da i ironija sa kojom prikazuje ljudsku taπtinu.

Svima se, bez razlike, svia to πto je ljubavjedina prava vrijednost, jedini izvor magiË-nog, pa Ëak i kada je neuzvraÊena ili teπka.Ljubav i poslije smrti: poput ljubavi olovnogvojnika prema papirnoj balerini, ili ljubavisirene prema princu.

©to ti æeliπ da budeπ veËeras prije negoπto utoneπ u san? Vjerovatno djevojËica veli-Ëine malog prsta koja leti na leima lasta-vice, carev slavuj koji lijeËi sve bolesti, iliolovni vojnik koji je umio da voli.

Bajka je san o tome da budemo neko dru-gi, onaj drugi koji negdje duboko u sebi i jes-mo; ponekad nam prosto treba transformaci-ja, baπ kao i ruænom paËetu koje je poæeljeloda bude labud.

The Beginning of a Fairy-Tale

Once upon a time in a tiny magi-cal land there was a source offairy-tales. It resided in theaching heart of an extraordi-nary boy. The boy lived in a

slanted, yellow wooden hut. His motherwas too tall and had too big a nose and toomany husbands. He loathed the colour ofher only dress and her hands, forever frozenfrom washing. The boy’s father reeked ofshoe-glue and made him wooden clowns.The boy had a grandfather too, who alwayswalked with a paper hat on his head, and thekids used to tease him that he was a nut-case, just like his grandfather. Following hisfather’s death in war, moss covered the roofmuch faster, winter frosts had an evensharper bite, whereas the house was lit byone single candle with fear of the othernessnoticeably growing. The yellow house wasin the same street where the prison was lo-cated. The prison warden would walk

around with a bunch of keys attached to hisbelt: they certainly opened all the doors ofthis world… The boy started daydreamingthat he was a prince living in a brightly light-ed and warm palace and that he had a sisterunable to fall asleep if someone surrepti-tiously placed a pea under the seven mat-tresses kings rested on; that his mother, likea snow queen, had a power to turn every-one into an ice statue. That was his way todeaden his pain and no longer feel it. Theboy had a dream: that he was a wealthy andcunning merchant, a small mermaid longingfor a pair of legs, a pod that flourishes turn-ing into a most beautiful plant, tinder makingother people’s wishes come true…

Fairy-tales were born out of the sad andfrightened heart of this child, out of hisdream to be someone else. His name iswell-known all over the world. He is HansChristian Andersen.

Even as an adult, Andersen suffered froma number of neuroses and hypersensitivity.One day he would torment himself with thethought that he had swallowed a pin; on theother, he was convinced his eyesight wasfailing. He was racked by toothache, had afear of fire and had never cleared up themystery whether he was a homosexual or aheterosexual. He had some experience inwriting dramatic texts and also wrote engag-ing travel books. His texts are reminis-cences imbued with subtle scents of thepast. His beautiful and often sad fairy-talesare the sublimation of suffering. “They livedinside me as a seed, and a mere breath ofwind, a sunray or a drop from some bittergrass were enough for it to sprout”, KnudFerlow quoted him in the preface to his col-lection of over a hundred stories.

“Wooden Box” in Odense

In Odense, a few yards away from thehouse Andersen was born in two hundredyears ago, there is a beautiful children’shouse, all in birch-wood and glass. It iscalled “Wooden Box” and everybody takesoff their shoes at its entrance.

Mothers come here to breastfeed theirnewborn babies, those tiny pink and whitecreatures whose faces peep out of thehoods of their one piece ski suits. Theywant to ensure that their babies open theireyes to the world of colours and magic.Grandparents bring their grandchildren,watching over their dreams and rediscover-ing themselves the joys of imagination thatknows no age limits.

Everybody is given a present here, a redcardboard box with a paper snowflake, apiece of mirror and a wooden kaleidoscope.At the very entrance, visitors paint their

faces, put on black feather cloaks and blueand white satin clothes, and take cardboardswords or magic wands. Then they enterthe house and become someone else.There is a royal throne in the wooden housewhere tiny blond girls take turns to sit. Theytry out comical icy looks on other kids, won-dering why they do not turn into icestatutes.

Love is Magic

Two centuries later, in this fairyland filledwith a scent of flowers, everybody is a bit ofan Andersen; everybody is in his fairy-tales,joining his fantastic journeys; everybody ispart of his vanity, his fears and his need toescape. It does not matter if the time haschanged; it is what remains that counts:winter, little towns made of wood and crys-tal, cultivated green woods, swans thatclumsily slide on the ice, lacy castles,warmth in dwarfs’ houses, embroidered cur-tains and flowers on the windows.

Tiny Denmark marks the bicentenary ofthe birth of their renowned countryman witha number of celebrations and events,whereas over a hundred countries aroundthe globe announced their own intention tocelebrate.

Two hundred years later, all over theworld, irregardless of age, we are allAndersen and his fairy-tales. Things thathave changed in time are irrelevant: every-body is equal there - the rich and the poor,the cunning and the stupid, unhappy andeternal loves.

Children like human traits that Andersengives to animals, as well as the fact that hegives life to things making them frequentlybetter than people. Adults like the conceptof the essence and looks, as well as theirony with which Andersen depicts people’svanity. Everybody without exception likesthe fact that he portrays love as the only val-ue, only source of magic, even when it is un-requited or painful. Love after death even:like the love of the iron soldier for the paperballerina or love of the mermaid for a prince.

What do you want to be tonight beforeyou drift into sleep? Probably a Thumbelinaflying on the back of a swallow, theEmperor’s nightingale who can cure all dis-eases, or the iron soldier who knew how tolove.

A fairy-tale is a dream to become some-one else, someone who deep inside we are;sometimes we merely need a transforma-tion, just like the ugly duckling that wishedto become a swan.

On je taj koji je unio revoluciju u arhitektu-ru 20. vijeka. Njegove kuÊe izgledaju kao dasu izaπle iz neke bajke. Ili kao da su vile tuumijeπale svoje prste. Salvador Dali vidio ihje ovako: "Gaudi je jednu kuÊu napravio odmora, od pomahnitalih talasa. Druga je odmirne vode jezera. Ovo nisu metafore. Ilibajke. Ove kuÊe stvarno postoje". Veomavaæna liËnost u Gaudijevom æivotu, Ëovjekkoji mu je omoguÊio da ostvari svoje najeks-travagantnije ideje, bio je bogati bankarEusebio Guell. Park koji je radio po njegovojnarudæbi, turistiËka je atrakcija grada. Ali,simbol Barselone, nedovrπeni Gaudijev sanje hram Sagrada Familija. Istorija umjetnostine poznaje niπta nalik njemu.

PriËa o ovoj katedrali poËinje 1881. go-dine, kada je knjiæar Hoze Maria Bokabela ku-pio zemljiπte na kojem je, u znak pokajanja,æelio da sagradi hram posveÊen svetoj po-rodici. Rad na velelepnoj graevini zapoËeoje 1883. Gaudi je u to vrijeme bio isuviπemlad i sasvim nepoznat. Angaæovan je kao

jedan od pomoÊnika, ali samo nakon dvijegodine postaje glavni projektant najambi-cioznijeg poduhvata u æivotu. Iako je veÊ biozapoËeo svoje prve, u to vrijeme, baπ kao i

sada, senzacionalne projekte - KuÊu Vicens,El Capricho, a onda i dvije njegove najpoz-natije kuÊe, Casa Batllo i Casa Mila, odnosnoLa Pedrera, kao i park Guell, Sagrada Familiaje bila njegova najveÊa i jedina strast. Po-svetio joj je 43 godine svog æivota.

