1. About this Guide

This user guide serves as a handy reference while using the mundu messenger application on Android platform. The various features and functionalities of the application are explained in this guide with the help of appropriate screens and descriptions.

1.1. Intended Audience

This guide is intended for all Android platform phone users who have the mundu messenger application, and want to know about the features of the application. This guide is organized into logical sections that help you to familiarize with the application.

1.2. Conventions Used

Throughout this guide, we will refer to specific items of information in the following ways:

2. Getting Started

This section describes the essential functions that will enable you to get started and familiarize with the application.

2.1. Technical Requirements

• A phone on Android platform with advanced GPRS, Internet or data plan

• At least one instant messaging account (MSN, AIM, ICQ, Jabber, Yahoo or GTalk)

2.2. Installing mundu messenger

You can install mundu messenger by using a data cable, Bluetooth or over-the-air download method.

2.2.1. Using a Data Cable

In this method of installation, you need to download the mundu messenger installer on your computer and then copy it to your mobile phone using a data cable.

To install mundu messenger using data cable:

1. Open http://mundu.com/download-mundu-products#messenger and login with your mundu ID and password. In case, you do not have a mundu ID, you can register for the same by visiting www.mundu.com.

2. Download the mundu messenger installer for Android on your computer.

3. Plug the data cable in the USB port of your computer and the mobile phone.

4. Copy the installer from your computer to the mobile phone.

5. On your phone, open the installer file to start the installation process.

6. Confirm the installation of mundu messenger on the phone. The application is installed.

2.2.2. Using Bluetooth

In this method of installation, you need to download the mundu messenger installer on your computer and then copy it to your mobile phone using Bluetooth.

To install mundu messenger using Bluetooth:

1. Open http://mundu.com/download-mundu-products#messenger and login with your mundu ID and password. In case, you do not have a mundu ID, you can register for the same by visiting www.mundu.com.

2. Download the mundu messenger installer for Android on your computer.

3. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and PC. The Bluetooth icon is displayed on the Taskbar.

4. Right-click the Bluetooth icon and select Quick Connect File transfer. Then select your phone.

5. Connect your phone and PC (required when connecting through Bluetooth for the first time). You will be prompted to enter a matching pass code at both ends.

6. Enter the matching pass code at both ends.

7. After the connection is established, browse to the folder where you want to save the installer.

8. Copy the mundu installer to the selected folder.

Note

The procedure of copying the mundu messenger installer may vary depending upon the Bluetooth application used.

9. On your phone, invoke the installer by selecting the installer file.

10. Follow the installation steps on your phone.

2.2.3. Using Over-the-Air Download

In this method of installation, you need to download and install the mundu messenger installer directly on your Android phone through the Internet.

Note

Ensure that your mobile phone is connected to the Internet.

To install mundu messenger on your mobile phone using over-the-air:

Open http://mundu.com/mobile/imdownload.php from the phone browser and login with your mundu ID and password. In case, you do not have a mundu ID, you can register for the same by visiting www.mundu.com. Download the mundu messenger installer for Android. Once the file is downloaded on the phone, the installation process starts automatically.

2.3. Launching mundu messenger

To launch mundu messenger:

From the Home screen, navigate to the menu and tap mundu messenger. The Launch screen appears for a few seconds and the application validates your license and checks for upgrades.

On launching mundu messenger, the Accounts screen is displayed.

You can launch mundu messenger at any point of time when using your device or specify settings to launch the application when starting the device. For details on specifying settings to launch the application on device startup, click here.

3. Managing Accounts

This section describes the steps to add, edit, delete and login to accounts.

3.1. Adding an Account

In order to start using mundu messenger, you must add accounts for IM services. You can add multiple accounts for each IM service.

To add an account:

1. From the Accounts screen, press Menu. The menu bar is displayed at the bottom of the screen.

2. Tap Add Account. The Add Account screen is displayed.

3. Tap the Service drop-down list. A list of IM services is displayed.

4. Tap the IM service to which the account belongs.

Note

In case of Jabber / XMPP service, you need to enter the IP address of the server in the Server field.

