2013 Ike Reed Easter Egg Hunt

Although the temperature was cooler than last year’s Egg Hunt the sun was shining

upon the many Easter egg hunters at Rambadt Park this year.

The kids were eagerly awaiting the signal to commence their hunt and gather the

bright colored eggs filled with goodies. Along with the candy there was 4 “Golden

Eggs” that were filled with even more treasures.

The 4 lucky hunters who found the “Golden Eggs” were Kinkaee Duburil, Easton

Erbes, Damon Baker and Jillian Decker.

When the signal was finally given, an observance of swarming egg hunters took to

the hill top to search and find their eggs. After the hunt, the Easter Bunny hopped

down the bunny trail and was greeted by all the children.

The eager hunters were also treated to punch and cookies after the hunt. It was

indeed another successful and enjoyable Easter Egg Hunt for 2013.

This long standing tradition provides a positive environment for the families and

children of the Reed City area. The event would not be possible without the many

volunteers from our Lodge and Chapter of the Reed City Moose. We had a great

turn out on Good Friday evening to stuff the eggs with goodies. We estimated

about 4,000 eggs were stuffed and boxed that night for the next day’s hunt.

We had a crew of hard workers Saturday morning at Rambadt Park to section off

the different areas for each age group and hide the numerous eggs. Other members

donated punch and cookies, candy and money to this year’s Easter Egg Hunt.

In an “egg” shell it takes many volunteers to make this annual community event a

success. An attempt was made to make a list of businesses, volunteers, etc. to say

Thank You!

If we have missed anyone please accept my sincere apologies.

Grass Mowing As spring and warm weather are fast approaching Grass Mowing Bids are needed for the East Side Lawn area (area between

the fence and the river). We are asking for volunteers to mow the South and West lawns of the Lodge, these lawns will only

need periodic mowing. The Administrator will contact an available volunteer for mowing the South and West Lawns. Any

questions please call the Lodge and leave a message for the Administrator. Mike Solis III

Flag Committee We are looking for a few good men to put out the flags during the holidays, Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4

th of July and

Labor Day. The group meets at the Lodge the morning of the holiday to put the flags out in the downtown area. Meet at

the Lodge again at the end of the day to take them down. If interested either leave a message at the Lodge or send an

Chicken B-bque Mark your calendar and plan to come down to the Lodge for a fantastic Chicken Dinner with proceeds going to the Scholarship Fund

and the General Fund.

It’s a perfect time to support your Lodge and the children of the Lodge.

We are counting on a sunny, warm spring day to kick off spring right by coming down for a picnic.

When: May 4, 2013

Time: 5:00 to 7:30pm

Cost $8.00

Costs include a grilled half chicken, cheesy potatoes, salad bar, garlic toast and dessert.

There will be a donation signup sheet at the bar shortly for anyone who would like to help offset the cost of

putting on the dinner. Your support in this way allows us to put more money back into the funds by keeping

our expenses low.

Hope to see everyone at the Lodge that day!!

Golf Outing May 11, 2013 There is now a signup sheet at the Lodge, stop in and sign up.

4 players per team and the cost is $50.00 per person. All players must be a member in good standing or have a

spouse/significant other who are a member of the Reed City Lodge.

There is also a list if you are interested in playing but don’t have a partner.

This is one of the biggest money makers and all around fun day.

You don’t have to golf to come down and enjoy the dinner; it will be a pig roast this year so there will be plenty for

everyone!

Reminder - Please watch your language! There have been concerns of excessive foul language when young children and families are in the social quarters. . Let’s

have fun and be mindful of our younger future members. Mike Solis III

St Pattys Day! Thank you so much to Rita & Ben Hinken, Betty Maples and Bert Gondick for making the Irish Stew. A big thank you to Rita and

Ben for donating all the ingredients to make the stew. The day wouldn’t be complete without it!!
