Draw some things that we might weigh. e.g a baby, fruit. We can also push things to find out how much mass they have. Heavy things are harder to push. Light things are easier to push. A fridge is hard to push, it has a lot of mass. A cardboard box is easy to push because it has a little bit of mass. Draw 1 thing that is hard to push and 1 thing that is easy to push. Label your pictures as heavy or light. 9:30am Daily Zoom Bring your favourite Teddy to our Class Zoom or to school (if you are allowed) WELLBEING WEDNESDAY! Today is ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’. What could be more important at this time than looking after YOU and making time for yourself. Today we ask you to put your electronics down after the class Zoom, step away from your school work and make time for yourself and prioritise doing things you love that you know are good for your mind and body. The Kindergarten teachers have chosen a variety of activities for you to consider. Students at school will also have a Wellbeing Day. It is digital detox time.

School Morning Session Suggestion (OR teacher and students pick from Grid at end of this document) - Have show and tell about

the favourite teddies - Write a thank you letter to someone - Make a thank you card to someone to say thank you - Read some favourite stories - Try star gazing/cloud gazing. Can you make any pictures or patterns with them? - Get outside. Go for a walk and try to look for different plants and animals. Could you make a note of which ones you see or draw a picture of some of them? - Have eating time outside as a teddy bears picnic with your favourite teddy.

School Middle Session Suggestion (OR teacher and students pick from Grid at end of this document) - Complete a mindfulness colouring in picture - Take part in some painting, drawing, craft or colouring activities. - play with some toys - play with puzzles - play on the playground equipment

Learning intention: We are learning to write an information report about an animal

Have a play around with changing the size and shape of the playdough and weigh it in your hands. Has the mass changed when you change the shape? Does it feel heavier or lighter, or does it feel the same? Learning Intention: To identify items objects where size and mass are not dependent on each other.

We can use our hands to compare masses. We call this hefting.

Learning Intention: To draw and explain a place that is special to me. Coloured Rice Ingredients

• 3 cups of White rice (1 cup per colour)

• 1 Tbs of Vinegar

• 10-15 drops of Food Colouring (pick yourself colour)

• 1 Ziplock bag

• Aluminium foil

• Tray

Instructions

1. Measure 1 Tbsp of vinegar into zip lock bag

2. Mix in food colouring into to the vinegar

3. Measure 1 cups of white rice and add into the zip lock bag

4. Close zip lock and shake, shake, shake to mix well.

5. If the colour is too dull, add additional food colouring until desired colour is achieved

6. Cover a tray with aluminium foil

7. Spread coloured rice into aluminium foil and allow for it to dry

8. Repeat process with other colour to create rainbow rice

9. Place in a tub/ large container to play with

Mug Cake Potato People Ingredients for 1 serving

• 4 tablespoons flour • 3 tablespoons sugar • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder • ½ teaspoon baking powder • 3 tablespoons milk • 1 tablespoon oil, vegetable or canola • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract • 1 tablespoon chocolate hazelnut spread, plus more for topping • powdered sugar, for topping, optional

Preparation

1. In 375 ml mug or larger, mix all ingredients (except the chocolate hazelnut spread) until just combined.

2. Once combined, spoon the chocolate hazelnut spread on top of the batter.

3. Microwave on high for 90 seconds to 2 minutes, watching to make sure it doesn’t spill over (depending on the size of the mug).

4. Let cool one minute before eating. Top with additional chocolate hazelnut spread and powdered sugar (optional).

5. Enjoy!
