It is interdisciplinary because it combines courses from the Lally School of Management, RPI’s Schools of Science and Engineering, and Albany Law School. Master of Science in Technology Commercialization & Entrepreneurship (TC&E) Get the Business Basics first: Learn the process of technology commercialization by: Working with inventors to understand the business implications of new technologies; Developing business model proposals and testing them out; Obtaining funding; Staffing and managing the enterprise; Understanding how to value and protect intellectual property; Developing project management skills. Go Beyond the Basics and Get the Big Picture: Consider major societal problems that technology can help as well as hurt, such as climate change, clean air, and energy independence. How do we deploy science and technology to create social value and solve global problems? Learn to think about public policy, the technology development process, venture creation and infrastructure, and technology transfer practices. Curriculum

The curriculum includesthree parts:A management core thatprovide the a grounding inbusiness basics, a Law Core toaddress legal issues ofintellectual property andcontracts, and a choice of threeelective tracks that allow you totake course across RPI schoolsand develop expertise in an areaof science/engineering, policy,or innovation management.
