From the Bias Weave Texture - Black (B), cut:• (2) 2 ½” x 42 ½” WOF strips, piece as needed.• (2) 2” x 25 ½” WOF strips. • (4) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 72 ½” strips.• (3) 1 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut (2) 1 ½” x 50 ½” strips.

From the Moonshine Border Stripe - Black (C), cut:• (2) 9 ½” x 96” Length of Fabric (LOF) strips. • (2) 9 ½” x 72” LOF strips. • From the remaining fabric, cut (18) 4 ½” squares. From the Bias Weave Texture - Gold (D), cut:• (1) 5 ¼” x WOF strip. Sub-cut (5) 5 ¼” squares. Cut the squares across both diagonals to make (20) 5 ¼” triangles.• (2) 2 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (11) 2 ½” x 4 ½” strips.

Center Block1. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the 21 ½” x 42 ½” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2” x 25 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 24 ½” x 44 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1).

2. Sew (1) 5 ¼” Fabric E triangle and (1) 5 ¼” Fabric F triangle together. Sew (1) 5 ¼” Fabric D triangle and (1) 5 ¼” Fabric E triangle together. Sew the (2) newly sewn triangles together along the long side to make (1) Unit 1 square (Fig. 2). The block should measure 4 ½” square. Repeat to make (20) Unit 1 squares total.

3. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric G strip to the top of (1) Unit 1 square, where the Fabric F side of the Unit 1 square is on the left side, to make (1) Unit 2 rectangle (Fig. 3). Repeat to make (8) Unit 2 rectangles total.

4. Repeat Step 3 and refer to Figure 4 for the component identification, placement and orientation to make (8) Unit 3 rectangles.

5. Sew (2) Unit 1 squares together. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric G strip to the top of the newly sewn block to make (1) Unit 4 rectangle (Fig. 5).

6. Repeat Step 5 and refer to Figure 6 for component identification, placement and orientation to make (1) Unit 5 rectangle.

7. Place (1) 2 ½” Fabric G square on the left side of (1) 2 ½’ x 4 ½” Fabric F strip, right sides together (Fig. 7). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (Fig. 7). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 8). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance.

8. Place another 2 ½” Fabric G square on the right side of the 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric F strip, right sides together (Fig. 9). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 9). Flip open the triangle formed and press. Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼” seam allowance to make (1) Unit 6 strip (Fig. 10).

9. Repeat Steps 7-8 to make (11) Unit 6 strips total.

10. Repeat Steps 7-8 and refer to Figure 11 for fabric identification, placement and seam direction to make (11) Unit 7 strips.

12. Repeat Step 11 and refer to Figures 13-19 for component identification, placement and orientation to make (2) Unit 9 rectangles, (3) Unit 10 rectangles, (2) Unit 11 rectangles, (2) Unit 12 rectangles, (2) Unit 13 rectangles, (2) Unit 14 rectangles and (2) Unit 15 rectangles.

11. Sew (1) Unit 6 strip to the left side of (1) 4 ½” Fabric C square to make (1) Unit 8 rectangle (Fig. 12). Repeat to make (3) Unit 8 rectangles total.

13. Sew (1) 2 ½” Fabric G square to the top of (1) Unit 7 strip to make (1) Unit 16 strip (Fig. 20).

14. Repeat Step 13 and refer to Figures 21-23 for component identification, placement and orientation to make (1) Unit 17 strip, (1) Unit 18 strip and (1) Unit 19 strip.

15. Follow Figure 24 and sew together (11) assorted units to make the Inner Left Side Border. Repeat to make the Inner Right Side Border (Fig. 25).

16. Follow Figure 26 and sew together (9) assorted units to make the Inner Top Border. Repeat to make the Inner Bottom Border (Fig. 27).

17. Place (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric I square on top of (1) 2 ⅞” Fabric J square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 28). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 28). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 29) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 2 ½” square to make (2) Unit 20 squares (Fig. 30). Repeat to make (36) Unit 20 squares total.

18. Repeat Step 17 and refer to Figures 31-32 for fabric identification and placement to make (36) 2 ½” Unit 21 squares and (36) 2 ½” Unit 22 squares.

19. Sew (1) 1 ½” Fabric K square to each side of (1) 1 ½” Fabric J square to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew (1) 1 ½” Fabric J square to each side of (1) 1 ½” Fabric H square to make the middle row. Sew the (3) rows together to make (1) Unit 23 square (Fig. 33). Repeat to make (36) Unit 23 squares total.

20. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric J strip, (1) Unit 20 square and (1) Unit 22 square together in that order left to right to make the top row. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of (1) Unit 20 square. Sew the newly sewn strip to the right side of (1) Unit 23 square to make the bottom row. Sew the (2) rows together to make (1) 5 ½” Unit 24 square (Fig. 34). Repeat to make (18) Unit 24 squares.

21. Repeat Step 20 and refer to Figure 35 for component identification, placement and orientation to make (18) 5 ½” Unit 25 squares.

22. Sew together (1) 2 ½” Fabric L square, (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric J strip, (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric K strip and (1) 1 ½” x 2 ½” Fabric J strip, lengthwise and in that order from top to bottom, to make (1) 2 ½” x 5 ½” Unit 26 strip (Fig. 36). Repeat to make (20) Unit 26 strips total.

23. Sew (1) Unit 24 square to each side of (1) Unit 26 strip to make (1) Unit 27 strip (Fig. 37). Repeat to make (8) Unit 27 strips total.

24. Repeat Step 23 and refer to Figures 38-40 for component identification, placement and orientation to make (8) Unit 28 strips, (2) Unit 29 strips and (2) unit 30 strips.

25. Follow Figure 41 and sew together (6) assorted units end to end to make (1) Outer Side Border. Repeat to make a second Outer Side Border.

26. Follow Figure 42 below and sew together (4) assorted units end to end to make the Outer Top Border. Repeat to make the Outer Bottom Border.

Quilt Top Assembly (Follow the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.)27. Sew the Inner Left Side Border and Inner Right Side Border to the left and to the right of the Center Block.Sew the Inner Top and Inner Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

28. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 56 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 38 ½” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

29. Sew (1) Outer Side Border to each side of the Center Block. Sew the Top Border and Bottom Border to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

30. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 72 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 50 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block.

31. Center (1) 9 ½” x 96” Fabric C strip on (1) side of the Center Block and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the block and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side.

34. Layer and quilt as desired.

35. Sew the (8) 2 ½” x WOF Fabric M strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press.

36. Bind as desired.

32. Repeat Step 31 to sew (1) 9 ½” x 72” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the block. To miter each corner, fold the Center Block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 43).

33. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 43), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the quilt top.