5. Enter the username and password in the fields provided.

Note

For MSN account, ensure that you enter the full passport address in the Username field. For example, [email protected].

6. In the Local alias field, enter a nickname for the account if required. If this field is left blank, the username is displayed as the alias.

7. To login to the account immediately on starting the application, select the Connect on startup option.

8. To enable the application to remember your details the next time you login, select the Remember password option.

Note

If you select the Connect on startup option, the Remember Password option is selected automatically.

9. Tap Add. The account is added and the application starts connecting to it.

Note

In case there is no network available, the message Network Failure is displayed in the Accounts screen. By default, the application reconnects once the network is available. The status message changes from Network Failure to Available.

If you do not want to connect automatically, open the context menu for the account and select any one of the following options:

• Do not reconnect <account name> - Does not reconnect automatically to the selected account when the network connection is back. On selecting this option, the application does not reconnect and the status message for the account changes to Offline for the account.

• Do not reconnect all - Does not reconnect automatically to all the accounts when the network connection is back. On selecting this option, the application does not reconnect and the status message for all the accounts changes to Offline.

Once the account is successfully connected, the Buddies screen is displayed.

However, if you have not entered a password for the account, the account is added and the Accounts screen is displayed. When you try to login, the application prompts you to enter the password.

3.2. Editing an Account

To edit an account:

1. From the Accounts screen, open the context menu for the account to be edited. A list of options is displayed.

To open the context menu, tap and hold the item.

2. Tap Edit Account. A screen is displayed with account details.

3. Modify the account as required and tap Save. The Successfully edited account message appears for a few seconds and the modified account is displayed in the Accounts screen.

3.3. Deleting an Account

To delete an account:

1. From the Accounts screen, open the context menu for the account to be deleted. Ensure that you are not logged in to the account. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Remove Account. A confirmation message is displayed.

3. Tap Yes.

3.4. Logging In to Accounts

You are logged into accounts automatically when you add them. However, you can choose to login later by leaving the Password field blank. If you have selected the Connect on startup or Remember Password option, then you cannot leave the Password field blank.

To log in to accounts:

1. In the Accounts screen, select the account(s) to which you want to log in.

2. Tap Login. The Accounts screen displays the status while logging in. Once you are successfully logged in, the Buddies screen is displayed along with the presence status.

Note

You will be prompted to enter your password if you did not enter the password.

OR

You did not select the Remember password option in the Add Account screen while adding an account. Enter the password for the account and tap OK to login.

4. Managing Buddies

You can use the Buddies screen to exchange messages, manage buddies, manage status messages, customize preferences and view saved messages.

By default, the Buddies screen displays online and offline buddies sorted by the various groups to which they belong. You can modify the view at any point of time.

In addition, the Buddies screen provides options to switch between the Account and Chats screen. You can also change your presence status or add a custom status message from the Buddies screen.

4.1. Adding a Buddy

To add a buddy:

1. From the Buddies screen, press Menu and then tap Add Buddy. The Add Buddy screen is displayed.

2. Tap the Select Account drop-down list to select the account in which you want to add the buddy. The buddy must belong to the same IM service as the account to which you are adding the buddy.

3. In the ID field, enter the username of the buddy.

4. In the Alias field, enter a nickname for the buddy. The nickname is displayed in place of the username once the buddy is added to your list.

Note

The Alias field is optional. You may leave it blank if you do not wish to provide a nickname for the buddy.

5. Tap the Group drop-down list. A list of existing groups is displayed.

6. To add the buddy to an existing group, select the group from the list displayed.

OR

Tap <Add New> to create a new group. The Enter a new group name dialog is displayed. Enter the new group name and tap OK.

