REPORT FOR INDIA FOR THE MONTH OF
MARCH 2017

This report is based on the information received from
various State and Central drug law enforcement agencies
till the end of March 2017. Significant seizures effected
earlier but reported during March 2017 are also
incorporated in this report.

SEIZURES EFFECTED IN THE MONTH OF MARCH, 2017
On 01.03.2017, Officers of Customs Preventive Unit (Narcotic Cell), Guwahati Seized 2700 Nos. Bottles (100 ml each) of codeine phosphate based cough syrup at SAFEXPRESS, Logistic Park, NH-31, Near FCI Godown Opp. Army Camp, Changsari North Guwahati, Assam.
On 02.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 1.140 kg of Opium at Nadia district of West Bengal.
On 02.03.2017, officers of NCB, Madurai Sub Zone seized 8.930 kg of Amphetamine from the possession of 01 person at Thirunelveli, Tamil Nadu while he was on way to Malaysia via Colombo. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Malaysia.
On 02.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit in coordination with SSB & CID seized 15.100 kg of Ayurvedic Medicines containing Opium {1)Dama Dama Churn 72 box of 100 gms each =7.2 kgs, 2) Piranharan churn 58 box of 100 gms each =5.8 kgs, 3) Sringadi churn 23 box of 50gms each= 1.150 kgs 4) Hingwastak churn 19 box of 50 gms each=0.950 kg} from the Sai Raj Herbal Ayurvedic Pharmacy, New Market, Panitanki, Dist-Darjeeling,West Bengal.
On 03.03.2017, Officers of Customs Preventive Unit (Narcotic Cell), Guwahati, in coordination with RPF intercepted SLR No. NR97703 F/C attached with Train No. 1420 Up at Guwahati Railway Station and Seized 9000 Nos. of Bottles (100 ml each) of Phensedyl (Codeine based cough syrup).
On 04.03.2017, officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit seized 1080 bottles Phencyrex cough syrup from Khanapara area, Guwahati . 01 person Indian national namely Manowar Huchan was arrested.
On 05.03.2017, NCB, Hyderabad Sub Zone seized 22.106 kg of Alprazolam at Rajendra Nagar Road, Hyderabad. 03 persons were arrested.
On 05.03.2017, Officers of DRI, Patna, Intercepted Train between Hajipur Jn. & Chhapra Jn. and seized 45.5 Kg of Ganja, concealed in two trolley bags. 03 persons were arrested.
On 06.03.2017, officers of NCB, Chandigarh Zonal Unit seized 2.520 kg of Opium. 01 person was arrested.
On 06.03.2017, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit in coordination with SSB seized 6.000 kg of Hashish at Murtiakotwali, Bahraich. 01 Nepalese national was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Nepal.
On 06.03.2017 officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit in coordination with SSB seized 850 gram (470 gram semi liquid and 380 gram of black coloured sticky substance) believed to be Opium at VPO-Tengnamari, P.S-Ghoksadanga, Coochbehar, West Bengal. 02 persons were arrested.
On 07.03.2017 officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 500 gram of Heroin at Ghutiari Sharif Railway Station, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. 01 person was arrested.
On 07.03.2017, NCB, Mumbai Zonal unit seized 281 bottles of Corex codeine based cough syrup and 100 gram of Mephedrone at Mumbai Central. 01 person was arrested.
On 07.03.2017, NCB, Ranchi Sub Zone seized 2.950 kg of Opium from Ramgarh, Jharkhand. 01 person was arrested.
On 08.03.2017, NCB, Patna Zonal Unit Seized 176.100 kg of Ganja at Hajipur, Bihar. 02 persons were arrested.
On 09.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 284.100 kg of Ganja at Kalapani Madhupur, P.S- Kotwali, Coochbehar, West Bengal. 01 person was arrested.
On 09.03.2016, Officers of CBN, Bareilly (UP), intercepted a LMV Car at Lucknow Delhi Highway Bridge near Vill.-Bhooda, and seized 38.250 kg of Charas. 02 persons were arrested. Suspected Source of the Seized Drug was Nepal.
