Sight Words- my (look, go, we, and, I, like, the, a, see, to, is) Writing- Our writing process: 1. Think of an idea 2. Kid Write 3. Draw about it 4. Adult writing. This is a list of things we have discussed in our writing. Sentences always start with a capital letter. Spaces are put between our words. The letter I is always capital when it’s alone. Periods are used when you are making a statement. Question marks are used when you are asking a question. Names of people are capitalized. Reading- This week we will be reading Stellaluna. Our focus will be visualizing and interpret through explanation, and story elements (character, setting, problem, solution). Math- This week we will start our unit on 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes. The students must be able to name each shape, name attributes for each shape, identify 2-d shapes on a 3-d figure, and be able to create 2-d shapes using a variety of materials and drawings. Science- We will observe and describe the location of an object in relation to another, such as above, below, behind, in front of, and beside. We will be focusing on bats this week. Social Studies-This week we will be learning about jobs in our community. Sort capital and lower case letters. Recognize and order numbers 0-20. Counting to 100 and counting backwards from 20. Practice weekly sight words. Please make sure that you are reading with your child for at least 15 minutes a night. Your child not only needs to read (if he/she is capable) but he/she needs to be able to hear books being read fluently and with intonation. Dates to Remember Things to Do at Home

Sounds of the Week-This week we will be focusing on