7. Tap Add. The buddy is added to the buddy list and the message Successfully added buddy is flashed on the screen.

Conversely, when a buddy adds you to the contacts list, a notification is received on your device as shown in the figure below.

To accept or deny the add request from a buddy:

1. Tap and drag the notification and then tap the pending addbuddy request

notification. Alternatively, you can tap the icon. The Add Request Received screen is displayed.

2. In the Alias field, enter a nickname for the contact, if required. By default, the username is displayed as the nickname.

3. From the Group drop-down list box, select the group to which you want to add the buddy.

4. To add the buddy to your buddy list, tap Add Buddy.

OR

To reject the request, tap Deny. A message specifying that you have denied your buddy’s add request is sent to the buddy.

OR

To accept or reject the request later, tap Cancel. The Buddies screen is displayed

with the icon. You can tap the icon at any point of time, accept or deny the request.

4.2. Editing Buddy Details

You can modify buddy details such as the alias and the group name.

To edit buddy details:

1. In the Buddies screen, open the context menu of the contact for which you want to modify the details. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Edit Buddy. The Edit Buddy screen is displayed.

3. Modify the required details.

4. Tap Save. The Successfully edited buddy message is flashed on the screen and the Buddies screen is displayed with the details modified.

4.3. Viewing Buddy Info

You can view details of a buddy such as account name, alias, presence status and so on.

To view buddy info:

1. In the Buddies screen, open the context menu for the buddy for which you want to view the details. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Buddy Info. The buddy details are displayed.

Tip

If the status message of the buddy is a phone number or a URL, you can tap the same to make a call or visit the Web site.

4.4. View Options

You can choose to view only online buddies in the Buddies screen. You can also view buddies by sorting them based on groups, accounts or IM services.

4.4.1. Viewing Online Buddies Only

By default, all the buddies (online and offline) are displayed in the buddy list. If required, you can choose to view only online buddies by hiding the offline buddies.

To hide the offline buddies:

1. From the Buddies screen, press Menu and tap View Options. A screen with various view options is displayed.

2. By default, online, offline and blocked buddies are displayed. To modify the default settings, tap Show All Buddies. The checkmark is removed and the Hide Offline Buddies and Hide Blocked Buddies options are enabled.

3. To view only online buddies, select the Hide Offline Buddies option.

4. To hide the blocked buddies, select the Hide Blocked Buddies option.

4.4.2. Viewing Buddies by Sorting

To sort buddies:

1. From the Buddies screen, press Menu and tap View Options. The View Options screen is displayed.

2. Tap View Settings. The Buddy List View Setting screen is displayed.

3. By default, the View by Group option is selected. To sort buddies by IM services, tap the View by IM service option.

4. To sort buddies by the user account to which you have logged in, tap the View by User account option.

5. Tap OK.

4.5. Blocking / Unblocking a Buddy

You can choose to stop receiving messages from a buddy by blocking the buddy.

To block a buddy:

1. In the Buddies screen, open the context menu for the buddy to be blocked. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Block Buddy. A confirmation prompt is displayed.

3. Tap Yes. The buddy is displayed with the icon. The blocked buddy always appears offline.

Note

You can also block a buddy from the chat window. In the chat window, press Menu and tap Block Buddy. A confirmation message is displayed. Tap Yes to block the buddy.

If required, you can unblock a blocked buddy to start sending / receiving messages from that buddy.

To unblock a buddy:

1. Open the context menu for the buddy to be unblocked.

2. Tap Unblock Buddy. The blocked icon is removed. You can now start chatting with the buddy.

4.6. Searching a Buddy

To search a buddy:

1. In the Buddies screen, enter the initial letters of the buddy name. The buddy matching the search criteria is displayed.

2. Perform the required action or press the Backspace key on your keypad to view the Buddies screen.

4.7. Deleting a Buddy

To delete a buddy:

1. Open the context menu for the buddy to be deleted. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Remove Buddy. A confirmation prompt is displayed.

