Verbs are actions.(swimming, fishing, running,

waving)

Verbs show a state of being.

(is, are, was, were)

Verbs help other verbs show tense.

Regular Verbs and Irregular Verbs

A regular verb only needs –ed to be past tense.

Ex: baked, cooked, chewed, talked

An irregular verb changes form to be past tense.

Ex: built, ran, ate, brought
