• 192+ tonnes complex e-waste spared from landfills
– 16 containers
CASE EXAMPLE : BENELUX AFRO CENTRE, DRC (PHASI)
• Active since 2013• Network of 15 collectors has been
established for the collection of e-waste, in Kinshasa and Matadi
• 5 tonne e-waste collected; first shipment of complex fractions for end-processing at Umicore is pending final export approval
• Sensitisation campaigns (radio, TV) have been launched to raise awareness with the general public
• Strong working relationship and gov’t approval for activities in the sector of WEEE
