Mr. Frassetto 7th
Grade History Day Project
History Day Project
Directions: A 5 paragraph biography of any individual in the 7th or 8th grade
textbook. Also, a 36” X 48” tri-fold about an event, time period, or organization
the person was involved in or associated with will be due on the same due date.
The History Day Project will count as a grade for your social studies class. The
entire project will count as 30% of the 3rd marking period grade. Every school
day late will be -10%. I will accept it up until the end of the 3rd marking period for
half credit. If the History Day Project is incomplete, an “I” will be given for the 3rd
marking period. The due date is Friday, March 2nd. The 5-10 minute
presentations will begin March 5th and end March 9th.
Process: Time will be given to every student in computers class to research
the person chosen and to write the 5 paragraph biography. Tri-folds must be
completed on your own time or in art class or club. Students will be given some
time to correct and proof read their 5 paragraph biographies in English class.
During presentation week, students will present their tri-folds and biographies for
5-10 minutes in front of the class. Grades will be given in 3 ways: 5 paragraph
biographies, Tri-fold, and presentation. Each will be worth 100 points.

Title (centered)
Your introductory paragraph will begin here. Make sure it is indented and
left-aligned. Remember, if you use information from one of your sources, you
must include proper in-text citing. Use two spaces after every period. Ask an
English or Social Studies teacher to proof read it before you hand it in. You may
also ask a computers teacher for help with proper in-text citing, format, and
bibliography. Most likely, they will be able to help you improve your paper.
Remember that your thesis statement must be included at the end of this
paragraph. An example of a thesis statement would be: The unbalanced
wealth in Latin American countries caused the people to revolt. If this was your
thesis statement, the rest of your paper would have to be specifically focused on
proving this point.
Your second paragraph will start here. The margins for this example are
also proper. Look at the following pages for an example of a proper bibliography,
in-text citing, and credible sources. When you use a source, you must use in-text
citing after the sentence used with either the website or author’s last name and
page number (Smith, p. 19). Allow me to mention one more point; do not use the
word “I” in your paper.