Sagrada Familia okruæena je i danas kra-novima i graditeljima i moglo bi se ostvaritiono πto je Gaudi proroËki rekao: "Sveti JosifÊe je zavrπiti sam." Jedan ljudski vijek nijedovoljan za to. Kakva god da bude sudbinaove crkve i ma kada da bude zavrπena, onanikada neÊe biti onakva kakva bi bila da jeraena po zamislima njenog projektanta.Zdanje je trebalo da bude visoko 160 metarai sve na njemu je u znaku simbola. Osamprednjih stubova prikazuju gradove Valen-siju, Granadu, Toledo, Saragosu, Burgos,Valjadolid, Santjago i Sevilju. »etiri veÊa stu-ba posveÊena su jevanelistima Mateju,Marku, Luki i Jovanu, a po tri apostola Ëuva-ju po tri ulaza, sa po troje vrata. Za vjeru,nadu i milosre.

A i sam Gaudi nije mnogo mario za svojeprojekte. Radio je po intuiciji, trenutnoj in-spiraciji, bez asistenata i nasljednika. I stvo-rio neponovljivo djelo svojstveno samo geni-

Kaæu da je tog 12. juna 1926. godine povo-rka koja je iπla od bolnice Santa Kruz u sta-rom dijelu grada, prema crkvi Sagrada Fa-milia, bila duga kilometrima. "Najgeniozniji odsvih arhitekata", kako su ga nazivali, uz Papinblagoslov, sahranjen je u kripti nedovrπenecrkve, kojoj je posvetio Ëitav æivot. Samonekoliko dana prije, dok je bio u jednoj dosvojih uobiËajenih πetnji, udario ga je tramvaj.U dæepu njegovog kaputa ostao je crteæ zajednu od fasada crkve po kojoj se danas pre-poznaje Barselona. I zbog koje milioni turistaiz Ëitavog svijeta idu u ovaj grad.

Gaudi made one house out of the sea, out of the enragedwaves. The second out of thepeaceful lake water. These arenot metaphors. Or fairy tales.The houses really exist.

There is something indescribableabout the moment of encounterwith Barcelona. Simply, there areplaces that leave you breathlessand win you over at first sight. The

capital city of Catalonia, the Mediterraneanport from which Columbus set off on his fa-mous journey is one of the most beautifulcities in Europe. And something differentfrom the rest of Spain.

The city that never sleeps, that in itselfpreserves Dali, Picasso, Juan Miro... hasbeen made widely known by another ge-nius, the architect named Antonio Gaudi.His creative work leaves no-one indifferent.At the beginning of last century his contem-

poraries mocked him, at the beginning ofthis century he is celebrated and praised asno-one before. His spirit and work form aninseparable part of Barcelona. The Ca-talonians do not hide today to what extentthey are proud of what Antonio Gaudi creat-ed and left to them as heritage.

He was the one that revolutionized the XXcentury architecture. His houses seem tohave emerged from a fairy tale. Or, it seemsas if fairies have had a hand in his work. Thisis how Salvador Dali saw them: “Gaudimade one house out of the sea, out of theenraged waves. The second out of the pe-aceful lake water. These are not metaphors.Or fairy tales. The houses really exist.” Avery important person in Gaudi’s life, theman who made it possible for him to realizehis most extravagant ideas, was the rich ba-nker Eusebio Guell. The park created uponhis commission is the tourist attraction ofthe city. But the symbol of Barcellona andGaudi’s unaccomplished dream is the tem-ple Sagrada Familia. The history of art kno-ws of nothing similar to it.

The story about this cathedral begins in1881, when the bookseller Jose Maria Boka-

bela bought the land on which, as a sign ofrepentance, he wanted to construct a tem-ple devoted to his family. Work on the mag-nificent construction began in 1883. At thetime Gaudi was too young and utterly un-

known. He was hired as one of assistants,to become the main designer of the mostambitious undertaking in his life only twoyears later. Even though he had already be-gan his first, and at that time, just like today,most sensational projects - the House Vice-ns, El Capricho, and then also two of hismost famous houses, Casa Batillo and CasaMila, or La Pedrera, as well as the park Gu-ell, Sagrada Familia was his greatest and on-ly passion. To it he devoted 43 years of life.