On 10.03.2017, officers of NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone in coordination with BSF, Jalalabad, Punjab seized 04.313 kg of Heroin. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.
On 11.03.2017, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 2.800 kg of Cocaine at Mohini Palace Hotel, Dev Nagar, Karol Bagh, New Delhi. 01 Bolivian national was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Brazil.
On 13.03.2017, officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit seized 3.030 kg of Morphine at Railway Station, Guwahati. 02 persons were arrested.
On 13.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jodhpur Zonal Unit seized 149.100 kg of Ganja. 02 persons were arrested.
On 14.03.2017, officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit along with State Administration and Local Police destroyed illicit cultivation of Opium Poppy spread over 25 acres of land in villages Kanu and Choungshaw under Wokha Circle, District Longding of Arunachal Pradesh.
On 16.03.2017, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit intercepted a parcel at M/s DHL Express Pvt., 73/3, Rama Road Ltd, Kirti Nagar, New Delhi and seized 360 gram of Methaqualone. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Australia.
On 16.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jodhpur Zonal Unit in coordination with BSF seized 5.900 kg of Opium Milk at 25AS Bridge, Tehsil Gharsana, District Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. 01 person was arrested.
On 16.03.2017, officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit conducted destruction operation at PS Barachattti, Distt. Gaya, Bihar and destroyed 10 acres of illicit cultivation of Opium Poppy.
On 16.03.2017, officers of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit along with State Administration and Local Police destroyed illicit cultivation of Opium Poppy spread over 20 acres of land in Pumao village under Pumao Circle, Distt.- Longding, Arunachal Pradesh.
On 16.03.2017, Officer of DRI Bihar, Intercepted a Truck at Purnea, Bihar and seized 394.925 kg of Ganja. 02 persons were arrested.
On 17.03.2017, officers of NCB, Chandigarh Zonal Unit seized 2.734 kg of Opium at Kaithal Bus Stand, Haryana. 01 person was arrested.
On 17.03.2017, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit intercepted a parcel at M/s DHL Express Pvt., 73/3, Rama Road Ltd, Kirti Nagar, New Delhi and seized 650 gram of Opium. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Canada.
On 17.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jammu Zonal Unit seized 3.928 kg of Hashish. 02 persons were arrested.
On 17.03.2017, officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit seized 4.350 kg of Opium at Barachatti, Gaya.
On 17.03.2017, officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit destroyed illicit cultivation of Opium Poppy spread over 15 acres of land in PS Barachatti, Gaya.
On 18.03.2017, officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit seized 1.100 kg of Opium at Bhalluachatti, Gaya. 01 person was arrested.
On 20.03.2017, officers of NCB, Ranchi Sub Zone seized 7.000 kg of Opium near Mahindra Service Centre, Byangdih, Namkum, Ranchi. 03 persons were arrested.
On 20.03.2017, officers of NCB, Mumbai Zonal Unit seized 5.000 kg of Hashish at Ghatkopar, Mumbai. 02 persons were arrested.
On 21.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 3000 bottles of Phensedyl Cough Syrup at VIP car parking area in-front of Sealdah Railway Station, Kolkata, West Bengal.
On 21.03.2017, Officers of CBN, Gwalior, seized 27 Gram of Opium and Rs.1,80,000/- Currency as sale proceed of illicit opium. 01 person was arrested.
On 21.03.2017, Officers of DRI, Gorakhpur (UP), intercepted a Truck and seized 100 kg of Ganja. 02 persons were arrested.
On 22.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit in coordination with BSF, BOP DMC Lalgola, 4th Bn BSF, B Coy, Murshirdabad, Dist- Murshirdabad, West Bengal seized 1.350 kg of Heroin.
On 23.03.2017, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized 700 gram of Heroin along with Indian Currency of Rs. 1,25,000/-. 03 persons were arrested.
On 23.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 9400 bottles of Phensedyl Cough Syrup at Kalghat, Bongaon, West Bengal. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Bangladesh.
