During the latter half of December, Mountain Crane Service completed several lifts at the One Oak Fractionator Expansion Project in Bushton, Kansas. There were three consecu- tive lifts over the course of three days. The first two modules weighed 121,000 lbs. each and were lifted at a 130 ft. radius. The third lift weighed 165,000 lbs. at a 160 ft. radius. Each of these lifts was executed safe- ly and efficiently. The fourth and heaviest lift came in at 450,000 lbs. at a 84 ft. radius. This was sig- nificantly less weight than the lift had been planned for and the crane was originally con- figured for, which led to some minor compli- cations. Fortunately, Mountain Crane’s talented team, led by Travis Horton, was able to work through the problem and complete the lift without any delay or difficulties. Each of these lifts utilized a Demag CC2800 Crawler Crane with Super-Lift attachment. We’d like to thank Barnhart Crane and Turner for their excellent team work on these heavy lifts.