Even today, Sagrada Familia is surro-unded by cranes and constructors and whatGaudi prophetically said: “Saint Joseph willcomplete it by himself” may come true.One human life is not enough for it. Wha-tever the destiny of his church might be,and no matter when it is completed, it willnever be what its architect designed it to be.The structure was supposed to be 160 me-ters high and everything on it is symbollic.Eight columns in the front represent thetowns of Valensia, Granada, Toledo, Sara-gosa, Burgos, Valladolid, Santiago and Se-ville. Four larger columns are devoted to theEvangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John,and three apostles guard each of the three

entrances with three doors - for faith, hope and mercy.Gaudi himself did not care much about his projects either. He

worked following his intuition, his instantaneous inspiration, with-out assistants and heirs. And he created a unique work characteris-tic of the genius he was. “The man who was missed by all officialrewards during his life, whose art at the time was marked as toochallenging and “crazy“ represents an icon of modern architecturetoday. Through his creations he turned Barcelona into stone eterni-ty. And into a great gallery of his art. He became the symbol of thecity. On the day he died the whole of Barcelona was in mourning.

It is said that on that 12 June 1926 the procession that startedfrom the hospital Saint Cruz in the old part of the town towards thechurch Segrada Familia was kilometers long. “The most ingeniousof all architects”, as he used to be called, was buried with a bless-ing from the Pope in a crypt of the unfinished church to which hedevoted his whole life. Only a few days before, during one of hisusual walks, he was hit by a tram. In the pocket of his coat wasfound a drawing for one of the facades of the church by whichBarcelona is recognized today and due to which millions of touristsfrom the whole world come to this town.

U toku realizacije organizovano je preko 30 prezentacija πiromCrne Gore, regiona i Evrope, na kojima je predstavljen 30 preduzeÊaiz prehrambene industrije .

Direkcija je takoe u saradnji sa privatnim preduzeÊem Gemax,zavrπila prvi set Programa poklon paketa MADE IN MONTENEGRO(5 vrsta pakovanja), nazvan "Tvoj dio Crne Gore", dok su u pripreminovi paketi sa novim rjeπenjima i sadræajem pakovanja.

Sve ovo rezultiralo je poveÊanjem asortimana proizvoda za preko30%, prije svega u mesnoj industriji. Takoe, oËekuje se da ukupanpromet na domaÊem træiπtu mesne industrije u 2004. godini budeoko sto miliona eura, πto znaËi da Êe se poveÊati za oko 25% u

The Project ”Made in Montenegro”, implemented by theAgency for the development of small and medium sizeenterprises in cooperation with the Ministry of Agricultureand the Ministry of Tourism, is focused on the institution-al campaign promoting the potentials of Montenegro, lo-

cal products and producers. The basic goal of this project is the in-troduction of the system of standards as a precondition for the cre-ation of the Montenegrin trademark - the quality that will be pro-duced in accordance with the EU standards and which will be com-petitive in the local, as well as in the interna-tional market.

Montenegrin wines, early fruits and veg-etables, mineral water, beer, smoked hamfrom Njegusi region, cheese from Njegusiand Durmitor region, and numerous otherproducts are faced with an important and re-sponsible mission - after the confirmation ofthe leading position in the local market, touse their quality, supported by the labelMADE IN MONTENEGRO, to find their wayto the European markets and to attract the in-terest of the foreign consumers. Having inmind the development sectors, the priorities are: agriculture,tourism and wood processing.

KACUN is the flower characteristic for the Mediterranean region,and especially for Montenegro. Kacun is one of the first springflowers. It grows from the rocks, under the snow, in a large num-ber and only in the ecologically clean areas.

During the implementation of the program there were over 30presentations organized throughout Montenegro, the region and

Europe, in which 30 companies from the food industry were pre-sented.