On 23.03.2017, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 28.000 kg of Hashish at Jewar Toll Gate, Yamuna Express Way. 02 persons were arrested.
On 25.03.2017, officers of NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone in coordination with BSF, Ferozpur, Punjab seized 980 gram of Heroin. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.
On 25.03.2017, officers of NCB, Ajmer Sub Zone intercepted a vehicle at Kalimata Mandir Suratgarh Road, Bikaner and seized 31.710 kg of Opium. 03 persons were arrested.
On 25.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 42.000 kg of Ganja at Miabazar, Mednipur, West Bengal. 01 person was arrested.
On 25.03.2017, Officers of DRI, Andhra Pradesh, intercepted a Tipper Lorry at Sheelanagar Visakhapatnam and seized 1161 kg of Ganja. 01 person was arrested.
On 26.03.2017, officers of NCB, Mumbai Zonal Unit seized 285 gram of Mephedrone at Dongri, Mumbai. 02 persons were arrested.
On 26.03.2017, officers of NCB, Mumbai Zonal Unit seized 4.900 kg of Methaqualone at CSI Airport, Mumbai. 01 South African national was arrested.
On 26.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jammu Zonal Unit seized 560 bottles of Codorex Cough Syrip at Lakhanpur. 01 person was arrested.
On 27.03.2017, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized 04.000 kg of Hashish at PS- Rupaidiha, Distt- Bahraich . 01 Nepalese national was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Nepal.
On 27.03.2017, officers of NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone in coordination with BSF, Ferozpur, Punjab seized 857gram of Heroin. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.
On 27.03.2017, officers of NCB, Ahmedabad Zonal Unit seized 6.723 kg of Opium Balls (27,000 tablets of Kamini) and 480 Capsules of Spasmoproxyvon along with Indian Currency of Rs.18,99,500/- at Bharuch. 03 persons were arrested.
On 27.03.2017, officers of NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit seized 430 gram of Ganja, 48 gram of Hashish Oil, 0.04 gram of LSD blot papers and 03 gram of Methamphetamine. 01 Nigerian and 01 Maldives nationals were arrested.
On 28.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jammu Zonal Unit seized 8.400 kg of Hashish at Panjal, Near Jhajjar Kotli, Jammu. 03 persons were arrested.
On 28.03.2017, acting on intelligence provided by NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit, the officers of NCB, Bangalore Zonal Unit seized 11.820 kg of Ephedrine at Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore. 01 person was arrested. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Malaysia.
On 29.03.2017, officers of NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone in coordination with BSF seized 1.360 kg of Heroin and 60 gram of Opium. 01 person was arrested. The seized drug was concealed in lower body of the vehicle. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.
On 29.03.2017, Officers of CBN Amritsarh (Punjab), intercepted a Bus and seized 23810 Nos. of Alprazolam Tablets.
On 30.03.2017, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 4.800 kg of Acetic Anhydride, 1500 ml Acetic Chloride, 10.000 kg of Sodium Carbonate, 350 gram of Opium and 300 gram of Heroin and busted 01 illicit clandestine laboratory at Jasaitala More, PS. Lalgola, Murshidabad, West Bengal. 01 person was arrested.
On 30.03.2017, offices of NCB, Guwahati Zonal Unit in presence of Drug Disposal Committee disposed off 116.95 kg of Ganja, 761806 tablets and 74.600 kg of Pseudoephedrine and 3982 bottles of Phensedyl Cough Syrup at M/s Fresh Air Waste Management Service Pvt. Ltd. Vill- Khankar, Paikhaiti, Kamrup (M), Assam.
On 31.03.2017, officers of NCB, Amritsar Sub Zone seized 2.000 kg of Heroin. 02 persons were arrested.
On 31.03.2017, officers of NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit seized 750 gram of Heroin. 01 person was arrested. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Colombo.
On 31.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jammu Zonal Unit seized 296 bottles of Codorex Cough Syrup and 4704 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus at Lakhanpur Check Post.
On 31.03.2017, officers of NCB, Jammu Zonal Unit seized 11.848 kg of Hashish at Jammu Bus Stand. 01 person was arrested.
