The Mind of Christ: Humble Minded Philippians 2:1-8

INTRODUCTION Today we examine that hard assignment of humility. Most of us believe that being humble is the equivalent to weakness or having an unhealthy opinion of ourselves. The process of “becoming humble” is in essence becoming spiritual healthy. It changes everything.

I. Thinking about WHAT is important is Christ-like thinking. A. It is easy to get our goals ahead of God’s goals for

our life. B. When God is the most important one in our life,

ambition becomes redefined as how can I serve rather than how I can be served.

II. Thinking about HOW we are important is Christ-like thinking. A. Conceit is thinking more of ourselves than we should

think. B. When we realize we are important because God is in

us, we glorify God rather than ourselves. III. Thinking about WHO is important is Christ-like thinking.

A. Our society tells us we are important. B. Christ tells us others are important.

CONCLUSION May God give us Christ-like thinking which leads us to spiritual health and Christian humility. Next week’s Scriptures on “Unselfish- Minded” are” Philippians 2:3-4; Deuteronomy 8:2-3, II Chronicles 7:14, Romans 12:1-3, I Corinthians 13: 4-6. Read them together with someone in preparation for worship next Sunday. Joey Dixon Jane Fields Family Hubert Garner Joe Liles Tom Luck Lunette McCollough Lenora Seagroves