In cooperation with the private company Gemax, the Agency hasalso finished the first part of the Program of gift packs MADE INMONTENEGRO (5 types of packs), named “Your part ofMontenegro”, while they are currently working on the preparationof the new packs with the new design and new contents.

This has all contributed to the increase in the product assortmentby over 30%, primarily in the meat industry. Also, the overall sales

in the local market of the meat industry areexpected to be approximately 100 million eu-ros in 2004, which means that it will increaseby approximately 25% as compared to 2003.

The new types of campaigns will also beinitiated, such as the ambassadors of MADEIN MONTENEGRO, the distribution centerswill get involved in the campaign, and it is al-so planned to continue with the active partici-pation in the local and international fairs.

The Project “Promotion of theMontenegrin products” and the creation ofthe trade mark “Made in Montenegro” is es-pecially focused on tourism as the strategic

development sector in Montenegro. For that purpose there areMeetings of the agricultural producers and Meetings of the repre-sentatives of the tourist industry organized in order to base theMontenegrin tourist offer on the local products and in order to en-able the Montenegrin tourist workers to offer to the foreign and lo-cal guests primarily the products with the label “Made inMontenegro”.

Montenegrin entrepreneurs who intend to accept the challengesof the modern economy and take part in the adventure of conquer-ing the foreign markets are aware of all the obstacles awaitingthem, but are also determined to take the opportunity, especially inthe fields in which Montenegro has comparative advantages.

Kanarska ostrva su destinacijakoja garantuje toplo vrijeme ijeftin boravak. Zbog svog geo-grafskog poloæaja skoro tokomËitave godine imaju blagu kli-

mu. Iz tog razloga su ranije bila nazvanaSretna ostrva. Mnogi Evropljani ovdje ima-ju i zimske rezidencije. Kanari su grupa odsedam ostrva u Atlantiku koja geografskipripadaju Africi, a politiËki su autonomnidio ©panije. Udaljeni su 150 kilometara odzapadnog dijela Maroka, a 1500 kilometaraod ©panije. Po nekim legendama imeKanari potiËe od latinske rijeËi canis πtoznaËi psi, jer su navodno na ostrvima æivjelimnogobrojni psi.

gobrojne uske uliËice, kao i muzej posveÊen Kristoferu Kolumbukoji se ovdje zaustavio na putu ka novom kontinentu. Turisti u LasPalmasu ne propuπtaju nezaobilaznu kilometarsku plaæu i prome-nadu Kanteras koja u svako doba dana ima svoju Ëar. Tu se πetaju,kupaju i sunËaju strani turisti; okupljaju lokalni penzioneri i pre-priËavaju dnevni dogaaji. The fortunate islands

The Canary Islands represent a dest-ination that guarantees warm wea-ther and cheap stay. Due to theirgeographical position they have amild climate almost throughout the

year. That is why in the past they were calledthe fortunate islands. Many Europeans havetheir winter residences here. The Canary isla-nds represent a group of seven islands in theAtlantic, which geographically belong to Afri-ca, but politically they represent an autono-mous part of Spain. They are situated 150km away from the western part of Morocco,and 1500 km away from Spain. According tosome legends, the name Canary comesfrom the Latin word canis, which means thedogs, as there were supposedly many dogsliving in the islands.

The African - European mixture

The third largest Canary island isthe Gran Canaria, with approxima-tely 790 000 inhabitants, out ofwhich one half lives in the capital -Las Palmas. Throughout the year

approximately 2.2 million tourists visit thisisland. Due to its geographical position thisisland was subject to numerous cultural in-fluences and today people of various nation-alities and races live there in tolerance. The-re are many Africans on the streets, whocome from the western part of the conti-nent, and who are dressed in their tradition-al costumes. The aborigines of this islandwere the cavemen called Guanches, whowere subjugated to Spain in the 15th centu-ry, and who were exterminated in time. Nu-merous caves still remind us of them. The

In the higher parts of the islandthere are some green oases, however, most of the island is rela-tively bare. Due to the bad quality of soil, fruits and vegetables areimported, which is unusual for an island so rich in sun. There areonly numerous banana plantations.

