ANNOUNCEMENTS SIGN LANGUAGE CHOIR: is now meeting at 4:00 on
Sunday afternoons and will let in time for sanctuary choir
practice. You do not have to be in the sanctuary choir to
participate!
DEACONS MEETING today at 5 in the fellowship hall.
WOMEN’S MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY Mondays at 6:30pm in the
fellowship hall, led by Karen Reese. A meal will be provided.
JOYFUL HARMONY KIDS CHOIR Wednesdays at 5:30pm, downstairs in
room 340b. Practice will let out in time for AWANA and is for K-5th
grade students.
WAR ROOM BIBLE STUDY, Thursday nights at 6:30 in the fellowship
hall—led by Paula Thompson.
CABBI CHAPEL DAY MONDAY OCTOBER 17, 9:00 am—12:00 pm in the
sanctuary: Doing Ministry, Life and Discipleship BETTER.
CHURCH FELLOWSHIP AT THE CARTER FARM 4-8pm, Saturday, Octo-ber
15. For those not wanting to drive, we will be taking the church
buses; time to be announced. In order to plan enough food, sign up
at the information desk and plan to bring a drink or dessert.
FALL FESTIVAL SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29. This annual event brings
100s of guests to our church! A sign-up sheet to man booths or use
your vehicle for the Trunk or Treat is on the bulleting board by
the information desk.
COMMITTEES SUGGESTION BOX: Help us keep up with maintenance and
cleaning of our buildings. If you see a repair or cleaning that
needs attention, there is now a comment box in the armoire that is
across from the water fountains. Thanks for your help!
MAINTENANCE LIST FOR VOLUNTEERS: If you can help with church

MATTHEW 5:43-48
I. SOMETHING BRAND NEW—VS. 43-44 A. “Love your neighbors; Hate
your enemies.”
1. This was the practice of the lost Jews, a nation lost in
traditions that had become doctrine.
2. Mark 7:7 B. No one had ever taught this! Jesus himself
stated
this is a new commandment! 1. John 13:34-35 2. “Sacrificial
Love”
II. WHY?—VS. 45
A. We are to be a reflection of God’s Love. B. Philippians
2:12-16
III. GROW UP!—VS. 46-48
A. Jesus is saying: “Don’t act like everyone else. 1. Immature
Spiritually—I Cor. 3:1-3 2. When a toddler does not get their
way!
B. Our Desire—Vs. 48 1. Our hearts ought to break! 2. Jonah is a
good example of what not to do! 3. 1 Peter 4:8-9
