Over the last year Councillors, Sally Loates and Kenneth Woolley from Gainsborough Town Council, joined with a Local business, J H Smithson and Sons Plumbers

to raise money for the St Barnabus Hospice. This Collaboration was a great success and a re-cord amount of money was raised at the Christmas Charity Ball. The event included a wonder-ful Singer and local disco, a comedian, two amazing pianists and a magician, all sponsored by local people and business. This allows us to keep ticket costs down, thus it's affordable for eve-ryone. People come to celebrate the lives of loved ones and share valuable time with family/ friends. We are delighted to report the date for this years Charity Christmas Ball will be the

29th of November at the Gainsborough Golf Club. The Mayor of Gainsborough, Keith Panter, will be extending a warm welcoming to guests on arrival. If you would like to be involved with sponsoring any aspect of this event in the future please contact Mayor Keith Panter.

PLOWRIGHT GARDEN CUP

This year Morton Feast have decided to resurrect the Plowright Garden Cup to be awarded to the best garden in Morton. This will be given to the best front garden over the season, not just planted up at the last minute to impress the judges! The Cup will be presented at the end of the morning’s festivities on the Saturday morning of the Morton Feast weekend. The cup was originally donated by the Ploywright family to be given as an annual award to encourage Morton people to have a lovely garden for everyone to share as they walk around the village.