Las Palmas

Las Palmas was founded in 1478, according to the urbanmodel of Seville. The old part of the city, Vegeta, repre-sents the most beautiful part of the city, with severaltourist attractions. The best-known ones are the Ca-thedral of St. Anna, the Canary Museum with various ex-

hibits related to the aborigines of this island, numerous narrowstreets, as well as the Museum dedicated to Christopher Colu-mbus, who stopped here on his way to the new continent. Thetourists in Las Palmas never miss the one-kilometer long beachand the Canteras promenade, which has its special charm any timeof the day. This is where the foreign tourists walk, swim and sun-bathe; and where local pensioners gather and retell daily events.This place attracts the Chinese as a magnet, and they have awhole set of restaurants and stores with cheap products there,which, unfortunately, endangers the authenticity of the Canary at-mosphere, but adds to the multinational character of this city.

The Canary tourist package

The Gran Canaria has a very good bus network that enablespeople to visit the whole island for a very low price and ina relatively short time. The buses leave Las Palmas in al-most all the directions in regular intervals. One of thebiggest and the most famous tourist places in the Gran

Canaria is la Playa del Ingles, with a 3 km long beach, with sanddunes, creating the atmosphere of an African desert, and floodedwith tourists throughout the year. This city in the southern part ofthe island represents a huge tourist complex, with the hotels linedup like the dominos. This type of a tourist place does not suit every-one, especially not those who want authenticity of the landscapeand who wish to enjoy in the peace of the natural beauties. Februar je vrijeme karnevala u Italiji. Spremali smo se zaonaj najveÊi, zavrπni, koji se odræavao u Veneciji. Viπe pu-ta sam bila u ovom neobiËnom gradu podignutom na arhi-pelagu malih ostrva, u pokrajini Veneto, ali karnevalskedane sam nekako uvijek propuπtala. Bila je ovo savrπena

prilika da zaokruæim sliku o Veneciji.Stigli smo oko 9 sati i magla se joπ dizala. Prvi doæivljaj Venecije,

kao i svaki put - vlaæan vazduh sa slatkastim mirisom koji je dopiraoiz kafea i poslastiËarnica i stotine pitomih golubova u niskom letukoji leprπanjem svojih krila stvaraju sliku konstantnog pokreta svakeuliËice, svakog trga. Ali, ovaj put Venecija je imala neπto za menenovo, glamurozno, mistiËno. Svi prolaznici na koje smo naiπli od ra-nog jutra bili su maskirani. Turista nije bilo, joπ uvijek, ali su se nazi-rali prepuni brodiÊi koji su polako pristizali kanalom Grande do pris-taniπta.

PribliæavajuÊi se Trgu svetog Marka, zagledala sam se u dvaogromna stuba izmeu Duædeve palate i Sansovino biblioteke, iz-meu kojih je nekada davno vrπena egzekucija zarobljenika, a kojisimboliËki predstavljaju vrata prema moru. U tom trenutku kra-jiËkom oka spazila sam muπku priliku sa dugim crnim plaπtom kojaje brzo zamakla kroz jedan uski prolaz. To je mogao biti samo Ka-zanova! Odmah sam zaboravila na ljepotu dva dorska stuba i na hil-jade poslednjih æelja koje su ostale izmeu njih, dajuÊi im nekuposebnu draæ. Ubrzala sam korak i krenula za Kazanovom. Spustilasam sa Ëela zelenu masku sa paperjem na oËi i odjednom kao dasam se naπla u filmu "Looking for Casanova". I zaista, imala sam naj-ljepπe kulise i statiste, jer grad je veÊ bio pun maskiranih ljudi. Mojpuls i korak bili su sve bræi. Iπla sam uskim uliËicama kojima je odje-kivalo kikotanje dama sa lepezama i krinolinama. Preπla sam dobardio mostova, od ukupno 350 koliko ih ima u Veneciji, i izgubila se ulavirintu mreæe kanala. A onda sam na jednom trgu ugledala crniplaπt.

