MY DIGITAL FOOTPRINT

GOOGLING MYSELF

• I went on to www.google.com and I searched up Brandon Henricksen what did I find?

• The first thing I found was a google image of the salt lake hockey team.

• The only links they had towards me was my youtube account.

QUICK INFO

• When I went on my youtube account, I found out that three thousand people have visited my youtube account, but I only have 3 subscribers. Creepy right?

HOW MAY MY DIGITAL FOOTPRINT AFFECT FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES?

• Based on my research towards myself I believe that I will have a good chance on getting a future job with computers. I also believe that since I already found my youtube channel on google, I may have a good chance to expand on youtube and maybe develope a career.

DID YOU KNOW?

• Did you know that the most successful youtuber also known as “PewDiePie” makes 12 million dollars a year!

• Being a youtuber can become quite a successful career!

3 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR FOOTPRINT APPROPRIATE AND SAFE #1

• One way to keep a safe footprint is to not post so many pictures. I have seen lots of people who post so many “Selfies” that their boss will not approve of, or the quantity he or she may not like.

• So one way to keep safe is to not post so much. Keep it at a medium!

2ND STRATEGY

• Keep your profile on the most strict settings.

• I know most people don’t do this and they end up with a bunch of stalkers on their profile

• Once you join a social media app, always check your settings.

• You always want to make sure only people you trust will be able to see what you post.

3RD STRATEGY

• Watch what you are doing

• For example lets say you went to a party with your friends. And it’s only people you know well there, that is pretty safe but!

• If your just partying and then you accidently post something or you don’t notice that someone took a picture it could end up online and it will ruin your digital footprint you have been keeping.

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED?

• I have learned that you always need to check your setting to make sure they are the most private settings that you can get. So easy mistakes can be avoided.

• I think people should be more aware of the situation and how you may not even know but, your everywhere on the internet.

HOW CAN I SPREAD AWARENESS TO STUDENTS?

I think I can spread awareness to students by showing them how much of their lives are on the internet.

For some it could be just having a google+ account for others it could be there face everywhere in google images.

People need to be aware of this. Because then maybe we could all have the best digital footprints, and not have to worry about being fired for some stupid picture with your friends.