5. Exchanging Messages

This section explains the steps to send and receive messages. In addition, it describes various options available such as sending emoticons, Quick Text messages, viewing offline and saved messages, and navigating between chat sessions.

5.1. Sending Messages

You can send messages to your buddies using the chat window.

To send a message:

1. Tap the buddy. The chat window is displayed.

2. Enter the required text in the text box and tap Send. The text is displayed in the chat window. A sample chat conversation is displayed in the figure below.

5.1.1. Sending Emoticons

To send an emoticon:

1. In the chat window, tap the icon. The Smileys pop-up is displayed.

2. Select the required smiley. The smiley symbol is displayed in the text box of the chat window.

3. Tap Send to send the smiley to your buddy.

5.1.2. Working with Quick Text

Quick Text messages are in-built phrases that are used frequently while chatting. You can use Quick Text to save time and effort spent in typing out frequently used phrases. You can also add Quick Text messages of your choice.

To send Quick Text messages:

1. From the chat window, press Menu and tap Quick Text. The Quick Text dialog box is displayed.

2. Select the Quick Text message that you want to insert. The Quick Text message appears in the text box of the chat window.

Note

The Quick Text messages are sorted automatically based on the usage. The most frequently used Quick Text message is displayed on the top of the list.

3. Tap Send.

To add Quick Text messages of your choice:

1. From the chat window, press Menu and tap Quick Text. The Quick Text dialog box is displayed.

2. Move to the bottom of the dialog box and tap Add QuickText. The Quick Text dialog box with an input text box is displayed.

3. Enter the required Quick Text message that you want to add to the list.

4. Tap Save. The Quick Text message is added to the list.

To edit Quick Text Messages:

1. From the chat window, press Menu and tap Quick Text. The Quick Text dialog box is displayed.

2. Open the context menu for the Quick Text message to be edited. The Quick Text dialog box is displayed with the selected message in the text box.

3. Edit the message as required and tap Save.

To delete Quick Text Messages:

1. From the chat window, press Menu and tap Quick Text. The Quick Text dialog box is displayed.

2. Open the context menu for the Quick Text message to be deleted. The Quick Text dialog box is displayed with the selected message in the text box.

3. Tap Delete.

5.1.3. Switching between Chat Sessions

When multiple chat sessions are in progress, you may need to navigate quickly from one chat window to another.

To switch between chat sessions:

1. Tap or fling the icon. A list of active chat sessions is displayed.

2. Tap the required chat session to view the chat conversation.

5.1.4. Ending a Chat Session

Tap the close icon on the top the chat window to end a chat session.

5.2. Receiving Messages

If you receive an instant message while working with mundu messenger, a notification New Message from <buddy name> is displayed on the top of the screen.

The message flashes for a few seconds. Then the icon is displayed. The icon disappears once you view the message received.

Note

The unread message icon is displayed on all screens, which includes the chat window, Buddies, Accounts and Home screen. If you close a chat window, the icon continues to be displayed on the other screens.

To view the received message:

1. Tap and drag the icon. The Notifications screen is displayed.

2. Tap the message. The chat window is displayed showing the message received.

Tip

Alternatively, you can also tap the Chats icon in the Contacts screen, to view the received message.

If you receive a single message, the Notifications screen displays the message received and the buddy name. However, if you receive multiple messages, then the screen displays the number of messages received.

3. Tap the notification to view the messages. The Active chats screen is displayed which shows the number of unread messages next to the buddy name.

Note

If messages are received from a single contact, tapping the message notification will open the chat window.

4. Tap the buddy to view the message(s) received.

Tip

If your buddy sends a phone number or a URL as an IM, you can tap the same to make a call or visit the Web site.

5.3. Viewing Offline Messages

On receiving an offline message, a notification New Message from <buddy name> is displayed on the top of the screen as soon as you login.

The message is flashed for a few seconds. Then the icon is displayed. The icon disappears once you view the message received.

