Hades and Persephone

Persephone was the first living being to visit the Underworld where Hades ruled over the souls of the dead.

Zeus and Demeter were the parents of Persephone. Demeter was the goddess

of the harvest, and Zeus was the King of the gods

who ruled from Mount Olympus.

Hades, god of the Underworld, fell in love with Persephone and wanted her as his bride.

daughter, but the gods would not help her

After a year, people began

to die of starvation as the

earth became barren and lifeless.
