NADIA STOJANDIRECTOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Nadia is a Registered Landscape Architect with over 9 years experience in the private landscape architectural firms. Her professional experience includes landscape design, recreational landscape architecture, urban design, community consultation and landscape masterplanning.

Nadia is passionate about the urban environment and sustainable landscape practices. She is interested on how landscapes evolve and how we can contribute to the sustention of a healty system. With a keen interest in environmental sustainable design practices and graphical representation Nadia has worked on and has been exposed to a broad range of projects at varying scales while on private consultancies.

Nadia has a very adaptable outlook and brings a sense of enthusiasm, creativity and optimism to all her work.

WANTIRNA DUAL OCCUPANCY RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT464 BORONIA ROAD, WANTIRNA SOUTH

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan to form part of the planning application for a dual occupancy residential development in the City of Knox.

The proposed landscape is simple with interesting entry and planting feature to the front unit and screening landscaping along the driveway.

The proposal maximises the private open spaces with large areas of decking and lawn with accent planting along the building and fences.

Scattered canopy trees are placed in garden beds to provide shade and amenity to the gardens.

The concept design is simple with highlight entry feature and accent planting. Screening plants along the driveway provides a strong visual green corridor.

DONCASTER MULTI-UNITRESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT9 PERSIMMON COURT, DONCASTER

CLIENT: BALBIR SINGHJUNE 2011

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan to form part of the planning application for a double storey multi-unit development in the City of Manningham.

The existing site include a mix of significant vegetation including large canopy trees. The proposed design maximised the retention of those significant trees within the private and shared open spaces of the development and enhanced the area with a mixture of native shrubs and grasses.

The proposed landscape concept uses porous concrete pavers within the common driveway and rain gardens to capture runoff water from adjacent surfaces at strategic locations to capture and clean the most amount of water possible.

The design focused on Water Sensitive Urban Design principles and maximum retention of existing vegetation.

EDITHVALE MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT307 NEPEAN HIGHWAY, EDITHVALE

CLIENT: D. R. CONSTRUCTION GROUP PTY. LTD.FEBRUARY 2015

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan to form part of the planning application for a double storey multi-unit development in the Kingston City Council.

The site is situated in a high developed area, is narrow and contains a significant number of canopy trees within and around the site. Tree removal and protection measures and techniques were used in the site to satisfy council requirements.

The chalenging narrow site was designed with a mix of narrow garden beds and raised planter boxes with small shrubs, creeping plants, canopy trees, gravel pavement and stepping stones.

The planting scheme is sensitive to the coastal environment providing a better structure and complement the proposed development.

The proposed design provides a more structured landscape which will complement the coastal environment it is situated in.

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan to form part of the planning application for a five storey multi-unit development in the City of Manningham.

The development is situated in a very steep site and under a Design Development Overlay which state any proposed development should take into consideration the landscape charecter of the area in particular to the impact the development will have on the streetscape.

The design focused on native canopy vegetation with a mixture of ornamental shrubs, grasses and opportunities to add vegetation to the storeys above through hanging gardens in planter boxes and vertical garden through trellis system.

The planting scheme is sensitive to the existing character of Foote Street providing a better green coverage, screening to neighbouring sites and complement the proposed architecture.

The proposed design provides a mix of hanging gardens, vertical green walls and bands of colourful grasses under native canopy trees along the street.

CROYDON MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT384 MT. DANDENONG ROAD, CROYDON

CLIENT: JOHN MORTONFEBRUARY 2013

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan to form part of the planning application for a double storey multi-unit development in the Maroondah City Council.

The development is situated in a court with exposure to Mt. Dandenong Road to the north. The site is populated mix of vegetation including significant canopy trees indicated to be protected and retained.

Due to its significance, the trees identified are protected and its root system are under garden bed areas, lawn or permeable pavement which will ensure the long term provision of water and air for its survival.

The planting palette are a mix of small ornamental shrubs and grasses in mulched and irrigated garden beds.

The landscape design ensures the protection of significant existing trees through permeable pavement and provides additional canopy structure to the area.

MOORABBIN JUNCTION URBAN DESIGNDESIGN COMPETITIONCITY OF KINGSTON, MOORABBIN

CLIENT: CITY OF KINGSTONSEPTEMBER 2014

The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and the City of Kingston jointly held a design competition to develop creative ideas on what Moorabbin Junction will look like in 100 years.

Our design principles included some of the following:

- Proposed community shopping bus;- Poposed extension of the library to the rooftop;- Proposed Civic Park built over 2 levels of underground car parking with grassed area and canopy trees;- Proposed extention of the existing supermarket with levels above comprising retail, restaurants and rooftop bars,- Proposed high quality built forms comprising mixed use development.- Proposed community street art display on blank walls of laneways.

The urban design brief was to design a new pedestrian friendly retail street in the heart of Moorabbin.

COOMBE COTTAGE MELBA ESTATE WINERYCOLDSTREAM, VICTORIA

CLIENT: COOMBE - THE MELBA ESTATENOVEMBER 2012

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan the new cellar door main entry to the winery estate of Dame Nelly Melba including the new carparking area.

The estate is situated in Coldstream, Victoria and due to its heritage value, the landscape design and planting pallete was sensitive to the building and surrounding oranamental gardenns.

The carpark landscape design has meandering paths with a mix of extic and native canopy trees providing shade and softenss to the area. the meandering path leads to the cellar door entry forecourt where a feature tree is centrally planted framed by sculptured earth grassed mounds.

The landscape design is both sensitive to the heritage values of the estate and the surrounding natural environment.

MERINO ENTRANCE PETROL STATIONCOCKBURN CENTRAL, WA

CLIENT: PURSUIT ENTERPRISESDECEMBER 2012

The client approached Nadika Design to prepapre a landscape plan to accompany the planning permit for a new petrol station and car wash at a prominent corner.

The landscpape design satified all planning conditions and was responsive to the retail character of the develpment by ensuring visual access to signage and buildings.

The planting pallete was sensitive to the coastal environment with a mixture of low shrubs in organic patterns and scattered canopy trees.

Organic patterns were created in the ground plane with small native shrubs with scattered canopy trees.

The design allows visual permeability to the prominant retail corner as well as provides a soft coastal landscape feel.