To view the offline message:

1. Tap and drag the icon. The Notifications screen is displayed.

2. Tap the notification to view the messages. The chat window is displayed with the offline message.

If you receive a single message, the Notifications screen displays the message received and the buddy name. However, if you receive multiple messages, then the screen displays the number of messages received.

Tip

Alternatively, you can also tap or fling the Chats icon to view the received messages.

3. Tap to view the messages. The Active chats screen is displayed which shows the number of unread messages next to the buddy name.

4. Tap the buddy to view the message received.

5.4. Viewing Saved Messages

You can save and view chat logs at any point of time. You can manage chat logs manually or automatically.

To view saved messages with a particular buddy:

1. In the Buddies screen, tap the buddy for which you want to view the saved messages.

2. Press Menu and then tap History. The Archive screen is displayed and the chats are displayed date-wise.

3. Tap the date for which you want to view the saved messages. The chat conversation is displayed.

2. Tap the buddy name for which you want to view the messages. The Archive screen is displayed and the chats are displayed date-wise.

3. Tap the date for which you want to view the saved messages. The chat conversation is displayed.

Tip

If the saved conversation contains a phone number or a URL, you can tap the same to make a call or visit the Web site.

6. Advanced Options

This section describes the various preferences that you can customize, conferencing with buddies, setting presence status and sending files.

6.1. Customizing Preferences

You can set preferences to customize message archives, alert settings, show / hide recent chats and so on.

6.1.1. Customizing Alert Preferences

You can choose to enable or disable alerts. If you enable alerts, you can choose to receive alerts when:

• you receive an instant message (IM)

• you receive an invitation to join a conference

• you receive an incoming request

You can also select options to receive alerts in the required form, such as a sound alert when an instant message is received.

To customize alert preferences:

1. In the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap Settings. The Settings screen is displayed.

2. Tap Alerts. The Alerts screen is displayed and the Enable Alerts option is selected by default.

3. To enable alerts, tap the event for which you want alerts to appear. The corresponding alert screen for setting preferences is displayed. By default, the Sound and LED alert options are enabled.

4. Modify the settings to be alerted by sound, LED, vibration or all the three options.

5. Tap Ringtone to set a tone for the sound, by which you want to be alerted. On selecting the Ringtone option, the Select a ringtone screen is displayed. Select a tone from the list and tap OK.

6. Tap Vibrate to be notified by vibration. On selecting this option, the device vibrates on receiving a notification for which the alert is set.

Note

You can tap Restore to default if you want the preferences to be set to the original settings.

6.1.2. Customizing General Preferences

To customize general preferences:

1. In the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap Settings. The Settings screen is displayed.

2. Tap General. The General screen is displayed.

3. By default, the number of days to store chats is 30. You can modify this setting if required. Tap Log Chats. The Enter a value dialog box is displayed.

4. In the text box displayed, enter the number of days for which you want to store chats and tap OK. If you enter 0, then chats are not saved at all. The maximum value that you can enter is 999.

5. Tap Clear all archive to delete all the saved chats.

6. To store debug logs to a file, tap the Enable Debug Logging option.

7. To automatically launch mundu messenger on switching on the device, select the Autostart option.

Note

You can tap Restore to default if you want the preferences to be set to the original settings.

6.1.3. Customizing IM Preferences

To customize IM preferences:

1. In the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap Settings. The Settings screen is displayed.

2. Tap IM. The IM screen is displayed.

3. Tap Show Typing Chats to send typing notifications during chats. This option is not selected by default.

4. To view ‘n’ number of recent conversations, tap Show Recent Chats. The Enter a value dialog box is displayed.

5. In the text box displayed, enter the number of recent chat conversations that you want to view and tap OK.

Note

You can tap Restore to default if you want the preferences to be set to the original settings.

6.2. Setting / Modifying the Presence Status

By default, your presence status is set as Available. You can change your presence status to in-built status messages, such as Busy, Invisible and so on. In addition, you can also set a custom message of your choice. The presence status and the custom message are set for all the logged in accounts.

