Read the read on the
phonics sheet. Colour in the
words that are real with one
colour and colour in the
nonsense (fake) words in
another colour.
Complete 1 sheet today and
do the other sheet on
Wednesday.
Patterns-
Make a variety of patterns using 4 or more colours/shapes/objects
make your patterns as complicated as you can and as many patterns as
you can.
Send your patterns to your teachers email.
Read the Billy Goats Gruff story
together (attached in the home learning
section).
Work together as a family to order the
picture of the story on the story path
sheet.
In school, work together as a group to
order the pictures. Take a picture of
this for the children’s books.
Read and discuss the Three Billy Goats Gruff. What do goats
like to eat? What did they want to reach in the story? If
possible plant some grass seeds in different pots and place in
different parts of house/classroom. What will the seeds need
to grow? Place one in sun, one without etc.
** at the end of the week review your grass and look to see if
any has grown, discuss which one the goats would like to eat
and why? What are the best conditions for seeds to grow?

Tricky words phase 3
spelling test.
Cut out and read the tricky
words flashcards 1 at a time
and then cover them up,
write them down and check
if the spelling was correct.
Keep the flashcards for
Thursday.

And talk about their properties.
Complete the 2D and 3D shape worksheet and label each shape.
Complete the Wanted poster for the
troll from the story.
Describe his appearance and also what he
crime was.
Offer a reward for the troll’s capture!
Build your own bridge just like the one from the story using
lego, blocks, straws, toilet roll etc. Will a troll be hiding under
your bridge?
Test out your bridge to
see if it will hold the
weight of some of your
toys at home or in school
some farm animals.

Practise throwing and kicking a ball. Can you measure how far you
can throw a ball or kick?
How are you going to measure? How will you record your work?
You could use different objects and see if the distance changes.
Make a chart and record your answers.
Retell the story of the Three Billy Goats
Gruff. Write a sentence for the first 3
pictures on the story board.
Use the word mat and the sound mat to
help with writing the sentences.
You will finish this story board tomorrow.
Ask your child to read their sentences to
you.
The 3 Billy Goats gruff are 3 different sizes. Can you look
around the house/outside to find things bigger and smaller
than you? Make a ‘bigger’ and ‘smaller’ list.

flashcards from the other
day to help you.
In school, do it together as
a class and then send away
to colour in at desks once
completed on the IWB.
Who is the tallest in your family? Who is the shortest?
Draw a family photo and label tallest and shortest.
Measure each other using tape measure and record in your family
photo. (If you don’t have a tape measure at home you can use lay down
and use objects, e.g. mum is as tall as 12 bears).

Design your own troll on using the link and label using the
words. Try to sound these words out yourself using your
phonics. Think about the colours you might use and why? Will
your monster have big teeth?

to a tricky word and then

Practise formation of number – this could be finger paints,
glitter, chalk outside etc.
What is the biggest number you can form? Can you form your
numbers to 100?
Complete the under the sea phonics
picture activity.
Use the grapheme clues to help you
write the words to match the
pictures.
Make some story puppets and act out the story remembering
to use key vocabulary from the story. Use different voices for
different characters. What type of voice would the Troll
have? Would it be loud? Quiet? Why?
