MTN Presents A. Overview MTN Presents is an on-line training tool created for TCAR Marketing and Sales to download Michelin-Training.net courses into PowerPoint presentations. You will be able to quickly and effectively build high quality, professional training presentations with little effort. You can use a complete presentation that’s provided, edit a presentation to tailor it to your needs, or create a custom presentation by pulling different elements into a PowerPoint from various presentations. In addition, multiple PowerPoint Masters are available to provide flexibility based on the training needs of your dealers. B. MTN Presents

A. OverviewMTN Presents is an on-line training tool created for TCAR Marketing and Sales to download Michelin-Training.net courses into PowerPoint presentations. You will be able to quickly and effectively build high quality, professional training presentations with little effort. You can use a complete presentation that’s provided, edit a presentation to tailor it to your needs, or create a custom presentation by pulling different elements into a PowerPoint from various presentations. In addition, multiple PowerPoint Masters are available to provide flexibility based on the training needs of your dealers.

B. Create a File DirectoryPrior to downloading a PowerPoint create a file directory for Presents. For example, C:\data\powerpoint\MTN Presents

C. Download a PowerPoint File1. Click on the name of the folder from which you would like to select a

presentation to download. For example, click on the Michelin Presentations, and then click on Light Truck and SUV Tires.

2. A Download Status Page will come up to scan the document to be downloaded. Then a dialog box will appear asking if you want to open or save this file. Click the Save button to download the PowerPoint file for this presentation. Note: If you click ‘Open’ instead of ‘Save’ when downloading a file, the PowerPoint file will open inside of your Internet browser in slide show mode. You will not be able to edit or save the file in this mode.

3. Due to the size of most the presentations you will mostly likely have an Information Bar pop up box appear. These files are safe, so click OK. If this box doesn’t appear skip to step #7.

6. A dialog box will appear asking if you want to open or save this file.  Click the Save button to download the PowerPoint file for this presentation. As a reminder: If you click ‘Open’ instead of ‘Save’ when downloading a file, the PowerPoint file will open inside of your Internet browser in slide show mode. You will not be able to edit or save the file in this mode.

7. A Save As box will appear for you to choose the location where you want to save the file. Then click the Save button. It may take several minutes to complete the download. For some users, once you've clicked Save, another dialog box may appear, stating Download Complete. Select Open, Open Folder, or Close. We recommend selecting Close. When completed you can either select the Back arrow on your browser to download other presentations, or exit out of Internet Explorer.

8. Using My Computer (Windows Explorer), find the PowerPoint file you just downloaded and open it. When opening the PowerPoint file, always select Enable Macros. If you open it and Disable Macros is selected (the default), the presentation will not view properly.

D. Download a Slide MasterClick on the Download Master link of the master you would like to use and follow the instructions above for downloading a PowerPoint file.

E. Add a Slide Master and Edit PowerPoint Files

Add a Slide MasterOnce you have downloaded the PowerPoint presentation file and the slide master file, you can add the slide master to the desired PowerPoint presentation.

1. Using My Computer (Windows Explorer), find the location of the PowerPoint presentation and open the PowerPoint file. 2. When opening a PowerPoint file always select Enable Macros.3. To add the slide master to the presentation. Click on Format, then Slide Design from the top menu. A column will appear on the right-hand side. 4. Choose Design Templates. Find the slide master that you downloaded by choosing Browse (at the bottom of the screen). 5. Browse to find the location of the slide master that you downloaded from your hard drive. Highlight the master and choose Apply.

Edit a PowerPointYou may also edit the presentation by changing the order of slides, or adding, or deleting slides.

A simple way to do this is to switch to Slide Sorter View by either clicking on the Slide Sorter icon in the lower left-hand corner of the screen or from the menu by choosing View/Slide Sorter.

Change Order of Slides: To change the order of slides, you simply click on the slide you want to move and drag it to the desired location.

Add Slides: Place the cursor between the two slides where you want to insert a new

slide. From the menu, choose Insert/New Slide.Delete Slides: Click on a slide to select it and hit the Delete key. You can also delete multiple slides at once by holding both the Control and Shift keys while you select the slides (right click). Once all the slides are highlighted that you wish to remove, hit Delete key.Merge Multiple Presentations Together: For this example two presentations will be merged together. Open one of the two presentations you are merging together. From the top menu click on File, then Save As. Choose the location you would like to save the file, then rename it, and click Save. From the top menu click on Insert, then Slides from Files. Click Browse and locate the presentation you are inserting slides. After locating the presentation click Open, and then choose Enable Macros. There are two ways to inserts slides:

Insert All Slides from a Presentation: Click Insert All. Click Close when completed.Insert Only Selected Slide(s) from a Presentation: Click on the slide(s) that you wish to insert from the Select Slides display, and click Insert. Click Close when completed.Note: If you want to keep the backgrounds from your original PowerPoints (for example, keep Michelin ppt master for a Michelin presentation, and keep BFG ppt master for a BFG presentation): Always select Keep Source Formatting before you click Insert All, or Insert when inserting slides from files.

You will not be able to edit content on existing slides, other than in the header and footer. Be sure to save your custom presentation.

F. Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. What do I do if I clicked ‘Open’ instead of ‘Save’ when downloading a file?A. The PowerPoint file will open inside of your Internet browser in slide show mode. You will not be able to edit or save the file in this mode.

Q. What do I do if the file did not completely download?A. Start over with downloading the file. Your Internet connection may have been lost during the download.

Q. How long will it take to download the PowerPoint files?A. Download times will vary depending on your Internet speed, Internet traffic and your personal computer. The Powerpoint files which contain presentations will take several minutes to download. The slide master files should download much quicker.

Q. The PowerPoint file opens but all the pages contain a big red X on them. What is the problem?A. You need to first enable macros if prompted. Then, set your Macro security to Medium by choosing Tools/Options from the top menu. Choose the Security tab. Click the Macro Security button. Choose the Medium radio button. Click Ok and then click Ok again.

Q. The PowerPoint file opens but the pages are blank. What is the problem?A. Run the screen show to see the presentation. Run the screen show by either clicking on the screen show icon in the lower left hand corner of the screen or from the menu by choosing Slide Show/View Show. Browse through the entire slide show and then end the show.

Q. How do I navigate the PowerPoint presentation?A. In the slide show view, you can forward to the next screen by clicking near the bottom of the screen or click the icon in the lower left-hand column to navigate through the slide show. In addition, the presentations have been specially designed with a forward and back button at the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

Q. How do I edit the PowerPoint presentation?A. New slides may be added, slides may be deleted, and slides may be reordered. You cannot, however, change the information on the slides provided. Further instructions for editing PowerPoint presentations may be found under the Help menu in PowerPoint.

Q. How do I change the look and feel of a PowerPoint presentation?A. Masters are provided in Presentation Builder. These are templates that can be applied to your PowerPoint presentation. The look of the information on the slides themselves cannot be changed. Further instructions for editing PowerPoint presentations may be found under the Help menu in PowerPoint.
