Muscles of the orbit

• extrinsic muscles of eyeball (extra-ocular muscles) involved in movements of the eyeball or raising upper eyelids. The extrinsic muscles include

• the levator palpebrae superioris,

• superior rectus, inferior rectus, medial rectus, lateral rectus,

• superior oblique, and inferior oblique

•Layers of the eye ball:

•1 -fibrous layer: cornea& sclera

•2 -vascular layer: iris& ciliary body& choroid

•3 -nervous layer: retina