To set a presence status for all accounts:

1. In the Buddies screen, tap the Available button. The Set Presence Status dialog box is displayed.

2. Tap the presence status of your choice.

3. In addition to setting a presence status, you can also specify a custom message of your choice. For example, you can set your presence status as Busy and specify a custom message In a meeting, which would indicate that you are in a meeting. In the Set custom status message field, enter a message as shown below.

4. Tap OK. The presence status is reflected in the Buddies screen.

To set a presence status for individual accounts:

1. In the Accounts screen, open the context menu for the account for which you want to set status. The Set Presence Status dialog box is displayed.

2. Tap the presence status of your choice.

3. In addition to setting a presence status, you can also specify a custom message of your choice. For example, you can set your presence status as Busy and specify a custom message In a meeting, which would indicate that you are busy in a meeting. In the Set custom status message field, enter a message.

4. Tap OK. The presence status is displayed.

6.3. Conferencing

You can communicate with two or more buddies belonging to same IM service by initiating a conference. You can also join a conference if you receive an invitation from the buddy initiating the conference.

While conferencing with your buddies, you can send/receive emoticons and send files.

Note

Except Jabber / GTalk, all other services support IM conferencing.

6.3.1. Initiating a Conference

To initiate a conference:

1. In the Buddies screen, open the context menu for the buddy you want to invite. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Conference. The Choose an account screen is displayed.

3. Select the required account. The Invite buddies for conference screen is displayed with a checkmark next to the selected buddy.

Alternatively, you can press Menu and tap Conference from the Buddies screen. The Choose an account dialog box is displayed. Tap the account from which you want to add buddies.

Note

The buddies displayed on the Invite screen belong to the same account as the selected buddy. To invite buddies from different accounts, you would need to start a new conference session.

4. Select the buddies to be invited for the conference and tap Done. The Conference screen is displayed. The buddies receive a notification to join or decline the conference. An appropriate message is displayed on the Conference screen depending on whether the buddies have accepted or rejected the invitation.

5. To start chatting, enter the required text and tap Send.

Note

You can initiate multiple conference sessions at the same time and invite buddies from all IM services. However, you cannot receive an invite for MSN service.

6.3.2. Accepting / Declining a Request

When a buddy sends you a request to join a conference, a notification is displayed on the top of the active screen.

To accept or decline a request:

1. Tap and drag to view the notification message.

2. Tap the notification. A screen is displayed prompting you to accept or decline the conference request.

3. To accept the request and join the conference, tap Accept. The conference screen is displayed. You can enter the required text and start chatting.

4. To decline the request to join the conference, tap Deny.

6.3.3. Adding Buddies to Existing Conference

After initiating or joining a conference, you can choose to add more buddies to the conference.

To add buddies to an existing conference:

1. From the conference screen, press Menu and tap Invite. The Invite people for conference screen is displayed with a list of online buddies that are not added to the existing conference.

2. Select the buddies that you want to add to the conference.

3. Tap OK. The buddies are added to the existing conference.

6.3.4. Additional Options

To send a smiley:

1. Tap the icon. The Smileys pop-up is displayed.

2. Select the required smiley. The smiley symbol is displayed in the text box of the conference screen.

3. Tap Send to send the smiley to your buddy.

To toggle between multiple conference sessions:

1. Tap or fling the icon. A list of active chat and conference sessions are displayed.

2. Tap the required conference session to view the Conference screen.

To send a file to all the participants in the conference:

1. From the Conference screen, press Menu and tap Send File. The Send File dialog box is displayed.

2. Navigate to the required folder.

3. Tap the file to be sent. The file transfer process is initiated.

Once the file is sent successfully, an appropriate message is displayed on the chat window. An URL is displayed on the buddy’s Conference screen. The buddy can go to the URL to download the file.

To end the conference session:

Tap the Close icon on the top of the Conference screen.

