Term 4 has settled in and is rapidly progressing towards the assessment and
reporting weeks. Classes are busy going over work and completing units in
preparation for the assessment tasks that will be indicate in the reports on how
a student has achieved in 2015. Good luck to them all as I know they will give
their teachers every ounce of effort.
If parents of Year 5 students have a thought that they will be making applications
for Selective High School i.e those other than Willyama and Broken Hill High
(depending on zoning) then be aware that applications are needed NOW before
closing date of Monday 16/11/2015, even though the placements are not until
2017. No late applications are considered. All information log on to

MSPS FETE - THURSDAY ALL WELCOME
Now is the time to say thanks to P&C President Sam Maiden and her very busy
team of helpers as we enter FETE WEEK. Their pre-planning and attention to detail has been fantastic. I see the temperature, predicted a month ago for Thursday, as being 35 degrees has fallen into line and is now predicted at 27 degrees, unlike every other day this week which will be above 30. Not even mother nature mucks around with a Morgie Fete it would seem.
I did notice that in my letterbox there was a power outage notification planned for Fete day – hopefully works will finish well before our Fete begins at 5pm. Talking to the students they’re excited. Even many community members say they will be attending.
Everyone is Welcome
Again a huge thankyou to all stall keepers and donors of so many items and to those who have put in so much time and effort so Morgan Street children benefit.

1F have really been enjoying our science unit ‘Spot The Difference’
where they have done some experiments and observed how and why
things change such as spaghetti, chocolate and popcorn.
Unfortunately we couldn't eat the chocolate and popcorn and didn't
want to eat the spaghetti.
After our observations we used the cooked spaghetti to make a
collage and built towers out of the uncooked spaghetti and
marshmallows. This was really hard but fun. In this science unit we
have teams and we take turns at having special responsibilities.

Fete Raffle Tickets K-6 Returned by Thursday 22nd October
SAVE YOUR BREAD TAGS!
Hi all,
I'm wondering if any of you may be able to help
our class with a challenge.
We are collecting bread tags to send to a school in Karratha.
They have been looking at big numbers and set themselves a
challenge to collect 1 million bread tags. They're not sure if
they'll reach their target by the end of the year but we
thought we'd give them a hand to try!
If you have any bread tags (or anyone in your class would
like to bring in some bread tags) we will be collecting for the
next 2 weeks before we send them off.
Even if you only have 1 tag, you'll be helping reach the goal!
Thanks :)