Zvuk gitare i kancona o zabranjenoj ljubavi uËinili su trenutak be-skrajno romantiËnim. Kazanova je stajao sa grupicom ljudi sliËnoobuËenih njemu, ali maska sa karakteristiËnim zlatnim nosom jeodavala njegov identitet. Pribliæila sam mu se na par metara i od-luËno rijeπila da upoznam najveÊeg italijanskog πarmera 18. vijeka,kad me prenuo zvuk mobilnog telefona. Na displeju je bila poruka:"Obustavi πoping, Ëekamo te kod mosta Rialto, idemo na ka-puÊino."

Skinula sam masku, iluzija se rasprπila, moje pink, satenskecipele za velikim broπevima, pretvorile su se u adidas patike. Crniplaπt je opet zamakao iza Êoπka. Pomislila sam da je Italijanima dos-ta πto je jedna Crnogorka - Jelena, uljepπala lozu Savoja, okrenulase i prvog prolaznika upitala: "Dov’é il Ponte di Rialto?"

February is the time of carnivals in Italy. We were gettingready for the biggest, the final one that was to be held inVenice. I have been several times in this extraordinarytown erected on an archipelago of small islands, in the re-gion of Veneto, but somehow I always missed the days

of the carnival. This was a perfect opportunity to round off my pic-ture of Venice.

We arrived at around 9 a.m. and the mist was still rising. Thefirst experience of Venice was the same each time - the humid airfilled with sweet scent coming from the cafés and pastry shopsand from hundreds of low flying domesticated pigeons that by flu-ttering of their wings create an image of constant movement inevery street, every square. However, this time, Venice had some-thing that was new for me, something glamorous, mystical. All thepassers by that we encountered were masked from the early mo-rning. There were no tourists still, but one could discern little cram-full boats arriving slowly through the Canal Grande to the quay.

Advancing towards the Square of St. Mark, I stared at two enor-mous columns between the Doge’s Palace and the SansovinoLibrary, between which prisoners used to be executed long agoand which symbolically represented the door to the sea. At thatmoment I caught sight of a male figure with a long cloak, whichwas disappearing swiftly through an alley. It could be no one else

but Casanova! I immediately forgot about the beauty of two Doriccolumns and about thousands of last wishes that remained be-tween them endowing them thus with a special allure. Speedingup my pace I went after Casanova. I put the green feathered maskfrom my forehead down to my eyes and at that moment as if Ifound myself in the movie "Looking for Casanova". Indeed, I had themost beautiful scenery and extras because the town was alreadycrammed with masked poeple. My pulse and my step were be-coming faster. I took the narrow streets that echoed with gigglingof ladies wearing crinolines and carrying fans. Crossing most of the350 bridges in Venice, I lost myself in the labyrinth of canals net-work. And then, at one of the squares, I saw the black cloak.

The sound of the guitar and of canzones speaking of forbiddenlove made the moment incredibly romantic. Casanova was stand-ing with a group of people wearing clothes similar to his, but themask with the characteristic golden nose revealed his identity. Icame several meters close to him determined to meet the greatestItalian charmer of the XVIII century, when I was stirred up by thesound of my mobile phone. The following message was on the dis-play: "Suspend the shopping, we are waiting for you near the Rialto,let’s go for a cappuccino. ”

I took off the mask, the illusion was dispelled, my pink satinshoes with large brooches turned into addidas shoes. The blackcloak disappeared behind the corner again. I thought it sufficed thatone Montenegrin lady - Queen Helena made the lineage of Savoiamore beautiful, I turned around and asked the first passer by:"Dov’é il Ponte di Rialto?"