6.4. Sending Files

1. From the chat window, press Menu and tap Send File. The Send File dialog box is displayed.

2. Navigate to the required folder.

3. Tap the file to be sent. The file transfer process is initiated.

Once the file is sent successfully, an appropriate message is displayed on the chat window. An URL is displayed on the buddy’s chat window. The buddy can go to the URL and download the file.

7. Miscellaneous

This section helps you to know details regarding the mundu messenger version that you are using, working with upgrades, exiting and uninstalling the application.

7.1. About mundu messenger

To view the About mundu messenger screen:

In the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap About. The About mundu messenger screen is displayed. This screen displays the product information, such as product logo, the product version, the build identifier, and the copyright information.

7.2. Licensing

Licensing is used to verify the validity of mundu messenger when the application is launched. mundu messenger provides you with two types of licenses: Trial and Regular.

A trial license is free for a limited period only and is activated automatically when you run mundu messenger for the first time.

You can also purchase a Regular license and activate it in order to start using the application. After activating mundu messenger with the Regular license, you can use the product forever.

You can view license information, such as activation date, expiry date, and so on at any time of application usage by pressing Menu and tapping License Information from the Accounts screen.

7.2.1. Viewing Trial License Information

The Trial License screen displays specific information, such as license type, distribution key, date of activation and date of expiry.

7.2.2. Activating the License

On launching mundu messenger, the application validates the license. If the license has expired, the application prompts you to activate the license. You must activate the license to continue using the application.

To activate the license:

1. In the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap License Information.

2. Select Activate. The Activation screen is displayed.

3. Enter the activation number in the text box provided. In case, you do not have the activation key tap Buy to purchase the product with a regular license.

4. Tap Activate. The license will be activated to a regular license. You can now use the product for lifetime.

On successful activation, you will be logged off from accounts, if any. You can view the Regular License screen by selecting License Information from the Menu in the Accounts screen.

7.2.3. Viewing Regular License Information

On purchasing the license for mundu messenger, you can activate the application. On successful activation, the product is registered for Regular License, which has unlimited validity.

In a Regular License, the Valid till field displays Forever when the Regular License is activated.

Note

It is advisable to note down your distribution key for further reference.

7.2.4. Migrating the License

mundu messenger cannot be activated with the same license on more than one device at a time. If you change your device, you can use the same license on another device by migrating the license.

To migrate the license:

1. In the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap License Information.

2. Press Menu and tap the migrate icon. A confirmation message is displayed.

Note

The migrate icon is enabled only when the license type is Regular.

3. Tap Yes to continue. The application starts the migration process and displays a confirmation message box on successful migration.

7.3. Working with Upgrades

mundu messenger checks for version upgrades periodically and prompts you if an upgrade is available.

7.3.1. Checking for Upgrades manually

To check for upgrades:

From the Accounts screen, press Menu and tap Upgrade. The application checks for any upgrades available including the upgrade which user may or may not have cancelled. If you are using the latest version, the No upgrade available is displayed.

If an upgrade is available then the same is shown on the appropriate upgrade screen.

7.3.2. Forced Upgrade

This is a compulsory upgrade, which means you need to upgrade mundu messenger to continue using it. You will not be able to use the application till you install the mandatory upgrade. If an upgrade is available, the application displays an Upgrade screen informing you that the application on your device is not up to date.

Tap Install Upgrade to install the latest version of the application.

OR

Tap Cancel to quit the application.

7.3.3. Unforced Upgrade

This is not a compulsory upgrade and can be skipped. You can continue with the same version of mundu messenger. You can upgrade immediately or cancel the upgrade.

Tap Install Upgrade to install the latest version of the application.

Tap Cancel if you do not wish to install the upgrade.

7.4. Logging Out

To logout of individual accounts:

1. In the Accounts screen, open the context menu for the account from which you want to logout. A list of options is displayed.

2. Tap Logout.
