The first GMM of Fiscal Year 2018-19 was quite remarkable with a total of 72 architects attending the GMM including 6 new board passers. The new admin headed by Arch. Prince Bac-ingan, presented the plans and programs of the chapter for the Fiscal Year which was warmly accepted by all the members present. The new Admin’s main aim is to improve the participation of all members and to find ways on how to both promote and protect the profession as one united body.

UAP-La Union was one of the participating teams in the 2nd Inter Profession Basketball League (La Union), which opened last June 30, 2018 at the Basketball Court of Brgy. Sevilla, San Fernando City, La Union. There are 7 Teams participating in the tournament namely; IIEE (Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines), EDUCATORS (Teachers of La Union), PICE (Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers), PSME (Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers), IBP (Integrated Bar of the Philippines), GEP (Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines) and UAP-LU. The participating team members are all licensed professionals in their field.

This is the second tournament of the same name hosted by IIEE. The first tournament was held on 2016 with the IIEE as the defending Champions but was participated only by 5 Teams; IIEE, PICE, UAP, PSME, GEP.

The tournament is still on-going where UAPLU still has 2 games left for the elimination round. Only 4 teams out of 7 will go on to the Semi-finals based on the top 4 ranks.

This tournament was authored by the 2017-18 Chapter Presidents of 4 District A1a Chapters (La Union, Laoag, Ylocos Vigan and Ciudad Fernandina). The aim is to promote sportsmanship and camaraderie not only between Chapter members but also with the members of the other Chapters.

The 3rd game of UAPLU vs Laoag Chapter standee (combined ICF and YV Chapter) where UAPLU got its 2nd win improving to a 2-1 win-loss record at NLPSC Gymnasium, Candon, Ilocos Sur on May 20, 2018.

UAPLU and ICF Chapters with both a 2-1 win-loss record will move on to play the championship games in San

Fernando, La Union.


The Championship Game between UAPLU Chapter and Ilocos Ciudad Fernandina Chapter held at Saint Louis

College Gymnasium, Lingsat, San Fernando, La Union on June 17, 2018. ICF will go on to win the Title defeating UAPLU 89-71 with the best player of the game, their very own president, Arch. Mark Artates, whose hot shooting was

reminiscent of Steph Curry’s Finals Performance.

UAPLU Bags the 1st Runner-Up award of the Inter-Chapter Basketball Tournament. We would have to wait for the 2nd

season before we can get our revenge. We’ll surely take the Title next time.
