First of all we would like to apologize for the late answer of your request. This is due to changes of the method of working at the ITS and the very high in-box only now possible, unfortunately. We ask for your understanding. Based on the information that you provided we have checked the documentary material on hand here and send you attached for your grandfather our “Information from the ITS Archives” including the corresponding documents in copy.

Regrettably, we don´t have any information about the circumstances of the arrest of your grandfather. You should know, that the documents preserved and kept at the International Tracing Service are most voluminous, but incomplete. A huge part of the records and files went lost due to war turmoil or was destroyed towards the end of the war.

The death of your grandfather was certified by the Special Registry Office in Bad Arolsen under

the number NA-940/55. Should you wish a certified copy of the death certificate, please contact the following address:
